Bruna Wrex.
6’3”
212 pounds.
”Oh, boy.”
If there was one thing going against Valerie in LAW, it was that she was having to face a wide variety of opponents, more so than she’d ever dealt with as an amatuer wrestler in high school. There, she had the benefit of being by far the biggest girl in the school, to the point where she most often had to take on boys,
and even then she typically had a distinct size advantage. Professional wrestling, however, had no weight class limitations, and while Valerie was on the far side of the middleweight classes, there was still an entire level of heavyweights she could and would have to contend with someday.
That day had finally arrived. Hello, Bruna Wrex.
Valerie bounced back and forth in the gorilla position, doing her best to amp up as she waited for her cue to come out. She wasn’t alone, either - for this match, she’d asked for a little extra support, and her mother obliged. Valley Doll II stood behind her, massaging her shoulders as Valerie shifted on her heels.
”You need to calm down, Mini-Me.” Her mother brought out that sweet, soothing tone, and it was usually enough to calm her nerves. The same was true today, but notably less so than usual. ”It’s just another day, another match. You're a big girl.”
”She’s a bigger girl.”
”Shush.” She gave Valerie a hard pat on the back, then moved over to her front, making sure she could see her smile. ”You’ve got this. Just go after her like we’ve taught, focus on the little victories and make them build up to a big one. Imagine how a smaller girl would go after you.”
”Or like Garfield.”
Her mother snickered. ”Well, I didn’t want to bring it up, but yes, like your brother.” It was silly, but it was a good point. Despite her being substantially bigger than her brother, he’d always managed to outfox her when they sparred, dazzling her with his agility, working her over with swift kicks and solid strikes. He was a handful, and if he could handle her, then maybe she shouldn’t have been so worked up about Bruna. It made some sense. ”You’ve got this. Just be smart, be quick. Don’t let her pin you down, wait for your opportunities, and when the time is right…”
Valerie pummeled and huffed, summoning her resolve as she looked straight ahead. ”Drop her.”
A few moments later and Valerie was stepping through the curtains of the gorilla position, moving with a good deal more confidence than she’d had just a few moments ago, as her played, approaching the ring with confident strides. She slipped in under the bottom rope, popped up to her feet, made her way over to her corner, where she proceeded to get her stretches in. All the while, she kept her focus on the ramp, waiting for her opponent’s approach with a quickly beating heart.
Valley Doll III, ready to go.
