Finlay didn't know what was happening. One moment he was lifting Mary up in order to go for a final punishing move to hopefully get the three count or even a submission from her, the next he was on his back with the ref counting, already up to two! Unlike before though Mary wasn't going to break it willingly which meant...

Mary broke the pin after release as her music started up and the ring announcer called her the victor in this match. The science teacher laid on her back and groaned as she wasn’t in the mood to get up right now. She fought with everything she had and she had come out the winner even if barely. Mary knew she was likely to get a scolding since rollups tended to be frowned upon in this combat sport as a pretty easy way out. Mary had to admit that Finaly was just the better competitor in this match which may seem ironic since she won the match, but even if she had good wrestling experience from here and the independent circuit, she was still a rookie at her old age and she couldn’t do it forever. Mary went to get back on her feet and even held a hand out to help Finaly back up.

Laying there in shock after being released Finlay didn't know what to think. Denial was already out and he was accepting that he lost... but to a roll up? Of all things a roll up? The fact that it almost worked on him earlier didn't help as his pride felt a major sting from the unexpected defeat. Soon enough he would look up and see Mary holding a hand out to him, with a similarly conflicted look on her face.

Looking at her hand for a moment then her face he would eventually accept her hand and pull himself to his feet... Despite that though he wouldn't say anything further to her, his opinion was still.. divided on Mary so he'd offer a nod of acknowledgement but otherwise turn to exit the ring and head to the back to let Mary bask in her victory.

The audience could tell it was still respectful between both wrestlers as Finaly accepted the hand up. Mary didn’t know what to think herself. She didn’t know what else to use when Finaly had put her through so much and her back was killing her too much to lift him up for better moves. It ticked Mary off frankly that so much of what she did gets pushed off as “rookie accidents” when she has surpassed her rookie years. Mary shot a side eye at him, but let the referee raise her arm as she celebrated with the crowd cheering her on.
