Trending: Madison Knox vs Rosa Di Astra [Standard]

Unread post by Parker »

Match Type: Standard, One Fall
Victory Conditions: Pinfall, submission, knockout, count out, or disqualification.

The mirror in Madison Knox’s locker room was too harsh, the fluorescent lighting above it threatening to wash her out if she didn’t pay close attention. She leaned in, steady hand applying the last stroke of eyeliner with the same precision she used when cinching a hold tight in the ring. Presentation was everything, always had been, always would be. Tonight was no different.

But beneath the sharp flick of mascara and practiced sweep of powder, her thoughts were a storm.

Her ankle still ached sometimes, phantom pangs that reminded her of Ms. Spencer’s handiwork and the mess it caused. She still wore a brace within her boot, a small sleeve that kept it from twisting wrong. The injury hadn’t been catastrophic, not really, but the fallout? That had been seismic. Keith Fox’s podcast had turned a minor injury into a saga. Madison Knox against the machine. Rigged debuts. Locker rooms not fit for health regulations. Co-ed chaos. She had meant for it to cause a stir but once the narrative she had pitched actually stuck, it took on a life of its own and spiralled into something even beyond her imagination. Now she was painted as some bold whistleblower, the girl with the gall to speak out against the monstrous corporate wrestling entity.

She still couldn't believe it worked.

Her “reboot” plans to deliberately turn away from the bad press and toxic headlines of her earlier career back home wasn’t just a clean slate anymore, it had become a reinvention. The legacy heiress turned underdog. The girl who won, even when she shouldn’t have. The fighter who survived being targeted and came back shinier, sharper, stronger. Fans packed meet-and-greets, hung on her every word. Even without her feeding the beast online. She still avoided social media for her sanity’s sake, her star was climbing higher than she’d thought possible.

Still, not everything had been sunshine. Valerie had gone radio silent, ignoring her calls and messages, and that stung. She had thought reconnecting with her old friend had been something special. A bond of mutual understanding that could withstand anything. Now? She wasn't sure and loathed that she had been lulled into a vulnerable enough place to believe in it like some fairytale story. It could have just been that the other woman was busy or maybe she had grown jealous of Madison's success. New to Japan, Valerie’s stomping ground, and yet she was already rising to new heights.

But Madison Knox was nothing if not resilient. She touched up her lipstick, blotted it carefully, and forced the thought out of her mind. She didn't have time for people who didn't believe in her, didn't want the best for her. Besides, she had other things to think about, like her match tonight.

Madison capped her lipstick, snapped the tube shut with finality, and sat back in her chair. The woman staring back at her in the mirror was flawless, poised, untouchable, exactly the version of herself she wanted the world to see. The makeup wasn’t vanity. It was armor. Every stroke of liner and dusting of powder smoothed away the cracks she couldn’t afford to show.

They’d promised her a fresh opponent tonight. Someone new. Rookie, maybe, or a fresh hire. No details, no hints. Which meant she couldn’t afford to treat this like an easy win. Was this meant to punish her for going off-script, for dragging the company’s skeletons into daylight? Or was this a peace offering, feed her someone green, let her get a decisive win, ride the wave of her newfound stardom? She couldn't be certain so it was best to be prepared.

She reached for her brush, dragging it through her hair with deliberate strokes, shaking it loose once just to feel the weight settle across her shoulders. That was when her eyes caught on the glint of gold resting on the counter. Her collapsible knuckle dusters. Sleek, compact, dangerous. They weren’t supposed to be part of tonight’s story. She was the hero after all, why would she need to cheat? They weren’t supposed to be part of her story anymore, not the one she wanted to tell… but still.

Madison lingered, fingertips brushing the cool metal. For a heartbeat, she debated leaving them there. Clean slate. Underdog. Babyface darling. That pained look on Valerie’s face. The girl who fought fair. But reality had never matched the story had it?

With a faint, private smile, she folded the dusters into place, pressing them smooth before slipping them into her hair. To anyone else, it looked like nothing more than an ornate clasp, a flourish of gold pinning her side braid to the back of her hair. Only she knew what it really was, a promise that if things went sideways, Madison Knox would not be caught without her knockout punch.

A knock rattled the door. One of the crew, polite enough not to barge in. “Five minutes, Ms. Knox.”

“Yeah. I know.” Her reply was crisp, carrying enough confidence to cover the small coil of nerves in her stomach. She bent to lace her boots, the brace on her ankle tugging sharp against the skin. Pain was temporary. Weakness was not an option.

She stood, adjusting the straps of her leotard, smoothing the fabric across the swell of her chest. Her eyes flicked once more to the mirror, no cracks, no hesitation. Madison Knox didn’t walk to the ring uncertain.

“Rookie or not,” she murmured to her reflection, voice low and edged with steel, “they’re stepping into my story. And I’m not the one who folds.”

-----------------
High Hopes - Panic! At the Disco
The arena lights dimmed, anticipation thick enough to feel in the chest, before exploding into a dazzling wash of gold as Madison Knox’s theme flooded the arena. The reaction was instant and deafening. Cheers surged like a tidal wave, drowning out the familiar pockets of boos that clung stubbornly to her name. Love her or hate her, no one stayed quiet. Signs emblazoned with Golden Girl glittered in the stands, the crowd buzzing for the heiress who had turned whispers and scandal into firepower.

emerged with a strut, each step down the stage radiating practiced poise. She paused in the spotlight, striking her silhouette with precision, then pivoted sideways to flex one arm. Her lips brushed across her knuckles in a delicate kiss, her smirk blossoming as she snapped her arm outward in a sharp punch. The crowd roared as she held the pose, basking in the golden glow that framed her as larger than life.

From there, she descended the ramp with the grace of royalty, chin tilted high, hair catching the light in glimmers of champagne gold. Every stride was deliberate, every glance a reminder that this stage belonged to her alone.

At ringside, Madison refused to rush. She drifted toward the steel steps at the corner and ascended them like the grand staircase of a gala, taking her time, savoring the spotlight. At the top, she swept her gaze across the audience one final time, eyes alight with smug satisfaction, before slipping through the middle rope. Her body arched as she crossed the threshold, back curved in a way that made the fan service feel intentional, calculated, controlled.

Once inside, Madison claimed the far corner as her throne. She leaned back against the turnbuckles, arms draped casually over the ropes, her smirk fixed in place as if victory was already secured. The Golden Girl had arrived, and in her presence, the world was expected to bow.

Knock, knock, knock

"Ms.DeFranco," the stagehand said, poking his head through Rosa's locker room door. "It's almost time." He called, yelling above the muffled sound of music as Rosa turned to greet him with a beaming smile plastered on her face.

"'kay, thanks for the heads up Stan, you're the best!"

"Eh, it's nothin', just doing my job. But hey, between you and me," looking to his sides, the young stagehand leaned down and whispered, "I heard they got you up against a real piece of work. Might wanna put a little more pizzazz behind them fists o' yours tonight." He chuckled, "but-uh, you ain't hear from me though, eh?"

"Hear what, all I heard was a friend cheering me on." She winked, gifting stan a giggle before shooing him out her room.

"Now go, I gotta get ready!"

"I hear ya loud and clear, good luck out there!

"Thanks, see ya!" She chirped back before returning to her mirror and thinking about what he said. Rosa knew there were rumblings about something going on at LAW, but when was there not something going on here? There's always some return, debut, or scuffle that happened dang near daily. And as much as she'd love to cover everything, if she did that there'd be no time to wrestle, and that was worse than anything that could happen to her right now. But even so, something big must've gone down if even Stan is giving her a heads up.

Straighting her shades with a sigh, all the bluenette could do was shake her head and keep her eyes on the prize. 'whatever's happening with LAW is uncle Dan's problem, but for me, the only one I got is making sure I hear the ref count 1-2-3!' she thought, ready to take on anyone they put in her way. And right on cue, little Rosa heard the two magic words she loved so much.

"It's time."
Entrance Theme
As the sound of Madison's music faded to silence, the sharp, now familiar blare of a siren punched through the the chatter of the crowd as they sang in time with the chants of the music. Cheering and yelling as the sirens was bathed in blue and gold lights, twinkling like stars in the night sky before coalescing on a bouncing blue blur atop the stage.
Rosa Di Astra

With a smile as bright as a star, Rosa danced to the sound of the music and roar of the crowd as her gaze remained away from the ring. She was having too much fun, and she had too much energy flowing through her veins. Everything felt electric, and she was certain that no matter who was standing in that ring nothing was gonna tear her away from enjoying herself. Or at least, that's what she assumed until her gaze wandered to the ring. Beautiful blonde hair, piercing green eyes, and a face that looked familiar. Way too familiar for a passing resemblance. Who was-

"Maddie Knox?!" She asked, her eyes wide as dinner plates as she couldn't believe who she was facing. She was facing a Knox, her, little old Rosa was about to face against not just a Knox, but Madison herself! If she was running on a 10 before, she was certainly on an 11 now! Feeling her smile crack through her disbelief, the excited fan raced down the ramp like usual, clapping the hands of each of her fans while her coat flapped in the wind before falling off her shoulders the moment she slid into the ring! Hurrying to her feet to toss her shades in the crowd as she turned to her regal opponent. Confirming her thoughts then and there as she squealed,

"I knew it!"Pointing at Madison with a look of pure glee as she tried to calm herself back down. "Omg, omg, omg, I'm fighting Maddie Knox!" She giggled in joy before remembering that she is here to wrestle. Not to fan girl. "Oh, oh-right were having a match! Guess I'll have to ask for an autograph later huh?" She chuckled sheepishly.

Madison had been lounging in the corner like a queen already seated on her throne, her body language deliberately unhurried as Rosa’s entrance shook the rafters. The crowd’s ovation for the newcomer grated on her nerves, loud, joyful, unfiltered. She lifted her head lazily, green eyes cutting toward the ramp as the sirens and lights heralded Rosa’s arrival. A brow arched. The girl was bouncing down like she was headlining a parade, not stepping into the ring with her.

Annoyance flared. She hated that the fans had split their voices, hated that this bubbly girl had managed to stir them like she herself had worked so hard to earn. Madison straightened up in response, rolling her shoulders back, chest puffed as she peeled herself from the ropes. If Rosa was going to play darling of the people, then Madison would make sure she stood as the immovable star across from her. Chin high. Gaze sharp as glass. Ready to grind this girl beneath the heels of her boots...

And then, Rosa opened her mouth.

The squealed recognition cracked across the ring like a lightning bolt, those wide eyes shining with the unmistakable awe of a fangirl who’d just stumbled into her dream. Madison blinked once, the steel in her expression faltering under the unexpected gush of enthusiasm. It was impossible not to see the girl’s excitement as anything but genuine. Her irritation slipped before she could stop it.

A smile curled across Madison’s lips, slow, deliberate, but not as venomous as she had intended to be moments before. If anything, it came too easily, betraying a part of her that wanted to bask in Rosa’s admiration, not punish it. She brushed her golden hair back over her shoulder with the back of her hand, every inch the cover-girl pose, posture angled as though the cameras were already capturing her best side.

“An autograph?” Madison’s voice dripped with controlled cool, but there was a spark of amusement threading underneath it. “So you’re a fan of mine then?” Madison brought a hand delicately to her chest with feigned humility, looking almost shocked by the revelation.

She held Rosa’s gaze, lips curling into something equal parts gracious and predatory. That kind of unfiltered admiration… oh, it could be dangerous. And delicious.

Rosa was on cloud nine. She was over the moon and she doubted she'd come back to earth any time soon. Wide eyed and excited, Rosa couldn't help but let her grin shine one more time as she nodded to Madison's question.

"Of course! I mean who wouldn't be? You're cool, beautiful, and phenomenal in the ring! I Don't think I couldn't be a fan!" She chuckled, while internally reprimanding herself for being a chatterbox. She was probably making her feel weird, or overwhelmed. They're having a match, not a fan meet up! She had to focus, now. Shaking her head trying to get all the fangirling out of her system, Rosa gave a bashful laugh before saying,

"But here I am talking non-stop while we got a match to do. Sorry about that." Rubbing the back of her head, the excited fan almost jumped out of her wraps the moment she felt the referee's hand guide her back to her corner.
'right, this is a match, and of I'm really her fan, I better give her the best fight I can. Come on Rosa, let's try out boxing a Knox!' she thought to herself as the bell rang to start the match.

Closing her eyes and taking in a deep breath, Rosa flipped the switch in her mind, burying her excitement six feet under. For now was the time to focus, now was the time to prove herself to Madison. So, when the fan opened her eyes, the shining joy that filled her gaze had dimmed into a cold piercing stare as she raised her fists. Ready to knock on of her favorite wrestler's lights out then and there as she approached.

"Sorry, Maddie, but I'm the gal that's gonna knock your lights out."

Madison let Rosa’s gush wash over her like warm light, savoring the noise the crowd made for her fan. She leaned forward just enough to catch the blueette’s eyes, letting the corner of her mouth tilt into that easy, practiced smile that had won her half the room. Up close, Rosa smelled like energy and bubblegum and something else, nervous adrenaline, and Madison liked it.

“It’s fine, love,”
she said, voice smooth as silk and just as dangerous. She brushed a stray lock of hair from her face with a slow, absent hand, playing the part the crowd expected while her mind sorted the math of the match. Fans in the ring were convenient; starstruck opponents even more so. If Rosa wanted to talk, Madison would listen. It gave her time to size the other girl up and take it all in. They were close in size and Rosa looked surprisingly honed for someone so bubbly. Exposed feet, tight unrestrictive attire, maybe she was into ground work? No but then there were the gloves with some padding… a kickboxer maybe? That seemed more correct.

Rosa’s grin hardened into a blade of focus and Madison’s smile sharpened in reply. The girl wasn’t all sparkle. That pivot in her demeanor though, sudden, crisp, was worth the small time spent scouting. Madison let the moment linger, calculating: proud rookie, high on the lights, trying to prove herself… that snapped focus though was worrying. She needed to keep her talking, distracted, not so serious. If she actually was new to this thing it was possible she would have trouble keeping up if she wasn’t permitted to stay in her competitor's headspace.

She dropped her weight, knees flexing, rolling her shoulders to settle into a grappler’s base. The movement was methodical: left foot slightly forward, hips low, hands loose and ready. Her boots planted on the canvas with a measured thud, breath even, eyes narrowing into that look that told opponents they’d been seen and accounted for. Up close, you could tell she wasn’t just posing, she was settling into the work.

“Don’t be,” she murmured, amusement braided with steel. “I like fans in the front row, where I can get a good look at them. Especially the cute ones.” She offered Rosa one last cool once-over accompanied by a wink, then cocked her head and readied herself, every inch of her posture saying she planned to enjoy this. The comment about knocking her out got a lofted brow, but only served to tug her smirk wider. At least she peppered in more hints the girl might be a striker. This match would need to go to the mat as soon as she could get it there. "Not even going to wine and dine me before putting me down? How rude.”
