Kings and Queens Tournament Aftermath: Celebrating new friends, new titles, and new opportunities

Unread post by MappleMan7 »

The Kings and Queens Tournament had come to an end. While the title itself was unofficial and not recognized by LAW higher-ups, it still held plenty of significance to its winner: Oscar Orelash, the Barbarian Prince. Oscar was all too aware of how little attention the mens division received compared to the women of LAW- but having fought tooth and nail in a down-to-the-wire finale, Oscar was proud to claim the title of being LAWs first (unofficial) male champion! A celebration felt only natural, but Oscar felt like it was appropriate to invite Dama De Loba, the opponent he faced in the tournament's finale, to join him for some drinks. For someone having made her debut in the tournament, Oscar was deeply impressed with how Loba had pushed him in the match- and grateful that she encouraged him to fight on when his anxieties were starting to get to him instead of using the moment to steal the match from him. Oscar was beyond curious about the talented Ms. De Loba- and was determined to learn more about this amazing wrestler.

Showing up at an agreed bar in some casual clothes, Oscar would find a booth for him and Loba to share as he slid into a seat and placed a backpack under the table. Oscar had an eager look on his face as he tapped his foot excitedly, keeping an eye out for Loba with the plan to wave her down when he spotted her. Due to Loba's mask, he didn't have a great idea of what she looked like- but she was a giant redhead who was as big as he was. Someone like that should be easy to spot in a crowd. At least- that's what Oscar believed.

Loba smiled brightly as she near skipped down the sidewalk to the bar she had agreed to meet Oscar at. Despite her loss in the final round of the Kings and Queens tournament it didn't bother Loba much. It still made for an amazing debut into the LAW roster and making it to the finals alone was something to be proud about, but the final match itself was amazing. Oscar was easily one of the best opponents that Loba had ever gone up against and she was thrilled with the result, even if he had won. It was why she was so enthusiastic about accepting this invitation.

Wearing a knee length pink skirt along with a tight fitting black T-Shirt, knee length pink and black socks with bright red hi top sneakers she wasn't all too much different than her wrestling person, her bright red hair definitely still waving around freely behind her. The biggest difference though would be the lack of a mask on her face. Admittedly she debated about wearing it tonight, after all a Luchadora's face was of the utmost priority, and it was always a risk to go out without it.

However Oscar had proven trustworthy, and she could always make sure that if they took any pictures they hid her face somehow in the edit before posting. Entering the bar and looking around it wouldn't be overly difficult to spot Oscar. After all he was her size with similar fiery red hair to her and he was even waving her down. Smiling brilliantly at the man she would quickly step over towards him with a bit more than a spring to her step, going to sit down across from him. "Oscarrrrr! How are you feeling after the match? Not too beat up I hope." She said cheerily, hoping he was doing ok after the admittedly brutal bout the two had had.

Oscar, spotting Loba, would match her brilliant smile with a big, happy grin as she took a seat across from him. When asked how he was holding up, Oscar chuckled.

"I'm doing alright, thanks for asking! Definitely feeling sore in some places- but nothing I haven't dealt with before. Gonna have a nice ice bath waiting for me when I get home. What about you, Loba? Good to see you in high spirits- but are you holding up ok?"

Oscar tilted his head curiously at the question. He was happy to see Loba plucky and upbeat, but he wanted to make sure one of the best opponents he's ever had wasn't dealing with any lingering pains.

Taking her seat across from Oscar and greeting him Loba would nod and look relieved for Oscar when he talked about being ok for the most part and having a ice bath waiting at home, giggling softly in response as he proceeded to ask her mostly the same question.

"Oh yeah I'm all good! Couple of scrapes and bruises hehe, but like ya said nothing major, the drinks tonight will also definitely help haha." Loba said happily towards Oscar, hoping she could put him at ease as he did her about her state following the brutal match between them.

Oscar smiled at Loba's answer- happy to see that she was still in good spirits despite the close loss.

"Happy to hear! Speaking of drinks... let me put an order in for us. What would you like, Loba? Oh- and do you want to split some loaded nachos too? I'm feeling a bit peckish"

Oscar would wave down a server and give their order- whatever Loba would decide on, of course, before turning his attention back to her.

"While I have you here, I did some digging on your career. I... didn't realize you were a champion wrestler in other promotions. My previous opponents in the tournament- they were... well, Audrey had great spirit but lacked any formal training and Noel just loudly complained the entire time. I was put under the impression that only rookies or troublesome fighters were in the tournament- and since you were making your LAW debut in the tournament I assumed you were also inexperienced"

Oscar would bow his head to Loba apologetically.

"I was being... well, a twit. And I want to apologize to you for making that assumption towards you. Especially since it got to my head in our match. I should also thank you for snapping me out of my funk. You could have taken full advantage of my mental state and turned it into a win- but you helped me instead"

Oscar raised his head back up with an honored smile on his face.

"You're probably one of the best wrestlers I had the honor of fighting in my career- and tonight, I'd like to honor your effort and your sportsmanship. And... I'd like to get to know you better too. So I hope you're ready to have a night of fun!"

Loba continued to smile happily and nodded towards Oscar after giving her own status report to him with how she was doing. Naturally he was as happy for her to be doing as well as she was in the wake of their match as she felt for him. Better yet he introduced the idea of getting some drinks and food for them both! "Oh a strawberry daiquiri would be great! And yesss nachos sound so good. Especially with extra beef!" Loba said with an excited nod.

Soon though his smile would fall causing Loba to do the same as she tilted her head to the side in slight confusion. "Huh? What's up?" Loba asked curiously as he began to confess that his other opponents in the tournament had been less than ideal competitors to go against, and had caused him to assume she was the same way and as such he was apologizing for it and thanking her for breaking him from his funk.

Not saying anything in the moment Loba would lean over the table, her hand extending outwards to rest her hand on top of his head and and ruffle his hair before going back into her seat, smiling happily at him. as she did so. "Oh no worries! I'm happy to have gotten you out of it, a win over you like that wouldn't have felt near as good, and I don't necessarily blame you for doubting me. Besides I proved ya wrong about that real quick!" Loba said teasingly with a grin and wink to him.

"Honestly I'm just glad I could have been such a worthy opponent for someone like you!" Loba said with a bright smile, one that only grew at what he said next, promising that tonight would be one full of fun in her honor! "Yeah! That sounds wonderful Oscar! I'd love to get to know you better as well and have as much fun as possible!" Loba said excitedly, more than ready to meet his challenge yet again, only this time with it being one of fun than completion!

Oscar looked quite surprised when Loba responded by ruffling his crimson locks- responding to her teasing response about how she proved his judgement wrong with a playful and lighthearted snort.

"Yeah- ok, you got me there. I can't deny that. I think I still feel a little something from that powerbomb you pulled off y'know..."

Oscar chuckled, rubbing his lower back a bit as he experienced a brief moment of phantom pain- though he took it in stride. Oscar smiled back at Loba's excitement to getting to know eachother.

"Awesome! Alright- so, a big two-time wrestling champion is a pretty big deal. I'm surprised it took LAW this long to give you a debut. To start us off, I'm curious to know what got you into wrestling?"

Thankfully it seemed Loba's attempt at humor helped bring back some levity to their situation and make things more fun between them after the slightly serious moment they had where he apologized, and light and fun was just where Loba wanted things!

"Hehehe no offense but I'd hoped you would. It's my finisher for a reason after all." Loba said with a little gremlin chuckle before leaning back and smiling softly as he expressed surprise at her not having debuted yet.

"In general I think they just didn't want me to get lost in the shuffle which is why they wait till this tournament." She said before smiling way wider when Oscar asked her what got her into wrestling.

"Oh! My dad used to take me to Lucha Libre shows whenever we visited my family in Mexico when I was a kid. That's how I first saw Kat Hart and I've been a megafan of hers ever since!" Loba said happily, especially once Kat was brought up.

"Oh? Awesome! I kinda got into wrestling on my own terms. It's a... long story- but simply put, I got inspired by wrestlers who had tough careers but kept getting back up and pushing on. Wrestlers like Effie Rook or Chloe Valentine for example. Since then, I've always wrestled to inspire people to 'embrace the spark of inspiration and turn it into a blazing passion'. Hence that fire trick I do during me entrances, hehe"

Oscar perked up at the mention of Kat Hard, smiling when the name of the super kitty herself dropped.

"Oh! Yeah- I'm with you on that one! I have nothing but mad respect for Kat and the SWAT Cats. I still remember when they invited my friends and I out for a Kariokie party during my young lion days... good times..."

Oscar let out a nostalgic sigh thinking back to his first PPV show as warmup entertainment on that cruise ship LAW management booked. The same ship he and the gang partied with the Cats on.

Having given her piece Loba would listen to Oscar as he gave his and smiled brightly in response at it. "Wow.. that's such a wholesome reason to get into wrestling Oscar! I'm not sure what that long story is but I think its a great thing you're aiming for, and that fire trick was really cool in general, but it having that kinda meaning makes it even better hehe." Loba said with a smile that quickly turned into one of wonder as Oscar not only agreed with her about Kat, but had apparently even met her! "Whatttt!? You've met Kat?! Omg is she as awesome as she seems? Oh Gosh I have so many questions eeee!" Loba said going full on fangirl mode for the mention of her favorite wrestler apparently being acquainted with her new friend!
