Sanae Saitou vs Kennedy Lee — Standard Match

The hooded figure raised her hands in defense as she made innocent mouth movements, but not saying any words. The crowd was for sure convinced it was Alizeh under that hood and they cheered louder hoping their suspicions were right. However, Sanae was not thrilled in the slightest to see her occasional tag team partner. At least not when “Alizeh’s” interference could cost her the match and Kennedy got to her feet seeing the scene in front of her. This made her slam a hand on the apron in frustration as she slid in and asked for a microphone. A ring attendant handed it to her as Kennedy wiped her mouth and glared daggers at the tag team before raising the microphone to her mouth.

“I think the rules were clear from the start, Sanae. No interference allowed at least for you. Any sort of outside interference that harmed me was prohibited. I don’t put it past you to bring Alizeh out here to fight your battle for you, but it’s backfired. Referee, ring the bell! Sanae is disqualified!” Kennedy ordered over to the nervous referee as the female official looked at Sanae with a very conflicted look.

Just then, the figure threw back to the hood to reveal Lyra as the crowd went into shock and gasps! She tilted her head crazily to smile at Kennedy as the Glamorous One hung her mouth open in shock. If Lyra was here, she wasn’t even in charge anymore, was she? Lyra was apart of The Selection and the referees of LAW knew it was a death wish to rule out of their favor. The referee shook her head and defied Kennedy as the crowd went into some rambunctious cheers!

Sure enough, Sanae's worst fears were about to come true. The moment she heard Kennedy's hand come down against the apron, she froze, her eyes going wide and glassy in shock as a cold sweat ran down the back of her neck. In Alizeh's intrusion, Kennedy had found the perfect excuse to get Sanae thrown out of the match. It hadn't even been anything she had done, or anything she'd planned on - but Kennedy had ensured that one way or another, Sanae couldn't win. Now, she was going to move in for the kill.

The idol spun around, facing Kennedy and shaking her head as she held her hands up in front of herself protectively. "No, no, you got it all wrong-!" she cut in. "She just...showed up! I swear, I don't have anything to do with this! I didn't know she was going to do this - I tried to stop her, even..!"

But she would soon be dealt two surprises. First of all, the intruder pulled back her hood to reveal it wasn't Alizeh at all, but Lyra! At the sight of her girlfriend's face, Sanae gasped. "Lyra! You're here?" For a moment, she asked herself if this was a good thing - what was with that look on her face? Was she really on her side? Was this really Lyra? An uneasy feeling bubbled in the pit of Sanae's stomach - but she didn't have time to think about that. Just as quickly, she shook it out of her head. It didn't matter now. When the odds were stacked against her as much as they were, she needed all the help she could get.

And when the second surprise came - that the referee was going to keep the match going - Sanae's grin grew even wider. Suddenly, a surge of newfound confidence took hold of her, right when she needed it most. She stood straighter and balled a tight fist as she moved over to take Lyra's hand. She was still in this - and maybe, with Lyra at her side, she could win! "All right! We're still in this! C'mon, Lyra, we can win this! Together!"

They could, right?

It had all gone according to plan for Lyra and her intentions were deep rooted in making sure that her opponents were left rattled. The Anomaly taught her the art of mind games and using psychology in order to see what makes others tick. He bestowed his best knowledge onto one of his best students and she was grateful. Lyra knew Kennedy wouldn’t expect it and pulled the rug out from under her knowing the referee wouldn’t dare call for the bell in the presence of a Selection member. The referee was actually quite fearful cowering some in the corner, but Lyra had no intentions of harming her. Just Kennedy and her squadron.

“Gah! What the hell are you doing here?!” Kennedy demanded to know.

“Nothing like a little cheap tan spray and hair dye to make ya uncomfortable. I may not be used to mind games, but there are a lot of potential nerves to poke and I knew you would be a little angry at Alizeh poking her nose in your plans. Now, I’m helping my girlfriend win this match!” Lyra replied with a dark grin,

Kennedy widened her eyes slightly as Freya and Elm made their way back to Kennedy’s side. She nodded at them to take care of the couple before she ducked out of the ring. Kennedy went straight to her fiancées and grabbed their cheeks as she huddled them close. The Selection is dangerous and devious and she can’t put the ones she loves in harm’s way. She may be egotistical, but she still has her mature side that loves all that made her their family. Kennedy wasn’t going to let her lovers or even her daughter suffer at The Selection’s hands.

“Listen to me, it’s about to get dangerous in here and those freaks will go after you girls. Get out of here and to safety. I think Emily also had her match earlier so find her backstage and grab her as well. I’m not letting you three get hurt. No arguing! Go!” Kennedy urged kissing her future wives and ushering them to a safe way out of the crowd.

Just hearing the defiance in Lyra's voice as she spoke up against Kennedy made Sanae's confidence well up in her chest. Maybe things were looking rough at first, but now she and her girlfriend were ready to take on whatever challenges lay ahead for them - and when the two of them worked as one, their unbreakable bond would only make them stronger than ever; strong enough to take on Kennedy! Sanae's hand squeezed tighter around Lyra's as she stood a little taller. Maybe she had been worried about the darker paths Lyra was taking before - but right now, none of that worried her. Right now, Sanae was riding a wave of excitement that could only come from knowing the two of them had it in them to turn the tides of this match. She couldn't hold back now!

In fact, Kennedy was now turning to Haleigh and Sara, meaning Sanae finally had a chance to catch her breath and collect her thoughts. After the breakneck pace this match had taken, she certainly wasn't going to complain about that. Looking up at Lyra with a smile, she tugged a little harder at her arm to draw her closer too. "Thanks, Lyra. I never counted on you being here for me..."

Still, with time to catch her breath came time to think about what was going on. She tilted her head a little curiously when she saw the wicked-looking smile on Lyra's face. That didn't seem like her - and it was enough to make an intrusive thought creep into her mind. Was Lyra being here really something to celebrate, when she had grown as close as she had to the Selection? For a moment, a frown came to Sanae's face. "Uh, Lyra...are you, er, okay?" What, she asked herself, would come next?

Meanwhile, Haleigh and Sara rose from their seats, nodding to Kennedy. "Alright, hon. We'll still watch ya on the replay, though!" Sara said, raising a thumbs-up. Haleigh cracked her knuckles, planting a fist against her palm. "I'd offer to jump in and help you, but these two won't stand a chance anyway. See ya after you win!" They then made their way back through the crowd, disappearing into the sea of heads - though Haleigh still stopped and looked back over her shoulder, just to catch a glimpse of what might be next in store.

There was no time to think as Freya charged in tackling Lyra into a corner as Elm stomped over to Sanae. This was still an ongoing match and Glamorous Rules were still in effect even if the referee would be hesitant to act on disqualifying Sanae for any further breaking of the rules. Kennedy would deal with the official later as Elm tried grappling with the smaller idol trying to pick her up and throw her halfway across the ring with her immense strength. Freya charged into Lyra’s gut a few times making the fortune teller wheeze, but a staggering Headbutt made the younger Ederne back up as she grabbed her head in a woozing pain. Lyra followed it up with a hard Spear taking down Freya with a group of cheers coming up!

Sanae still had her lingering hesitations about how much she could trust Lyra, and how much the Selection still held sway over her...but there was no time for pondering those things, and she would soon receive a harsh reminder as such! Freya took off like a bolt of lightning, throwing all her body weight up against Lyra and slamming her back into the corner. "WHAT!?" Sanae jumped up with a gasp, looking back and forth. But whether or not she was ready for it, the match would go on. And while Sanae was distracted, Elm had the opportunity to scoop Sanae up and hurl her straight across the ring! The green-haired girl put up little resistance as she was yanked off her feet - and with Elm's sheer power, she was able to throw her through the air as though she weighed nothing!

Letting out a scream, Sanae sailed back across the ring, only to hit the mat and skid to a halt a few feet away. As the dust cleared, she sat back up, rubbing at her sore temples as she groaned under her breath. She was still sore, and her head was spinning. But when she looked back up, she saw that Lyra was fighting back against Freya! A smile crossed her face, and she sat up a little straighter. Seeing such determination from Lyra in the face of unbearable odds told Sanae that they did have a chance - no matter whose side Lyra was on.

With a surge of adrenaline running through her veins, Sanae hopped back to her feet. She charged straight for Elm, and as she closed into range, she would swing a knee up to try and drive the air out of her lungs. Hopefully, she could strike fast enough to leave Elm winded before she had a chance to retaliate. If she could get her to bend over forward, Sanae would attempt to jump up and spin herself around to drive her foot into the back of Elm's head, with an enziguri!

Sanae had managed to get herself back up and her fans screamed their heart out for her as the determined fighting spirit was shining through. Lyra batted forearms straight to the head of Freya before hitting a Superkick that made the former army cadet stumble onto the ropes! As for Elm, Sanae used her speed to get back over to the giant woman hitting a straight knee to her gut making Elm cough and spurt out saliva as she wasn’t agile enough to prepare for such a move. Sanae followed it up jumping to swing her leg around for an enzurgiri making Elm stumble to one knee! The crowd was cheering for the couple as Lyra stared down Sanae and held her arms out for a celebratory hug and tears started welling up in her eyes!

With the sound of a crack, Sanae's leg came crashing into the back of Elm's head, and only moments later the heavyweight collapsed in front of her. There the fans erupted into cheers. When Sanae heard them rally behind her with the sort of cheers that could only come from seeing a natural fan favorite like she was standing up against incredible odds and refusing to bow in the face of them, the grin on her face grew a little wider. As long as the fans believed in her, then surely she could do it - that was all the encouragement she would need! For a moment, she began to raise a fist in the air, before she realized that would technically be playing to the fans. But then she looked back at Lyra as her girlfriend came running back toward her, and Sanae threw her arms around her to pull her into a tight embrace. She couldn't help herself - she had to get emotional when everything seemed to be working out so well! Kennedy might have done everything she could to hold Sanae back, but the idol wasn't going to let her!

She kept her arms slung around Lyra's sides, but Sanae looked back up to see Elm hunched over before her. There, a smirk came to her face as she looked back at Lyra. "Okay, Lyra...I think the two of us can do this together!" She got into a stance, leaning forward and bending at the knee, ready to take off as she held up her forearm in front of her. "Double lariat! Ready on three! One...two...THREE!"

As she called it out, Sanae would rush forward to close in on Elm, swinging her arm out in an arc as she did to strike at her. Hopefully, if Lyra timed things right, the combined assault would prove a devastating one!
