Re: The Hoplite vs. the Samurai: Alexios vs. Kyo
Alexios rolled to his feet as quickly as he could. He bounced against the ropes and rebounded to gain momentum before running straight into Kyo’s lariat. Alexios impacted against Kyo’s arm with a meaty thud. The crowd cheered as the Greek staggered backwards but kept to his feet. Kyo would need more offense to take him off his feet.

Re: The Hoplite vs. the Samurai: Alexios vs. Kyo
The two of them collided in the ring, Kyo's arm lashing out to catch Alexious in a well-timed lariat to take his opponent down to the mat...
...and nothing. There was a meaty smack as Kyo's forearm struck Alexios' chest, but the big Greek remained standing. Raising an eyebrow in faint surprise, Kyo knew that he had to maintain his momentum. Running away from Alexios, he rebounded, aiming to try hammering him with a second lariat, this time throwing more of his body into it...

Re: The Hoplite vs. the Samurai: Alexios vs. Kyo
Alexios readjusted as Kyo came back again. The impact of the second lariat staggered him greatly. It took everything he had not to come tumbling down. Knowing he would not survive another lariat, Alexios wrapped his arms around Kyo’s torso. Hugging him in close, Alexios squated and bounced up in an attempt to fling Kyo with a belly to belly suplex.

Re: The Hoplite vs. the Samurai: Alexios vs. Kyo
As Kyo came rebounding back, his arm smacked hard into Alexios. This time, the blow was enough to stagger the big Greek. Stagger him but, unfortunately, not enough to make him fall. And what was worse, it left Kyo in close range of him now.
Alexios' arms shot out, wrapping around Kyo's torso. Gasping, Kyo tried to wrench his arms free, but wasn't quick enough, and a second later he was flipped overhead in a belly to belly suplex. Bouncing off the mat, Kyo rolled to the side, wincing in pain.

Re: The Hoplite vs. the Samurai: Alexios vs. Kyo
Alexios wasn’t gonna let Kyo get away to recover. Aiming to keep the pressure up, the Greek got up behind Kyo. Wrapping his hands under Kyo’s chin, he pulled and wrenched Kyo’s back up, in a hybrid between a rear chinlock and a camel clutch (but not fully locked in). Be didn’t expect a submission here, but it was another step in the process to wear his opponent down.

Re: The Hoplite vs. the Samurai: Alexios vs. Kyo
Kyo winced as he rolled, trying to put some distance between himself and Alexios. The big Greek, however, wasn't going to let him get away so easily; pulled up to his knees, Kyo felt the other man's arms circle under his chin, and he gave a ragged gasp his head was wrenched back painfully and twisted at an odd angle, sending a jolt of pain through his spine. His boots kicked at the mat as, for a moment, Alexios had him locked in a (decently applied) submission hold.
But then Kyo got his boots under him. He grabbed for one of Alexios' wrists with both hands, and twisted sharply, trying to undo the lock. If he managed that, he would spin around under Alexios' arm and try to get around behind him, twisting his arm behind his back in a chickenwing hammerlock.

Re: The Hoplite vs. the Samurai: Alexios vs. Kyo
Alexios knew Kyo would be a challenge, but he didn’t quite know what to expect. He now realized Kyo was a good technician and they were going to probably have a battle full of submissions. Kyo was able to wrap up Alexios in a one-armed chickenwing submission. Alexios grunted and struggled, his back and shoulder on fire from being bent at such an awkward angle. Alexios decided to move downward instead of away. He would then try to hook his free arm under Kyo’s leg and lift him up for an Olympic Slam.

Re: The Hoplite vs. the Samurai: Alexios vs. Kyo
Even as Kyo wrenched Alexios' arm backwards, he moved to modify the hold further, moving one arm up to snake around Alexios' throat, adding a rear naked choke to his woes. Alexios was a bigger and stronger opponent, but so far, Kyo was doing a good job of keeping him under control.
That was, until Kyo felt his leg being grabbed. Then he was propelled backwards, slamming hard into the mat back-first. "GUUUH.." he grunted, clutching his back as he was forced to roll away from the Greek powerhouse...

Re: The Hoplite vs. the Samurai: Alexios vs. Kyo
Alexios couldn’t let Kyo get away from him. Seeing Kyo on the ground and rolling towards the ropes, Alexios ran after him. Leaping into the air, Alexios put his legs out to missile dropkick Kyo and try to send him outside of the ring.

Re: The Hoplite vs. the Samurai: Alexios vs. Kyo
As Kyo rolled, he felt the mat shake as Alexios charged after him. A second later, he felt the Greek's boots slam hard against his ribs. "AUGH!" he gasped as the blow hammered him hard, sending him crashing outside the mat onto the ring floor, groaning as he lay on his front, hurting from that missile dropkick.
