Panther's Pride: Bengal VS. Patricia Lincoln

Bengal's low blow had freed her from Patricia's clutches, but the Tiger was still exhausted from the ordeal. Her throat was throbbing as if she'd just swallowed a hot coal, and her tongue felt like sandpaper in her mouth as she rose on wobbly knees. When the Panther rushed at her, she attempted to dodge around her opponent, planning to transition into a floatover DDT.

Unfortunately for Bengal, the American was simply too quick for her. The young fighter's arm shot out perpendicular to her body, faster than the Tiger's eyes could follow. The Indian woman didn't even have time to raise her arms into a guard. Patricia's clothesline smashed across her unprotected windpipe, sending her backflipping through the air. She almost managed a full rotation, before she plummeted down onto her chest and face, coming to rest in a prone position.

It wasn't a happy landing, by any stretch of the imagination. The Tiger was still conscious, but the pain in her windpipe had gotten ten times worse. She wheezed and pawed at her neck with one quavering hand, pushing herself onto her knees with the other, as she tried desperately to prepare for the Panther's next attack.

Patricia let out a sigh of relief as her clothesline succeeded in sending Bengal back down to the mat but her job wasn’t done as Bengal was still very much posed a threat. As Bengal got to her knees Patricia grabbed one of her legs and stretched it to her chest, wrapping one of her arms around it while using the other one to twist Bengal’s foot. Bengal cursed and spat, kicking her leg back like an angry mule. But no matter what she did, Patricia held on fast. The pain in her ankle was quickly becoming unbearable. The Tiger knew that it wouldn't be long before the joint was seriously damaged, potentially slowing her down for the rest of the match. An injury like that would make her easy prey for her black-clad opponent.

She had to free herself quickly, but that would require some risk. Gritting her teeth with effort, she pushed herself up on one leg. Then she leaped up into the air, twisting her flexible body around as she did so, threatening to nail the Panther right in her overly serious face with a bicycle kick! If the blow connected, it would force the American to let go of her ankle, leaving the Tiger free to flip nimbly backward and escape.

"That'll teach you to keep your dirty little paws to yourself," she seethed, wiping a trickle of sweat from her forehead with the back of her hand as she spoke. "Next time you touch me, you're losing a hand!" She got back into a fighting stance, shifting her weight back and forth between her feet as she looked for an opening to unleash some strikes.

“Aggh!” Patricia yelped as Bengal’s bicycle kick landed right on her cheek forcing her to let go of the ankle lock and back away. Rubbing her sore cheek she resisted the urge to eye roll again at Bengal’s words choosing to respond with “If you don’t like getting touched then why did you become a wrestler?”. Seeing Bengal in a fighting stance Patricia would slowly back away till she was in a corner in an attempt to lure Bengal to advance towards Patricia. If she fell for the bait Patricia would pounced on Bengal like a cat and take her down to the mat where a grappler like Patricia would have the edge over a striker like Bengal.

Patricia's question seemed to throw Bengal off for a moment, but the Tiger quickly recovered her composure. "Oh, you want to know why I do this?" she asked sardonically, her dark eyes smoldering like a couple of hot coals. "All right. Let me show you!"

The Indian woman charged forward, nostrils flared, pumping her arms and knees like a sprinter starting off the block. Patricia's bait had worked perfectly, throwing Bengal into a blind, animalistic rage. Without even realizing it, the Tiger had fallen for the same trick that she'd tried to pull at the beginning of the match. All thoughts of caution or strategy had vanished from her mind; the only thing she wanted to do now was tackle the Panther to the canvas and shred her to ribbons. In her fury, it didn't occur to her that taking the fight to the mat might be exactly what a grappler like Patricia wanted.

Patricia suppressed the wide smile that threatened to form seeing the tiger fall for her trap “now is the time to act you can gloat later” Patricia thought as she watch Bengal recklessly charge her. Before Bengal could get too close Patricia leaped into air in a cat like pounce landing on Bengal and sending them down to the mat with a THUD. Patricia would them mount Bengal before raining punches on her face while saying “You’re just like a certain someone in my stable all snarl no claws”

Bengal could feel Patricia's weight shifting and moving on top of her, as the Panther blasted her face with blow after blow. She tried to roll away, but the other woman's straddling legs made it impossible for her to escape. The American was blabbing on and on, something about another wrestler she knew. Maybe that distraction was what allowed the Tiger to catch her wrist in midair when she went for yet another punch.

"I don't know who the hell you're talking about," she hissed, twisting the joint at a painful angle. "But if she's in a stable with you, she must be a little bitch. Birds of a feather, right?" Before Patricia could respond, Bengal transitioned into a flawless Guillotine Choke. She snaked her legs around her opponent's midsection, while clamping down on the Panther's neck with the inside of her own arm!

"Who does this remind you of, huh?" the Tiger demanded, cinching the choke in even tighter. "Tell me more about your super interesting stable. I genuinely want to know!" She grinned broadly, knowing that her tight hold on Patricia's neck would make it difficult for the other woman to say anything of substance. Still, she pretended like she didn't understand what was happening when her opponent's face began to redden. "What's the matter? Cat got your tongue?" Bengal quipped, chuckling softly at her own bad joke.

Patricia would have growled at Bengal if she could but it was kinda hard to do that when your airway is being blocked off. Fortunately for the panther they were near the corner which meant the ropes were nearby. Patricia hurriedly scooted toward them to get a rope break as every second in bengal’s hold greatly dismissed her chances of winning her debut match. As soon as she could she put a foot on the ropes causing the referee to tell Bengal to break the hold and Patricia was more than happy to help Bengal out by using her free hand to squeeze hard on bengal’s thighs where the referee couldn’t see getting a little payback for earlier in the match.

Bengal's Guillotine Choke seemed like a possible match-ender, but Patricia managed to grab the ropes, forcing a break. The referee yelled at the Tiger to let go, like an animal trainer trying to prevent a mauling. Fortunately for everyone in the arena, Bengal had a little more restraint than an actual wildcat - but only a little. She kept the choke locked in as long as she possibly could, then threw the Panther away, the instant before the ref was about to declare a disqualification. As a career heel, she had lots of experience toeing the line.

Apparently, so did Patricia. As Bengal rose, preoccupied with ideas for a follow-up attack, her opponent tore at the inside of her thigh. Pain rippled through the Tiger's leg; she jerked quickly away, but the damage was already done. Bengal had gotten a taste of her own medicine, and she didn't enjoy the flavor. She certainly hadn't expected a down-dirty move like that from the stoic Panther.

At that moment, a more introspective wrestler might have reflected on her own rule-breaking ways. She might have recognized how her cheating had encouraged others to cheat as well, in a vicious cycle with no end. She might have tried to change.

Bengal was not that wrestler. "CHEATING BITCH!" she screeched at Patricia, with zero self-awareness. She gestured frantically at the referee, blubbering about disqualifications, but the officials hadn't seen Patricia's sneaky maneuver. As far as they were concerned, this was just more nonsense from a well-known liar. The match continued uninterrupted, and Bengal was left off-kilter. Facing off with the Panther once more, she found herself suddenly hesitating to approach, leaving her opponent with the initiative.

Patricia normally avoided cheating and underhanded maneuvers as Zoey used them quite frequently and the last thing Patricia wanted to be was Zoey Johnson. However when Bengal decided to keep her Guillotine Chokehold going after Patricia reached the ropes, forcing the referee to threaten disqualification before she let go. Patricia decided it was high time Bengal got a cup of her own medicine and judging by her reaction it was a long time coming. Patricia smirked as she stood up while Bengal complained to the referee before grabbing Bengal’s attention by saying “don’t get in cat fights if you can’t handle the claws” before rushing towards her planning on doing a belly to belly suplex on her.
