Violets and Thorns

Kate sat and looked for a moment into the distance, blushing as she realized what she was about to do, it felt silly, after just a year of a relationship, she felt like she should have some doubt, that there should be something inside that would make her question what she was doing. There was none of that though, it almost felt surreal to her to be so sure of what she was doing.

Alizeh's voice stirred her from that train of thought, causing her to chuckle. "You wanted to burn some calories, didn't you?" She teased before adding. "As for the surprise..." She said, grabbing her wrist and turning her twin golden bracelets back and forth for a second before undoing a latch on one but keeping it there for a moment. "I told you about my dad before... he was probably the the best person I really had growing up, uh but I'm rambling. What I mean to say is, he made two pairs of bracelets for me and Hoshi, a little hobby of his you could say and for the longest time I didn't know why he made two for the both of us." She said, taking the one she undone, off and holding it in her palm. "I know now And I know he'd... no. I want you to have this." She said, holding the bracelet out to Alizeh, hoping she'd offer the hand to put it on. "It's the most important thing I have and it's only right I share it with the most important person too."

Alizeh couldn't help the sardonic smirk that crossed her face as she approached the spot where Kate had picked after finishing the trek across the rocks. "Hey no fair, using my own words against me." Alizeh said teasingly before dropping down next to Kate, leaning on her gently while watching as the purple haired woman played with the bracelets on her wrists.

Bracelets that Alizeh very much knew the importance of from all the stories Kate had told her about. Which funnily enough seemed to be the topic of what she wanted to talk about. "Mhm yeah, I remember what you've told me about him.. but what..." Alizeh said before trailing off as Kate took one of them off, something that she'd never seen before, her silence only growing as Kate then held it out to her in the palm of her hand.

It was by no means traditional, nor was it a ring, but the bracelet with how important it was, combined with what Kate was saying.. it was sounding an awful lot like... "Kate... is... is this a proposal?" Alizeh said in shock with a blush, but she would have enough sense to hold her own hand out, accepting what Kate was offering as she just waited for her to place the bracelet on her wrist.

Kate felt her heart race, threatening to burst out of her chest at any second, especially when she heard Alizeh's question... Right now she could not think of anything more terrifying than saying it was only to be rejected. What if she read it all wrong? What if she was too hasty? Should they have talked about that earlier? And before she had an answer for even one of those questions she was already slipping the bracelet onto Alizeh's forearm.

From the racing speed to a sudden halt, it felt like she was about to have a heart attack as she looked up into Alizeh's eyes, her hands sliding to hold Alizeh's after she put that bracelet on, she wanted her to have it regardless of what would happen next. "It..." She said, taking a deep breath "Will you marry me?"

Alizeh was waiting with a baited breath for the answer to her question. It was not something she had expected despite how long she and Kate had been together so far, yet.. she didn't know how to process it when it was left vague, she needed it to be clear, for Kate to say it.

Thankfully as she clasped the bracelet around her wrist she would do just that. Vocalizing what Alizeh had thought and popping THE question. Almost immediately tears welled up in the greenette's eyes as she nodded shakily before before with a quivering lip she spoke. "Yes. Absolutely yes!" Alizeh said before reaching forward and kissing Kate full on the lips!

Suddenly, all that weight she did not know was growing in her chest, fell away and the tears she was trying to hold back as she spoke poured free. This was everything she could have ever asked for Oh god... I love you so much!" She'd say before her lips were sealed with a kiss, at first melting into it and reaching to Alizeh's face before then pushing forward.

She'd fall on top of the woman, still deep in the kiss but then would roll them to the side, crying and laughing from joy between kisses as they got closer to another drop of the rock, stopping just on the edge, this time with Alizeh above her, reaching out to her cheek "I love you, I love you so much" She'd say, softly looking up at Alizeh as if she was looking at the most beautiful thing in the whole world, which to Kate, she most certainly was.

Saying yes to what was easily the best thing to happen to her was a no brainier and the only way Alizeh could really cement what she was feeling beyond saying yes and was moving in to kiss Kate full on the lips. Holding it even as she was pushed down on her back Alizeh would moan softly into the kiss before going with the motions that Kate pulled them in, rolling them along the dirt until they nearly fell off the rock but staying just out of harm's way. Finally pulling away and smiling softly as she heard Kate reaffirm how much she loved her against Alizeh's hands would gently cup the sides of Kate's face as she nodded along. "I love you too... so much... You're so amazing Kate." Alizeh said softly before reaching down to kiss Kate once more.

Kate did not have the words to describe how happy she was right now, it was like a dream come true and a dream she just a year earlier did not know she would even have. She could stay here like this forever and be perfectly happy, just her and Alizeh who leaned down to kiss her again, having Kate positively melt in her arms as she embraced the woman and kissed her deeply. But then, all of a sudden she would stiffen up as she heard someone's voice cut through the silence.

"What do we have here, isn't it my favourite loser and her bitch ass girlfriend, oh, sorry, fiance~" Kaori said looking at the two of them from the other side of the creek. "I really hoped you'd introduce us by now but I guess you were busy... Though I must say, your taste in women did not get any better over the years."

Alizeh was loving every moment of this right now. Never did she expect that this is where the night would lead for them but she didn't care. It was perfect as far as she was concerned and all she wanted too do was keep kissing her beloved for as long as possible. So needless to say when a voice cut through the peaceful silence she would look up with a frown, especially given what said woman said. Sitting up and gently having Kate get off of her Alizeh would stand up while standing just in front of Kate on instinct. "Hey Kate... You know this bitch?" Alizeh asked in a terse tone while already glaring heatedly at the woman standing just in front of her, ready to throw down if needed to protect Kate.

Kate looked like she had seen a ghost just now, for a moment mechanically following as Alizeh made her stand up. She knew Kaori in some cruel twist of fate found her way to law but they so far have managed to evade each other and Kate went so far as to hope the woman would leave her alone, the hope that just now was completely dashed. "I... I do" Kate said, instinctively going to take Alizeh's hand. She knew that if it came to it, Alizeh could handle the woman just like Kate did before but the last thing she wanted on this day was for things to turn ugly and she held onto Alizeh's hand tightly, wanting her beloved to above all else, stay safe right now.

"Oh come on Kate, I think you owe me a bit more than that." Kaori mocked with a wide grin, knowing she could if nothing else get seriously under the skin of the both of them. "We go way back, don't we? Or did you not mention the little old me to your new output?" She said, leaning forward and tapping her lips with the tip of her finger. "I wonder what else you kept to yourself" She said, shining a wide toothy grin to both, a grin that solid half of was not there the last time the two of them saw each other which did not seem to scare Kaori a single bit from playing with fire. "But since I can't count on a good introduction, I am Kaori..."

Alizeh was in full on protection mode right now, standing just in front of Kate even as the girl held her hand tightly, fully prepared to pull away if it came too it to fight against this intruder if it was necessary. Apparently her now fiance knew her and as the now named Kaori introduced herself, trying to stir up drama between Alizeh and Kate in the process it all became clear. Narrowing her eyes a bit Alizeh would soon burst into a giggle fit, even pointing at Kaori after a few moments as she composed herself.

"Hahahah ohhh haha I see now... Yeah Kate has told me about you as a matter of fact." Alizeh said while looking Kaori right in the eyes. "You're the girl who Kate kicked the crap out of so bad that she never bothered her again and now you're a trainee for LAW. Careful you should know better than to talk to your betters like that little lioness." Alizeh said openly mocking Kaori, truthfully very bothered by how she spoke to Kate, but ever the vindictive one Alizeh was throwing it right back at Kaori, using what she did know of her to her advantage. After all Bullies hated it when your flipped their own insults against them and treated them like less than they were and this was a perfect chance to do just that.
