Cashmere’s Training (feat. Oleander, Velvet and Alena)

Velvet: Vith ze amount of effort you’ve put into training my cousin, it gives me all ze more reason to go all out!

Hearing that, Alena nodded her head, and a grin broke out over her face. "Believe me," she explained, "if there's one thing
I believe in, it's putting in effort. I didn't get where I was for lack of trying. That's why I'm so impressed with your cousin - I know she thinks the same way. It'll do her well." Her eyes lingered on Cashmere. Even if she claimed not to have much knowledge when it came to grappling, no one could deny that Cashmere had put forth a commendable effort - enough even to challenge Alena herself. She had to be taking the task seriously if she was going to hold herself to the level of an accomplished fighter, and to not let herself be daunted in spite of the odds. That told Alena she had the spirit of a true champion in her. A spirit she recognized in herself.

"But you, though!" She turned to Velvet, standing a little taller with her hands on her hips. "I'm going to hold you to that promise, because I'm going to hold myself to it too!" Already, she could feel her heart pumping a little faster with adrenaline. This, she knew, was going to be a match to remember!

Velvet: Then it’s settled, and just to make ze match one to be remembered for generations.. ve vill BOTH be wearing rashguards!! Hope zat is alright vith you, duchess~

Alena shrugged her shoulders to that with a chuckle. "If you say so," she muttered. Truth be told, even if she came from an aristocratic family, Alena had never been one for high fashion. She liked to look nice to set the stage for who she was and what she could do, of course, but whether or not something was practical tended to come first. But if Velvet wanted to match, she wasn't going to be one to say no. And if they were going to be grappling as much as their respective skills would suggest, then rashguards were probably the most practical choice of attire for both of them. "I'm going to make a bet right now that you'll be needing it more, of course!" she added, laughing at her own boast.

Velvet: Heh, I look forward to bending you until you break..

"I wouldn't get your hopes up there," Alena chuckled. "But I will say this!" She cracked her knuckles to punctuate her statement. "Whatever comes next, I expect to face you at your fullest potential. I can tell how much you want this match, and how determined you'll be to win it. That's exactly the sort of challenge I would want - but know that I want it just as hard. Don't expect it to be easy!"

With all that being said, Alena turned and headed out of the gym, her head held high with a grin on her face. She still didn't quite get her questions about Oleander answered, but that didn't matter in the end. She had still helped Cashmere out in taking the next steps in her journey, and she was impressed with the potential she'd seen in her. And she was ready to face a new challenge in the from of Velvet - a woman who could only make for a worthy foe if she could keep up with the promises she'd made tonight! As far as Alena saw it, the future looked bright. Whether she won or lost, she'd have the opportunity to test her skills against some opponents well worthy of her time and attention!
