Diary Entry (READ ME)

Hello again, diary~! Some exciting news tonight...I'm gonna be participating in an MMA match. Now, it's been a bit since I've participated in kickboxing, and while I'm not rusty or anything...(my strikes are plenty sharp, thank you very much!!!)...I'm a little nervous since this is a whole new playing field I'm about to experience. MMA is already different, sure, but the folks at LAW likely have different standards for the rules and regulations. So now I'm wondering what exactly is gonna be the outcome tonight. Especially because my opponent is touted as a rather experienced submission specialist, so I've got to be extra careful...

With that being said, there's no time to run away from things! It's best to face challenges and new experiences head-on, so I'm off!!! Wish me luck, diary!!!

Ami Anderson, the 'Prima Donna Darling' vs The Venus of Submissions, Toshimi Minami
Match Type: "MMA Match"
This fight will take place in a standard octagon with three-minute rounds at a maximum of nine rounds. There are rest intervals of one minute between rounds. Victory is achieved via submission, knockout, referee stoppage, or decision. If neither fighter has achieved victory after all nine rounds have finished, the fight will go to decision via a panel of judges. Disqualification is at the referee's discretion. Warnings will be issued, but continued offenses will result in disqualification.

The Venue...

The arena was lit up in a heavy blue tone, all the lights bearing down toward the center mass in the ring...the octagon...which sat on a raised platform, surrounded by desks for the judges and commentary teams, with equal space given to what would be the corner teams of both women. The stands were practically filled, every member of the audience a faceless shadow as they all seemed to blur together, eager to see a real fight go on tonight, with many equally excited to see some hot action amid the fighting. Two gals going at it in a slightly more serious, physical manner, round-in and round-out? It sounded like a good time, and fortunately for the hyped up audience, they wouldn't have to wait long for showtime to begin...

"...Making her way to the cage, hailing from Los Angeles, California...standing at 4'11 and weighing in at 105 lbs, the brightest star in the sky...the sweetest diva on the stage...the PRIMA DONNA DARLING...AMI...ANDERSON!!!"


Walking out with her LAW-provided corner team, Ami emerged from the locker room with a bright, beaming smile across her face, looking as confident as ever as she waved both her gloved hands in the air, garnering a wave of support and adoration, blowing some kisses out to the crowd. She cheerfully exclaimed, eager to show off some of her striking capabilities. Curiously enough, Ami's wardrobe was different this time around. Instead of her leotard or her standard gear, she was dressed in a dazzling white top with a pink sash near the bottom trim, paired with a matching gladiator-style skirt, akin to something you'd see her in during her kickboxing years...stylish yet functional, allowing for freedom of movement, highly necessary in environments like these. She sported a pair of white gloves with a darker pink cuff and a pair of padded foot guards of a similar color. Her makeup was done in advance with some high-quality cosmetics suitable for physical activities and guaranteed not to smear. Her hair was tied up in the back with some layered braids on one side, a few of those hot pink strands interweaving with her brunette locks. She clamped down on her mouthguard, chewing on it to help ease her nerves. After entering the cage, she moved over to her designated spot, her corner team on the outside preparing their things for the intervals between as Ami focused on getting herself in the right mindset, mere minutes away from the first bell. She stood poised in her corner, tapping her padded fists together, hopping on her feet...awaiting the arrival of this so-called 'Venus of Submissions'...Toshimi Minami...

Minami hummed softly as stretched and prepared backstage for her upcoming match. An MMA bout of all things. However Minami didn't mind this at all, in fact if anything after the last few bouts she had she welcome this particular battle. By its nature it was more grounded and technical which naturally played to Minami's strengths and she had even completed in a few underground MMA matches while raising her daughter to keep her skills sharp so it wasn't;t as if she was walking into this with no knowledge or experience of how things worked in a octagon rather than a ring. Besides there was one other advantage to this particular match type. Her opponent. A young lady by the name of Ami Anderson.

"Ms.Minami your up!"

Thoughts interrupted by a crew worker Minami would straighten up and finish strapping her gloves on before walking out and towards the entrance ramp. Despite the different match type Minami's overall attire wasn't so far off from what she normally wore. That being her base purple and gold leotard only rather standard wrestling boots she wore athletic foot wraps that left her toes and heels exposed along with fingerless MMA gloves. It was nothing overly fancy or elaborate and she was sure the fans wouldn't appreciate it but Minami didn't see the point in getting an entirely different outfit when this would suffice her just fine.

Music starting up to a multitude of boos and some cheers it wouldn't be long before Minami herself came out, looking about indifferently to the crowd before focusing on the ring and the person in it. Icy gaze dropping even lower in temperature till it was practically subzero as she marched down the ramp to little to no fanfare, simply intent on getting into the ring. Amy Anderson, the reason Minami was excited to face her wasn't cause of her potential or bubbly personality or because she was quickly winning over LAW's fan base oh no.

Minami simply hated the rookie's attitude. She treated this all like it was just a game. That she could step into any kind of combat sport she wanted and have fun while increasing her notoriety and not even taking it seriously. It made Minami sick to her stomach and the day the little brat had stepped into LAW Minami had decided that she would at some point get her hands on her and show her what being in LAW really meant... and now that was time.

Stepping into the cage and letting the door be shut behind her Minami would bear the full force of her gaze on Ami. "Hold no illusions about this girl... this will not end well for you. If you're smart you'll let yourself lose in the first round or quit all together." Minami said coldly with her arms crossed under chest disapprovingly like a mother scolding her child.

Ami kept herself ready and warmed up, hopping on her feet to get her blood pumping...but also to wear down her nerves. She continued to softly chew on her mouthguard, the oral fixation allowing her to focus on something as she waited for her opponent to arrive. When she did, she could already feel the woman's intensity on her long walk here. Clad in a skin-tight leotard with matching gloves and tape wrapped around her feet and shins. She certainly seemed dressed for the occasion, little flash and substance, all business...the contrast between the two was palpable, but what really ignited the tension forming in the air was their first moment of contact. Ami stepped forward to meet her opponent head-on with a friendly 'hello', attempting to politely introduce herself and wish her opponent well in their approaching bout.

"Hi, nice to meet y-" Before Ami could properly finish her introduction, her chipper and sportsmanlike attitude was cut down by Minami's ice-cold and razor-sharp words. Whereas Ami saw this as a normal, even friendly competition between equal competitors, Minami seemed to harbor some resentment toward her, a rare disdain for the Prima Donna to encounter. She was taken aback, eyes widening with surprise, and lost for words. At first, she didn't know how to respond, her lips moving in confusion but producing no sounds. That was until Minami suggested that, if Ami were 'smart', she should roll over and give up in the first round. Ami could feel her blood boil as she pouted, glaring at the woman with a look of confusion and contempt. "Ex-CUSE you? Did I do something to you? I was just trying to introduce myself, and for some reason, you're already dismissing me?" She said, her tone conveying disbelief and displeasure over the dark-haired woman's first impression. She was going to speak up a little more, but was cut off by the referee, who stepped between the two to go over the rules one final time. Ami had to stand there, paying attention while looking Minami in the eyes, trying to figure out what this woman's issue was...but there was no use. All she could do now was put her best foot forward, preferably upside the woman's face, and give this fight her all so she could prove the veteran wrong.

When the pair were dismissed back to their corners, Ami spoke up for a brief moment. "If you wanna underestimate me, fine-...but it'll be a decision you'll regret soon enough." She said, turning away as she tried to bring her focus back on the fight instead of Minami's words. She stood with the cold steel of the chain-linked wall behind her, getting her stance and hopping on her feet, ready for the bell...and once it finally rang, Ami shot forward, heading straight for the center of the cage to get right into the mix of things.

DING!!! - ROUND 1

Minami said what she wanted to say to Ami and the girl obviously didn't take the dismissal well whatsoever as she immediately stepped up to Minami, decrying what Minami had said, asking if she did anything to offend the veteran before promising to make Minami regret it. Through it all Minami remained silent with a cold expression on her face, not moved whatsoever by the girl's words.

After all Minami said what she wanted, as the veteran between them, they were the only words that mattered. Nothing else needed to be said per se. However if there was one thing Minami had picked up on over the years, it was that getting a word in edge wise prior to the match starting could sometimes be as valuable as a preemptive strike.

"For the record." Minami said, steely voice cutting through the air to the back of the retreating Ami. "You offended me the moment you stepped into this company." Minami said before moving to her own corner, but never once did she let her focus waver or wander from her opponent's form, all the way until the bell rang... Prompting Minami to shoot out of her corner like a rocket!

Fists raised and approaching Ami steadily Minami would suddenly dive down just as she and Ami would collide. Reaching her hands out to snag onto her opponent's leg Minami would then get her feet under her and push up, picking up Ami's leg as she did so to take the girl's base out from under her and send her face first into the mat! Should she be successful at this then Minami would immediately twist the girl's foot for an attempted ankle lock!

Ami was left with nothing but confusion and disbelief, feelings that soon translated into irritation and annoyance. However, it didn't matter...because the bell had rung and the fight was on, meaning that the Prima Donna could put a halt to the veteran's vitriol by showing what she was made of. Ami came out of the gates swinging, attempting to launch a volley of quick jabs to test the waters before fully engaging with her opponent. Unfortunately for her, the brunette was soon accosted by her dark-haired foe, who didn't care much for the rookie's punches, ducking below her opening line of fire and suddenly snatching up Ami's leg. Before she knew it, the brunette had been taken down to the crowd and subsequently punished with a grueling submission hold, Minami putting her namesake to good use as she locked in her hold with efficiency and without mercy, soon eliciting several whines and groans from her opponent as she squirmed and writhed in agony, the shock overwhelming her at first as she clawed at the canvas in pain. "GHhhhnnn-..." She winced, gritting her teeth before shooting her free leg up and at Minami, aiming to try and smack her in one of her knees as she THRUST her leg back and hoped it'd be enough to throw her opponent off.

Not wanting to give her opponent any time to truly star this bout Minami had managed to easily slip past the smaller girl's gaze and catch her leg, showing the rookie why she was called the Venus of Submissions. Smirked as she brutally cranked the girl's ankle Minami hoped to do some serious damage early on that she would feel throughout the course of the match. Unfortunately however good a hold as this was it wasn't ideal as far as locking down limbs as Minami would soon find out as Ami soon used her free leg to shoot behind her and drive a kick into Minami's ribs! "Ngh!" Minami cried out in pain as she was forced to let go of Ami's leg and backed up with a glare. Waiting until Ami started to get up she would dart forward, turning and lifting her leg up before bringing it down, trying to connect a axe kick directly into the still rising Ami's back!

Ami groaned, already beginning to feel the serious amounts of pain that Minami was inflicting upon her ankle. The agonizing sensations traveled up to her calf, causing her to stagger to her feet rather slowly. Still, she managed to scout the Axe Kick ahead of time as Minami's leg loomed over her, hanging overhead with little warning. If not for her instincts, the Prima Donna would've found herself being crushed underfoot this early in the fight...something she definitely didn't want to allow. She barely manages to roll out of harm's way, the edge of Minami's heel narrowly clipping the side of her waist as her foot grazes her slightly. Ami takes the glancing blow, powering through the instinct to flinch away from her foe as she picks herself up, getting her guard and trying to catch Minami on her recovery with a quick couple of jabs aimed at her face, followed through with a Front Push Kick aimed right at the woman's midsection, thrusting her leg forward to try and surprise the dismissive, dark-haired veteran.

Making Ami understand just what kind of threat she was against early on Minami was looking to further emphasize that lesson with an axe kick to the downed girl. Unfortunately however she would not have the opportunity for this as the girl instead managed to roll away just in the knick of time, avoiding the blow albeit barely! 'Damn it!' Minami thought to herself with a glare, nearly stumbling from the force of her own kick before catching herself. Unfortunately as she did it was barely in time to see Ami coming at her and getting her arms up in response!

'Damn it!' Minami thought to herself again, much more harshly than before as she felt the jabs connect, her arms immediately throbbing with pain as a result. 'Strong hits.' Minami thought to herself before watching as the Prima Donna suddenly pushed forward with a kick! 'Can't let that connect!' Minami thought as she brought her arms down suddenly, trying to push Ami's leg straight down and to the mat! If successful with stopping the kick then Minami would step in, swinging her fist up to try and deliver an uppercut to Ami's jaw and, should that connect, try and connect with a follow up kick right to the girl's ribs!

Ami's leg would be swatted down to the ground, catching the Prima Donna off-guard as her eyes widened before her vision exploded with flashes of black and white. The young brunette stumbled back, left to stare blankly at the arena's overhead lights and infrastructure as her body went numb for a moment. She was nearly lifted off her feet, and if not for the cage wall, then she would've dropped down like a sack of potatoes. She was nearly sent to dreamland with that sudden counter, with Minami demonstrating that she wasn't here to play games...She was neither some old woman nor an easy mark. She was a threat, and that much was made clear as that sudden uppercut to Ami's jaw caught her good, but that follow-up kick to her ribs brought her back down to earth. She crumbled against her leg, nearly falling for the second time if not for a desperate forward lunge to try and clinch onto Minami, with Ami wrapping her arms around the woman's body as she tried to stall for time and catch her breath. Things weren't looking so hot for the young, starry-eyed rookie...whose eyes were now starting to look a lot less bright, and a lot more glazed over.

Minami watched with sadistic satisfaction as she delivered a massive uppercut straight into the girl's face that clearly rocked her. A blow that very nearly could have been koed but in spite of that fact she wouldn't leave it well enough alone as she then brought her leg up and delivered a follow up kick right into what Minami knew must be aching ribs. Smirking even wider at this Minami would have moved forward to press her apparent advantage if not for Ami suddenly closing the distance and clinching onto her!

...However Minami's smirk would just turn into an outright evil grin as the brunette did this. Immediately her arms would close around the girl's head, her knees rising up to meet the girl's abs, delivering knee strike after knee strike into her ribs, trying to turn her own clinch against her! If successful with this then after a few knees then Minami would look to fully wrap her arm around Ami's neck before jumping up, wrapping her legs around Ami's waist to try and secure a guillotine choke and body scissors combo!
