Battle of the Immortals: Daughters of Athena vs Divine Stars

Xenia pointed out as she launched a knee strike at Kate. It caught the younger woman in the face just as she got back up following the drop kick. The impact of the attack sent Kate stumbling back. Xenia seized the opening by draping her arm over the back of her opponent’s neck, grabbing her by the tights, and lifting her up and dropping back down to the mat with a vertical suplex.

The strike to the knee had left Kate stunned and vulnerable, as well as leaving her unable to respond to Xenia's comment. She was then taken off guard when her opponent grabbed her neck. The Divine Star would feel her feet being taken off the ground. Now upside down, Kate could feel all the blood rushing to her head as the crowd cheered at the sight. Her back then slammed the canvas, causing her to cry out in pain. Her back would arc from pain, but she would quickly roll away, trying to get to the ropes.

Nate was watching the match unfold. He would stomp the canvas, trying to get both wrestlers' attention. "Come On, Kate! Get It Together!" he said as he clapped his hands, trying to get his teammate back in the game. Though if he could also distract Xenia, that would be a nice bonus.

The sound of the opponent’s back hitting the canvas and the subsequent cry of pain indicated that the vertical suplex was effective. Xenia couldn’t follow up right away though as the younger woman managed to roll away towards the ropes. The older woman could her the male half of the other team chanting and stomping in the corner. She paid him no mind and elected to focus on the task at hand.

Xenia approached the younger woman and pulled her away from the ropes to try and keep her from escaping. She would then drop down onto her with a leg drop while her sister, Korina, cheered her their corner.

Kate would shift the weight of her body and start rolling. She managed to get herself to the ropes and would grab onto them, thinking she was safe. Though just as her fingers wrapped around the ropes, the Goddess would feel her legs being grabbed before being pulled off the ropes, losing her sanctuary. Kate would feel her skin being dragged across the canvas before being dumped in the middle of the ring.

The Greek wrestler then saw her fellow Goddess come down at her for a leg drop. But she would roll out of the way, letting Xenia's leg hit the ground. Inhaling, she would get on her hands and knees before moving towards Nate. The male wrestler would extend his hand out, getting ready to tag in. “Come On Kate!” said Nate as Kate attempted to tag him.

Xenia brought her weight down onto Kate’s chest with the leg drop. Or at least she tried to but Kate managed to roll out of the way in time. This led to Xenia landing hard on the mat, drawing a grimace from the Greek goddess as she nursed her now sore leg.

That on its own didn’t really do much damage to Xenia, but it did provide an opening for her opponent to attempt to get to her corner to make a tag. Xenia saw that moved to get up as quickly as she could. She would attempt to grab Kate and pull her away from her partner. If she managed to do that she would follow it up by lifting her up on her shoulders before before dropping her down onto her knee.

Dodging the blow, Kate was now making her way towards Nate. The male wrestler would extend his arm out, ready to be tagged in. Kate would move in and begin to swing her hand down, attempting to tag her partner. Their fingers were about to be connected, only for Kate to be pulled back, causing the tag to be missed at the last second. Nate would curse under his breath.

The Divine Star wrestler would then find herself being lifted, her feet no longer touching the ground. Kate would start to kick around with her legs as she was lifted onto Xenia's shoulder. At the same time, she would attempt to push at her opponent's face and body, trying to unbalance the fellow goddess. A bit of a desperate move, but it was better than, say, doing nothing; it was also a move that in the past had worked from time to time.

Yet it seemed this time, it would not be the case; she was dropped right into her fellow Goddess's knee. A silent gasp would come out of Kate's mouth before she would roll over and land on the canvas, holding her back with one arm.

Xenia grabbed her opponent by the hand and pulled her away from her partner just before they could make the tag before hauling the younger woman up on her shoulders. Kate tried pushing at her face in an attempt to free herself but Xenia would not be denied. She dropped Kate back-first onto her knee, drawing a silent gasp from her fellow goddess as she writhed in pain. She would then grab the young woman and drag her the opposite corner where Korina was waiting. Xenia tagged her younger sister in and the two pulled Kate up to her feet. Both women held onto each arm and pulled Kate in for a double clothesline.

Kate was gasping for air after taking that hit. She would shake her head, trying to regain her senses. She would then find herself being grabbed and dragged towards the opposite corner. The Divine Star heard a tag being made and knew what was going to happen. But before she could react, she would be lifted back to her feet before getting hit by a double clothesline, sending her back down to the canvas as she coughed.

Nate was watching this all unfold, frustrated with how the match was going. He needed to do something; he had to turn this match around somehow. He could try to interfere now or try to pull someone off the ropes. But that could get him in trouble. It might be better for him to wait for a better chance; for now, he was going to have to simply watch what was happening to Kate.

After the double team maneuver from the Daughters of Athena knocked the Divine Star down to the mat, Xenia stepped through the ropes and stood on the apron to allow her sister to take over. And Korina was more than ready to get in on the action.

She had noticed that the backbreaker that her sister did before seemed to be effective, so it made sense to keep up the pressure on the opponent’s back. So Korina dragged Kate away from the ropes towards the center of the ring. She then rolled her onto her stomach, grabbed her legs, and leaned back into the Boston Crab.
