Managing to stick the landing, albeit barely from the latest move shown to her from the martial artist Niko would look over her shoulder at first before turning around fully to get the woman's full review. Smiling at what she said in response to Niko executing the move Niko would nod. "Alrighty I can definitely take that and I'll definitely work on it in the future!" Niko said with a nod and smile.

After that Niko would step back as Lei took center stage to start going over the next move she would learn. The Heavenly Horse's Trample. "Name is kind of a mouthful huh?" Niko admitted a bit but otherwise remaining quiet as she allowed Lei to begin going over the details of the move which apparently was the most difficult move that she could teach. 'Greattttt.' Niko thought to herself a bit worriedly as she looked down before back up at Lei.

Listening to the detailed instructions with the multiple spins and way to control your legs while doing it Niko would admittedly gulp a bit in worry. "I see... Not exactly an easy move by the sounds of it." Niko admitted before continuing to listen to Lei's lecture but the move was making less and less sense for her the more that Lei talked about it.

Thankfully however the older woman would then get to a physical demonstration which Niko would definitely get a lot of help from. Watching as Lei began to go through the movements Niko would tilt her head to the side, curious about the movements, wondering if it was normal. Eventually however Lei stopped causing Niko to look back up at the woman as she and Tiki both mutually agreed this sand wouldn't be suitable to practice the move and even apologized for it.

Internally sighing in relief Niko would hold up both her hands to show there was no issue. "Honestly sounds like it'll be for the best. I definitely don't mind waiting on this one." Niko said with a soft smile before humming a bit and then bouncing on her heels. "I"m definitely down for sparring if you are Ms.Lei! Niko said with a bright smile on her face and chipper nod to the woman across from her.

Lei was a bit relieved that Niko accepted delaying trying to practice and learn a move she had touted as being as powerful and prestigious as Heavenly Horse's Trample was. The master knew that she had been one to go overboard in pushing herself back in her disciple days. Though Lei supposed that having two authority figures in total agreement probably held a lot of weight.

Granted, the offer of a spar probably helped move Niko along too, judging by her reaction. Little did Lei know that her student for the day wouldn't have needed nearly as much convincing as she'd have thought. Learning to better understand her students' thoughts was a skill Lei would need to develop as a shifu, but for now, it luckily didn't get her off page with Niko.

Of course, Tiki had more than enough experience, both in general and Niko specific, to recognize exactly how her student felt. She let it slide. Niko had done well thus far, and Tiki knew that she'd have the pinkette practicing that move under better conditions sooner rather than later. Instead she'd move along with the other two, "So what are the terms for this spar?"

"As close to LAW standard as we can get," Lei answered. "Being a teacher doesn't mean you can stop learning. Not just even from, but especially from your own students. As such, for our spar, Niko, I'd appreciate it if you could help me grow more accustomed to how LAW fights." Lei seemed to look around in thought for a couple seconds before stepping back and digging her foot into the sand and beginning to dig a line.

"We may not have proper ropes, but we can still. . . Tiki, if you could help me get the size right." At Lei's request, she and Tiki would draw a roughly ring sized square in the sand around Niko. "Rope breaks are something that doesn't have an equivalent in kung fu, so I'd like to try it. So we'll treat the edges of our ring as our ropes." Lei stepped into the square to face Niko, "Of course, this is still your lesson before it's mine. Is there anything in particular you'd like to focus working on for our spar?"

Niko took a deep breath in anticipation while Lei and Tiki discussed the terms of the spar, the pinkette trusting her teacher to set the rules as not something too crazy. Nodding to herself Niko would look up just as the women finished drawing a circle of sand around them. As they did so and Lei started to speak is when Niko focused back on the woman asked if there was anything specific she wanted to work on causing Niko to smile cutely at the woman.

"Well not exactly. Or at least you already kinda answer it. See striker are the thing I have the least experience dealing with and I'm going to guess given you're style that's mostly how you fight, so just come at me how you normally would and that'll help me the most." Niko answered simply and surprisingly eloquently in response, showing just how serious and in her element Niko was in right now.

"Alright! If it's my strikes you want, then that's what you'll get," Lei said. "But don't come complaining to me if you're covering up some bruises with concealer for your match." Tiki took up a spot at the edge of the makeshift ring to referee from, since she may as well, and soon after set the spar into motion. Something told the veteran this was more likely to require her intervention than most spars, but she supposed she'd just have to wait and see.

Lei would decide to lead with one of her moves that she hadn't shown Niko; Kingfisher's Tantrum. Thankfully all its twisting and spinning was done in midair, so the kung fu master didn't have to worry about the sand slipping beneath her. Lei ran at Niko, jumped up, twisted around in midair as she would try to land behind the Lightweight with a kick on the way down. If not interrupted, Lei would jump again as soon as she landed, again intending to flip over Niko and kick her on the way down. She'd repeat this until the fifth time, which would be the final kick meant to knock Niko into the sand.

Niko nodded to Lei with a confident grin. "I do so bring it!" Niko said while bouncing from foot to foot on the sand in preparation to throw down with Lei. Lifting her hands up as part of that preparation Niko would bend her knees and watch as Lei would come towards her... before suddenly exploding forward! 'Whoa so fast!' Niko thought to herself before Lei appeared before her, then began twisting landing behind her!

'Crap!' Niko thought to herself before taking a kick to the back! Wincing as she was forced to stumble a few steps Niko would be in for more as Lei continued to jump and spin around her, delivering another kick, then another and another! "Ngh! Agh! Gah!" Niko cried out as each consecutive kick connected with her.

Until finally on the fifth kick Niko, through gritted teeth and a steely gaze would turn just in time to see Lei's fifth kick coming! "Not! This time!" Niko would declare as she reached out and managed to catch Lei's kick! Gritting her teeth through it Niko would turn while pulling on Lei's leg to force the woman towards her while lifting her leg up and swinging it backwards to try and drive a spinning back kick right into Lei's stomach!

Lei found that people weren't capable of recovering after getting flip kicked four times in a row in time to stop the fifth one. Hell, as long as the first one hit, that usually meant all five were, with only the best of opponents being able to sometimes cut her off. With that in mind, after Lei crossed up Niko for the fourth time and tagged, it was not remotely within the brunette's realm of expectations that the shortstack would lock in and catch Lei's fifth kick out of the air.

"Huh?!" Lei cried out as even Tiki flashed a look of shock that Niko pulled that off. But the twintailed wrestler was about to make it even worse for the kung fu master, as she buried her foot into Lei's belly. "GUHAH!" Lei coughed as her abs caved. She tried to grab Niko's leg, but had been hit too hard, and more just fell on top of it with her upper body as her hands instead planted into the sand to keep Lei from faceplanting.

But Lei wouldn't be out of this spar with only a single hit. She would use her immense speed to swing around and try to sweep Niko onto her butt before the shortstack could push the advantage. If Niko got swept, Lei would try to steal control back by doing a kip-up. But instead of landing on her feet, she would try to pay Niko back by landing on the pinkette's belly with her knee.

It was definitely painful to take those kicks from Lei, but if there was anyone in LAW that could take a beating but stay standing and thinking it was Niko. After all few had taken the kinds of beatings that she had and she'd be damned if she was put down by a single technique from Lei without fighting back!

As such she managed to catch Lei's leg as she came in, holding it and then using that grip to turn and deliver a righteous kick right into the woman's midsection! Smiling widely after feeling her kick connect Niko would turn around and smile, proud of her handiwork. Especially given the looks of shock present on both Lei and Tiki's faces.

Unfortunately however before she could take any more time to savor the moment before Lei suddenly flew across the sand towards her, sweeping her legs out from under her, sending her down to the sand as a result!

'Shit!' Niko thought to herself as she landed, only to look up and see Lei coming down towards her with a knee! "Agh!" Niko cried out in pain, turning to try and avoid the blow but not being fast enough to do so entirely with Lei's leg catching her mid turn right into her side and making her feel as if her ribs were about to give out any moment!

Lei was impressed that Niko had managed to counter the Kingfisher's Tantrum, but the twintailed wrestler still struggled to keep up with the kung fu master's speed. Lei's counter sweep went through, and Niko was only able to present a new target for the brunette's Knee Drop, so Lei's leg came down on the shortstack's ribs instead of her stomach.

It was a back and forth early on, but now Lei would try to hold the advantage she had earned. The shifu would let herself fall off to the side, and then try to clamp her thighs around Niko for a Bodyscissor that would further crush the ribs which had just eaten Lei's Knee Drop. "Pretty nice figure you got, Niko. But I think I can help you get that waist even slimmer than it already is," Lei teased as she squeezed.

Niko was groaning and writhing on the mat in pain from the knee drop by Lei, knocking the wind from her lungs and leaving the pinkette unable to move let alone think for the time being. As such Lei took immediate advantage, wrapping her legs around Niko's waist and squeezing down tightly on the pinkette's waist, nearly crushing her with a full force body scissors! "GAHHHH!" Niko cried out in pain from the hold, immediately starting to pry and pull at Lei's legs, trying to loosen them to at least some extent!

"Heh, you're not getting out like that, Niko," Lei said as the pinkette pried ineffectually against the Bodyscissor she was now trapped in. The kung fu master flexed her thighs, tightening their grip around the Lightweight's body. This was the first time in this training session that the two of them were really hitting each other, and Lei wanted to see just how much Niko could take.

To that end, Lei would employ a technique that most certainly wasn't in any ancient kung fu scrolls, but perhaps one that might become an addition of her own to the manuals. Lei would twist her body, flexing her core as she lifted Niko up into the air with her legs, and then the brunette would slam the Sweet Dream down into the sand on her shoulder. And it wouldn't stop there. For as long as Lei held Niko trapped between her legs, she would keep raising her up to slam her back down.
