Family Reunion

Alaina smiled and nodded as Sophia came around. She didn't mean to make Sophia feel bad at all. "I know. Danny is good. He is gritty and just keeps going that is what sets him apart from a lot of people. You are very similar to him in that regard though. I know it will be a great match that gets a nice well deserved spotlight." Alaina said as she sat back before thinking about the last thing Sophia said. "Honestly? I looked at any opponent the same. If someone beat me, male or female I tried to learn from it. I never felt weaker or anything from wrestling against men specifically." Alaina said.

"So what else is new? How are your parents doing?" Alaina asked trying to steer things away from the upcoming PPV match. She wanted Sophia to relax, not get worked up.

Sophia was getting a lot of stuff off of her chest to Alaina and some respect it felt good to let it all out. The blonde superhero did tilt her head up a bit surprised when Alaina brought up how similar both Danny and her were in terms of keeping going and never giving up. "Thanks.... Auntie..." Sophia said in a warm tone of voice having a soft smile go across it. That was until Alaina put her own two cents in on Sophia's more recent comment. The blonde sat up in her chair taking Alaina's words to heart as she processed them before leaning forward to give Alaina a hug. "Thanks Alaina.... I guess I never thought of it like that." Sophia said letting out an embarrassed laugh as she pulled herself back to look at her in the eyes."I promise you, I know Danny is like a son but in Rome I'm finally going to beat him and then you and I will have a match kay?" It seemed Alaina's words truly got to Sophia as the doubt she once had was all gone and replaced with a fiery determination as she smiled at her aunt. The blonde would go to highlight it by giving her a challenging smirk as she brought up the prospect of a match between the two powerhouses as she gave her a wink and even extended her arm out to give a tap on her stomach as if she were going for a punch.

As Sophia leaned back to sit her chair her attitude was far better and a lot more relaxed. When Alaina brought up how her folks were doing, Sophia sat up looking at her trying to keep a straight face. "Well let's just say after I challenged Danny, they called me with Pops saying "Sophia honey, you only just joined LAW and already you want to start wrestling with your family? Are you trying to wrestle or start a family reunion?" Sophia perked up mimicking her dads voice and started laughing hard with her chest heaving in an out so much, so she had to wipe a tear from how much she was laughing and even having her arm come up and down on the arm rest before finally catching a breath. " And then mom was all like "Sweetie we have faith in you but please don't start any drama with Alaina please. You know as well as I do that if you or Danny rough house too much, she'll be on both of you." Sophia added on trying to mimic her mom's softer sincere tone of voice all the while trying to hold back her laughter from Alaina.

Alaina laid back listening. She was glad Sophia was back to her usual self and not moping at all. Alaina took it all in listening as Sophia spoke. She looked over at Sophia and laughed. "You know we can have a match whenever you like, you don't need to turn Danny into some gatekeeper." Alaina said with a laugh. She understood where Sophia was coming from but she also wanted to make a point that all Sophia had to do for a match was ask for one.

She then listened to her family's reaction to Sophia facing Danny. It was pretty much exactly what Alaina expected. "Yeah, that sounds like her all right. I realize you two are in a match you are trying to win. Both of you are going to do what you have to in order to win, I get it more than she does it seems." Alaina said after being made out to be the angry aunt who will yell at the two grown adults. "I understand where she is coming from though. You two are going to have a good match worthy of the PPV and venue we are at for sure." Alaina added.

Thanks to Alaina, Sophia was no longer upset and could go to back to just simply enjoying her time with her beloved auntie. As they talked more, Alaina's remark did make Sophia eye her a bit while she sipped her drink."I know I shouldn't see Danny as a gatekeeper but how can I really know if I'm ready to face off against you if I can't even beat Danny someone whose been in the ring less than us?" She laughed giving Alaina a playfully nudge of her big muscular elbow as she continued the conversation.


After Sophia told Alaina how her parents reacted, the blonde couldn't help but chuckle at Alaina's response."Yeah as much as I love my mom she doesn't know much about this business operates compared to you auntie. And thanks, it's crazy to think despite having two matches under my belt here I'll be competing in one of this companies biggest PPV this summer." Sophia said as now all of it was starting to get to her. Sure, she was a big name in the indie circuit but to start off her time in LAW with just two matches and get to be in Fight the LAW would be crazy for any newcomer to the company. Even with that big undertaking all Sophia could do was simply smile and treat it like a badge of honor as she turned back to Alaina."And in a week I'm going to win." She spoke confidently giving a playful wink to her aunt as she pulled her arm out with her glass out as a gesture for Alaina to clink It before they finished the last bit of their drinks.

Alaina sat back and listened as Sophia talked more. "I get it all about your mom, Danny and everything. No one in the family understood wrestling when I was younger. It is rough when no one understood." Alaina said as she took a breath. "I also get it about Danny. I wouldn't just look at him like thst or put that label on him but I understand it. Just let him be his own wrestler instead of that."

Alaina raised her glass and tapped it against Sophia's as she looked over at her with a grin. "Here is to the first of many big time LAW PPV appearances for you!"

Sophia sat back and listened to Alaina letting it all sink in. She was happy Alaina understood where she was coming from since growing up being a wrestling nerd as a kid was hard given how women were portrayed in the sport growing up. However even with Alaina’s understanding, Sophia just felt that drive in her. That urge to beat Danny so that way she can know for sure she’s ready to face Alaina, so not wanting to continue the conversation and possibly start something, Sophia just held her chin up with a smile nodding.”Understood! And to my first PPV VICTORY!” She added with a cheeky grin as they clinked glasses together.

After Sophia finished her drink she put to the side and leaned forward in her chair looking a bit more excited than usual.”This may surprise you Alaina but Allison Ford the woman Tina defeated by submission…. She was actually my tag partner when I got out of college. We even won a tag team belt together.” Sophia continued excited to finally tell her aunt that the woman Tina defeated was actually her friend from her indie days as Sophia then sat back in her chair with eager anticipation for Alaina’s reaction.

"Oh Allison? She is off to quite a start and so are you. If the two of you teamed up I could see you two being a top team. I've tried to dethrone the SWAT Kats and fell short with Tina so they are no pushovers but we need to do more dedicated tag team matches to really be a top tier team." Alaina said.

"You seem to have done a lot of things right to have set yourself up. Your wrestling career has the foundation set, now it is time to watch you build up." Alaina added with a smile.

Sophia couldn't help but blush at her aunt's compliments. Sophia was in her early years and hear from the woman who inspired her to be a wrestler say she was on the right path made the hulking blonde blush."Awwww thanks Auntie Alaina that means a lot coming from you." Sophia giggled trying to give Alaina a playful nudge."Just let me know when you and Tina wanna face us in the ring. Tina got lucky against Allison, if I was in her corner she would've been out!" Sophia grinned raising an eyebrow at the idea of the two teams going at it head to head one day."I should also mention we never lost the titles, we just had to relinquished them because Allison was sent to another company" Sophia added with a playful air of smugness as she drank the last of her drink.

"AH that's good! Say anywhere you wanna go? I hear you can still turn heads at the beach but with me I wonder who they'll be looking at." Sophia chuckled as for the first time in forever the two finally get some family time to travel and go sightseeing. The unmasked superhero waited with an eager look of giddiness on where Alaina wanted to go to.

"I guess it all depends on if Allison ever makes it back." Alaina said, shrugging her arms and thinking of the possibilities of what that tag match would be like.

When Sophia asked her about going somewhere she really hadn't thought of that. "I was going to stay here, I was going to be with the kids today." Alaina said before Sophia kept talking about the beach. "I am 50 years old, I doubt many people would notice me if I was with you." She said.

"Yeah I guess your right on that on." Sophia nodded in agreement but still curious about what would happen if all four-woman fought in a tag team match against one another.

However, when Sophia asked Alaina about heading out to the beach, the muscular blonde couldn't help but be surprised by her aunt's response. "Oh really how are your kids lately? Is Carl still crushing over Katherine? Because he should know she's in her thirties and he's starting his teenage years." She chuckled being reminded of the stories Alaina told her about Carl kissing a Katherine Hart before placing her hand on her shoulder. "So what if your in your fifties? People still turn heads when you walk down the aisle? and besides if anyone tries to hit on you or me, we at least know we have a bodyguard for us both." Sophia added playfully winking to her aunt about each other's strength before getting out of her chair."Well if you really want to stay here that's fine and good we have a pool right here." Sophia said extending her arm out pointing in the direction of the pool.
