Re: The Hoplite vs. the Samurai: Alexios vs. Kyo
Alexios felt himself being picked up and yeeted to the ropes. He knew this likely meant a strike was coming. He observed Kyo spinning and winding up a lariat. Alexios elected to take advantage of Kyo turning. He chose to pick up speed and lowered his head for a spear. Alexios then launched himself into Kyo like a human torpedo.

Re: The Hoplite vs. the Samurai: Alexios vs. Kyo
Kyo's arm was rotating, revving up for a strike as he charged right at Alexios. As he ran, his heartbeat seemed to slow as he raised his arm for a strike intended to knock Alexious down to the mat and take the wind out of him...
And then Alexious ducked down and charged.
Kyo's eyes widened; unable to stop, he felt Alexios cannon right into him, his shoulder shattering into his chest like a boulder into a braced shield-wall. The air exploded from his lungs, and he was falling backwards, crashing back...Alexios slamming down on top of him. Around them, the crowd went wild at the Greek's daring counter.

Re: The Hoplite vs. the Samurai: Alexios vs. Kyo
Alexios had turned the tide and successfully countered Kyo with a spear. He landed on top of his opponent and the two were laid out. While Alexios’ first instinct was to pin Kyo, he knew his opponent was too tough to keep down so easily. But he needed to keep the pressure on Kyo while he recovered from his prior punishment. Alexios grabbed Kyo’s shoulders and pulled him lay on his side. He then wrapped his right arm around Kyo’s neck and pressed up against his back, locking in a sleeper hold on the ground. It wasn’t pretty technique, but a sleeper is a sleeper.

Re: The Hoplite vs. the Samurai: Alexios vs. Kyo
Kyo was on his back, dry heaving air after taking the brunt of Alexios' shoulder block. Alexios clearly felt that Kyo wasn't out of breath enough, though, as the next thing Kyo knew, he felt the Greek's thick bicep wrapping around his throat as he was trapped in a grounded sleeper. Instinctively, he grabbed for Alexios' arm, his boots kicking at the mat as he struggled to breathe.
"HGGGGAUAGH!" he gave a ragged gasp, trying in vain to breathe. Focusing, Kyo grabbed for Alexios' forearm with both hands and twisted, trying to slowly but loosen Alexios' grip. If he managed that, then he would try to throw an elbow back into Alexios' face to stun the man, before rolling over behind heim, trying to force him down against the mat and bend his arm in a painful Fujiwara armbar!

Re: The Hoplite vs. the Samurai: Alexios vs. Kyo
Alexios was wearing Kyo down. He felt Kyo weaken, but his opponent would not go down so easily. He managed to get enough leeway to send elbows Alexios’ way. It took several elbows to Alexios’ gut, but he was able to break free. Kyo’s frantic struggles quickly shifted to more technical attacks. He rolled Alexios over onto the mat, grabbed his arm, and wrenched it in a Fujiwara armbar!
Alexios screamed in pain. It was clear the Olympian was in real trouble. Kyo was strong, so he couldn’t simply wrench his arm back down. Alexios contemplated tapping, but in his moment of nearly breaking, he remembered the rules of pro wrestling. All he needed was a three count. Alexios instead rolled with Kyo’s momentum. Though he was still in the armbar, he was able to turn Kyo and pin his shoulders onto the mat. The ref began counting the pin as the pain still sharply jolted through Alexios’ body. Alexios hoped for a win but would take Kyo being forced to release the armbar.

Re: The Hoplite vs. the Samurai: Alexios vs. Kyo
Kyo controlled his breathing now as he transitioned to a Fujiwara armbar, and was rewarded by Alexios' cries of pain. The big Greek was neatly trapped in this debilitating hold, and they were far enough from the ropes that if Alexios wanted a rope break, he would have to crawl for it. All Kyo needed to do was keep cranking and...
Suddenly, Alexios turned under him, and Kyo was rolled over, his shoulders against the mat. In an instant, the ref was next to them. "ONE..."
Cursing softly, Kyo kicked out, rolling up to his feet. The moment he rolled back up, he would spin around as Alexios tried to rise, and launch a precision snap-kick into the man's temple!

Tge snap kick connected successfully! Alexios recoiled backwards. He stumbled into the ropes and bounced back. His momentum carried him all the way back to Kyo, at whom he would throw a desperation Latiat.

Re: The Hoplite vs. the Samurai: Alexios vs. Kyo
Kyo felt his snap kick connect solidly with Alexios' forehead, sending the big Greek stumbling backwards towards the ropes. He came rebounding swiftly, and Kyo ran to meet him just as Alexios aimed a desperate lariat at him....
Kyo would react quickly, grabbing for the man's wrist and kicking up, trying to lock both legs around his arm. If all went according to plan, he would flip Alexios over onto his back, locking him with a killer armbar as he tried to force a submission from the Hoplite!

Re: The Hoplite vs. the Samurai: Alexios vs. Kyo
Alexios was in a bad way. A really bad way. His desperation counter turned into just pure desperation. Kyo successfully leapt and wrapped around Alexios’ lariat arm, brought him down, and locked in an armbar! Alexios was actually screaming at this point. If he didn’t do something he would have to tap. Running on pure adrenaline, Alexios scooting towards the ropes. He stretched his let out and, just as the pain was unbearable, he got his foot on the bottom rope!

Re: The Hoplite vs. the Samurai: Alexios vs. Kyo
As soon as Alexios snagged the bottom rope, the ref instructed Kyo to break. Taking a deep breath of irritation, Kyo rose to his feet and grabbed Alexios by the arm to yank him up; unless Alexios managed to counter, Kyo would then lash out with a series of forearm chops against Alexios' chest and temple, in a series of attacks designed to keep him stunned and out of breath, before lashing out to take him down with a brutal close-ranged lariat!
