I hope you’re doing well with Fight the LAW 4, or just having a chill time in general on the forum. Given recent happenings, I’ve ought to pitch an idea that came to mind more seriously as one of my main lessons from it: Divisional Supercards.
This is a two-parter. Please scroll to the bottom half to see a future possible event
Monsy, give it to me quickly: These are supercard events styled like a normal card catered to a belt domain or wrestler class. Lightweights, Middleweights, Heavyweight, Hentai, Lawless, Tag Team, Mixed, Losers, Young Lioness/Lions. The Title Holder of these divisions will Main Event. Or, for YL, it will have a Graduation Match. Then the rest of the card is filled out with matches respective to the division.
Detail #1 — Coordination? Planning?: The concept is for Title Holders and the respective Division to give them their platform. Between the Event Team and the Holder, we will organize a preferred month so they can have their event catered to the Timeline of their reign. ( As official PPVs can be semi-fluid in scheduling, this will help holders orchestrate big story beats more seamlessly. ) And, if possible, there could be added fixtures like panels, press conferences, promos if logistics allow and planning is proactive between Coordinator and Holder.
Detail #2 — Theme?: Holders will be able to influence certain aspects from ring cosmetics for the entire card, to a certain theme/aesthetic/fixture and possibly a few other details. Of course, anything too intrusive or complex forced onto other matches will be up to deliberation. The intended effect is to give Holders a little something special and make the division feel more connected. An almost “this is my domain” effect.
Detail #3 — Participation? Rule?: Rules would be looser compared to PPVs as per normal Supercards. Please note that specifics could change.
- One match for eligibility.
- The only defining principle is that your match suits the overhead theme. AKA: Middleweights in the Middleweight card, Mixed Matches in Mixed, Losers in Losers, Sexfights in Hentai card, you get the idea.
- HOWEVER: What I believe to be thematic in this case is to allow YLs the chance to participate IF their category weight or future prospect matches the Division they will be entering upon main roster ascendance. The FUTURE, if you will.
- The card size will likely max at between 8-12 matches. NOTE: Don't take this number too seriously. It's mainly a guesstimate that could easily increase upon further deliberation.
- Therefore, people getting at LEAST one match will be prioritized over someone’s second match for FAIRNESS. The first match submitted by an applicant will be considered their primary submission, while their second might be in reserve in case we need to fill a space.
- A standard google form will be used like always.
Detail #5 — How frequent can these happen?: Coordinator plans are always semi-fluid and that will apply here as well. My hope is to provide each belt holder at least one event in their reign, should they choose to. This will be flexible for their schedule, but also planned in advance and deliberated to see what works. Sometimes they might overlap depending on timelines, others might be spaced out. It’s my goal to see a maintainable pace for them.
