The atmosphere in the arena was electric, an intoxicating blend of hope and tension that coursed through the veins of every spectator. The bleachers vibrated beneath the weight of enthusiastic fans, their chants echoing like a thunderstorm—some were loyal Cupcakes supporters, while others were eager to see the underdogs fall.
Polly was still grappling with a sense of right and wrong in this chaotic world of tag team wrestling, where morality blurred in the heat of competition, and every decision came with its own weight. The ethos of the Cupcakes had always revolved around fairness and resilience, principles they now found themselves systematically dismantling. It felt like a betrayal of sorts, yet the harsh truth loomed large; good girls seldom walked away victorious. They lingered too long in the kindness which, in a cruel twist of irony, left them flat on their backs amidst the rubble of their dreams and ambitions.
The tag was made, and Polly entered the ring like a whirlwind, fueled by adrenaline and the urgency to recover from her earlier missteps. She felt the weight of her inexperience pressing down on her—heavy, relentless—but the fiery spirit of of wayward partner surged within her. She couldn’t afford to dwell on the aches and pains shooting through her body, a stark reminder of her humble beginnings.
Her heels dug into the mat, her stance widening as she faced Kate, who was looming closer, a predator prowling for any hint of vulnerability.
The crowd held their breath in collective suspense, sensing the delicate equilibrium of power beginning to shift. Kate was smaller in stature compared to Nate but no less quick or ferocious.
Kate charged forward with all the energy of a storm, and time seemed to stop. Polly’s heart sank as she envisioned her potential fate, a bruising thud against the canvas if the clothesline connected.
But then, intuition took the wheel. In a split second of clarity, she ducked under Kate’s sweeping arm, her rookie ring smarts guiding her movements. The crowd erupted into a cacophony of gasps and cheers, their exhilaration tangling with Polly’s own disbelief at her agility. This was a moment she had to seize, a fleeting opportunity shining like a beacon.
She dove low and attempted to slip beneath the smaller wrestler, her hands reaching out instinctively. She touched the taut muscles of Kate's abdomen, feeling the sinewy fibers beneath her palm, a reminder of the power they both wielded as competitors in this fierce arena. In that instant, Polly could sense the potential of what lay ahead—a quick roll-up, an act of cunning intricacy that could overwhelm her rival just as much as it delighted the hearts of the fans who had rallied behind her.
"Ugh fall back you cow!"
Polly had become decidedly British as her sweet persona slipped a little. She hoped the motion of her arm and admittedly lightweight would carry Kate over onto her back and end up with Polly lay on the back of the Goddess' thighs. If it worked, the begged for a quick count so Polly and Louise could get home, far away from this situation.

Re: The Cupcake Connection vs The Divine Stars - Having your cake and eating it
Kate would charge forward, being fresh meant she had a lot of energy to spend and would have an advantage. She was going to make Polly regret tagging herself in and cheating. The distance between the two of them closed quickly as the blonde wrestler would then swung her arm, trying to knock down Polly and gain control of the match. However, instead of connecting, all she hit was air. Her eyes would go wide as she would then try to turn her head, attempting to find where the British wrestler had gone.
Suddenly the blonde wrestler would find herself being pulled and sent into the canvas while being insulted. Her shoulders were now pinned on the canvas with her opponent on top of her thighs. The referee would slide between the two and raise her arm bringing it down. Kate's eyes would go wide as she realized what was going on, her British opponent had managed to roll her up for a pin. The crowd would cheer at the sight, while the blonde wrestler attempted to kick out. But the referee managed to bring her hand down once.
"ONE!"
Nate was at the corner watching everything unfold. He honestly was surprised at the sight and was wondering if he should interfere. He could run in and break the pin but he also knew his partner well. He would give her another chance to get out, waiting for the two count before deciding to interfere. The male wrestler knew that his partner had her pride. Besides, that referee was being annoying and he still needed to keep an eye on Louise, while she had been devastated, there was a chance she could interfere.
Kate heard the referee slam her hand down and the one count. She refused to lose here and now. There was no way she was going to let herself get pinned like this. The referee would then bring her hand down for the two count. But suddenly Kate would kick out before the two count, breaking the pin. The referee would give the one signal with her hand.
"Cow? You sound like a jealous girl. Guess you need to resort to cheap tricks and insults when your skills are lacking. Is that why you give everyone cupcakes, to get them on your side since you cannot do so normally? No wonder your partner got flattened." said Kate in a mocking tone as she attempted to get back onto her feet.

Re: The Cupcake Connection vs The Divine Stars - Having your cake and eating it
Polly took a deep breath as she pushed herself back up to her feet, her heart racing with a potent mix of adrenaline and anxiety. She had just found herself in a position that felt like victory within grasp, only to slip away like sand through her fingers. The crowd around her roared with excitement, their energy palpable, but to Polly, it was overwhelmingly suffocating.
As her gaze met Kate's—the Divine Goddess who seemed to embody strength itself—she felt an unexpected rush of conflict within her.
With a flicker of uncertainty, Polly's eyes darted to the corners of the ring, searching for a sense of assurance that had been missing since the bell rang. Alone against the duo of Kate and Nate, she felt like a tiny boat tossed about on a stormy sea, while the towering counterparts loomed nearby with their unyielding presence. Polly, known not for brute strength but for her agility and clever tactics, grappled with her own inadequacy, questioning whether she could truly stand against these giants.
"Your partner is a hulking brute and you... well... you are... um..." Polly let the words falter, her usual wit escaping her under the bright lights, leaving her momentarily speechless. How could she possibly insult someone who seemed to float on confidence and strength? Laughter erupted from the audience—some found her falter amusing, while others cheered for the audacity of Polly’s spirit, a small figure standing up against a seemingly insurmountable challenge.
Frustration bubbled up, and Polly’s cheeks turned an alluring shade of red. The sound echoed her internal battle—a drumbeat of determination fighting against the waves of self-doubt. There was fire in her eyes, stoked by the laughter, by the betrayal of opportunity, and by her desire to prove herself—not just to the crowd, or to her opponents, but to herself.
The moment hung in the air; she could feel the tension thick like fog. It was time to claw her way back, to show that she was more than just the cupcake face that everyone perceived her to be. She raised her hands, palms open, inviting Kate for a grapple. The air crackled with suspense as the two squared off, their bodies poised to collide once more.
If Kate took the invite, then Polly would push and pull, looking to jockey the pair toward the nearest corner, one that the prayed in the merry dance that did not have Nate stood waiting!

Re: The Cupcake Connection vs The Divine Stars - Having your cake and eating it
Having kicked out, Kate would now get back to her feet while giving a glare to her opponent. She was now ready to tear her apart and show her how a real wrestler fought. The Greek wrestler needed to take her down fast before her tag partner got back into the fight, otherwise they would be back at square one. That being said, Polly had proven to be a bit fast, so she couldn't underestimate her. The blonde wrestler began to wonder what move to do next, perhaps a super kick or attempt to grapple her into submission. Though just as she was about to make a move she would hear her opponent's comment and then give a confused look before shaking her head left to right.
"That was pathetic. Next time take a second or two to think before you speak. A wrestler is more than a fighter, they need to know how to please and work the crowd with their voices. Need I remind you that this is a wrestling match, not a circus? Or is that why you have cupcakes, to do that work for you? I would almost feel bad for you. And honestly, what do you expect to happen, for us to just lay over and let you win? This is a wrestling match, of course, we are going to try to take you down. Now try to put up more of a fight than your partner, the crowd deserves at least that much." said Kate in an insulting tone, as if she was challenging Polly and her partner's very status as wrestlers.
Nate on the other hand was smirking as he heard all this. "PA-THET-IC! PA-THET-IC!" he stated over and over again, trying to get the crowd to join in and taunt their opponents. He knew you could break a wrestler in more ways than just physical. Destroy their will to fight and the match is as good as won. That being said he would also keep an eye on Louise. He didn't want her to run interference and he still planned on getting a bit of payback on her.
Kate then saw the challenge. The Greek wrestler would move in and raise her arms up, trying to get closer and closer to accept the challenge. She would lock up with Polly and attempt to overpower her. Or at least that was what the blonde wrestler wanted her to think. As they would spin, when her back was facing Nate, she would give up a step or two before then falling onto her back, attempting to use her weight to make Polly fall towards her as well. If that worked, she would raise her legs, attempting to kick and then flip Polly towards the turnbuckle where her tag team partner was waiting.
