The low hum of activity in the locker room was a foreign comfort to Kaelara Tripathi. It wasn't her old training school, and it certainly wasn't the familiar, earthy scent of a mud pit back home. This was the big leagues. LAW. The air crackled with an energy she had only ever dreamed of, a tangible electricity that made the hair on her arms stand up. She sat on a bench, meditating to steady the nervous, but excited flutter in her stomach.
Tonight was the night. Her debut.
From the hallway, she could hear the distant, muffled thump of music. Her opponent's entrance. She’d caught a glimpse of the woman, Lucky Katsuragi, on a monitor earlier. She seemed to be quite the first opponent, and this whole ordeal suddenly seemed to be quite the fun match!
Finishing her last deep breath, she stood and stretched, the muscles in her back and shoulders getting soothed under her gear, her peacock feathers glinting under the fluorescent lights. She gave herself a final look in the mirror, adjusting her bottoms over her plush curves and top over her melons, before stepping back. The Peacock Goddess was now ready to make her entrance! She took a deep, centering breath.
She walked out of the locker room and into the bustling backstage corridor. Roadies and staff moved with an urgency. She made her way to the curtains. The air was thick with anticipation. She could hear the crowd's roar, and it was louder than he had imagined. A wave of awe washed over her, followed by a surge of anticipation.
The final notes of her opponent's theme faded, replaced by the sound of the crowd still buzzing from Lucky's performance. Three… two… one…
A slow, confident smile spread across Kaelara’s face. This was it.
The opening riff of her theme music echoed through the arena. The lights dimmed, and a single, brilliant spotlight hit the top of the ramp, revealing her silhouette.
Kaelara burst through the curtain.
The crowd erupted. The Peacock Goddess had arrived. She stood at the top of the ramp for a moment, her arms outstretched, her dark brown eyes wide as she soaked in the adoration of thousands of fans. A wide, genuine smile lit up her face. This was it. This was everything she had worked for. This was where she was finally gonna have some fun and show off her prowess to the world! She began her descent down the ramp, her movements a fluid, graceful dance. She slapped the hands of outstretched fans, blew as many kisses as she could supply, and even hugged a flustered college student sitting in the front row! She radiated a confidence and joy that was infectious to the arena, and she hoped to share that with her opponent tonight, who she was gonna make sure had just as much fun as she would.
Reaching the ring, she didn't use the stairs. Instead, she took a running start, vaulted herself onto the apron with a practiced leap, and then effortlessly flipped over the top rope, landing in the center of the ring in a perfect crouch. The crowd roared its approval. She rose to her feet, spinning once, her arms wide and face lit up, soaking in the admiration before turning to face her flashy opponent!
"Heya Ms. Katsuragi! It's a pleasure having my first dance here with ya! Let's give our audience a good time, eh?" She said, her voice dripping with genuine excitedness as she stuck her hand out in exchange for a friendly handshake.
