A Two-Year Celebration Turned Sour

A look of abject panic crossed Marine’s face when Emma said she wanted to go inside and greet everyone. Alanna, having heard part of the yelling, went up to Emma. “Hey uh everyone is busy in there training. We got a surprise for you back at the apartment. You’ll really like it…”
“Yes big surprise. So huge. And ahhh I wanted to talk over lunch… but I want to be a wrestler and I want you to train me!” Marine blurted out hoping that it would distract Emma enough and convince her to leave with them.
“Quoi?” Alanna said, dumbfounded.

Alexios, not seeing the bigger political picture, was pleased that it would be decided in a match. Knowing his girlfriend, she would start training immediately so we went to went to get the punching bag ready for her.

Meanwhile, Helen stood there awkwardly.
”Hello, hi. I’m Helen. You must be Sylva,” she offered her hand to Sylva for a shake.
“You’re not wrong. SOMEONE-“ she glared in Hiro and Kenzo’s direction, “Definitely manufactured this conflict. I wasn’t here from the beginning like Christina. And I may not be the star Fang is, but none of us were even given a chance to try out or make our case. Arbitrary choices were made to turn us against each other. And I know this because I’ve done it before myself. I was… a different person when Alexios cheated on me...

Emma squealed in excitement, her eyes lighting up.

“Oh my gosh, Marine! You want to be a wrestler? That’s amazing! Of course, I’d be happy to train you!”

Emma practically bouncing up and down grabbed Marine's hand,

“Come on! Let’s go, I can’t wait to get started!”

As he was setting up the equipment, Christina approached him, her face still flushed with the adrenaline of the confrontation.

“Alexios,”

she said, grabbing his arm firmly,

“I’m going to need you. This isn’t just any match. I have to be at my absolute best.”

The couple moved with purpose, their focus entirely on the training ahead. Christina’s mind was already running through strategies and workouts, knowing that every moment counted. She was determined to prove herself in the ring and claim her rightful place.

As Hiro was escorting Fang away from the heated confrontation, Kenzo called out, pulling his friend d away from Fang when she wasent looking.

“Hiro, can I have a quick private conversation with you?”

Hiro glanced at Fang, who was comversing with her sister, Sylvia.

“Sure, Kenzo,”

he replied, his tone cautious. He knew better than to trust Kenzo fully, but he couldn’t outright refuse either.

Hiro followed Kenzo to a more secluded area away from the main scene as he would led Hiro into a quiet corner, away from prying eyes and ears.

Sylva was the first to notice that Kenzo pulled Hiro off to the side, but was more focused on supporting Fang at the moment. She would want to find out what that conversation was and Hiro *will* tell her. In the meantime, she had to support Fang; plus she met someone new.

"Well, glad that I'm not the only wrong that realizes something wrong here." Sylva commented, as she shook Helen's hand, "Has this been a thing at this gym before?"

Fang was not entirely sure if there had been other scenarios that happened with this gym. But given the altercation between her and Kenzo, it would be no surprise to her.

"Not much we can do right now about it. Christina and I will have to face each other." Fang commented, "I'll need to prepare. Hiro, can we-" She turned to look at her boyfriend who was...missing. This did not boost her spirits at all.

Alexios looked at Christina and with determination in his voice said, ”And you’ll be ready. I’ll be with you every step of the way.”

Despite the stress of the situation, Marine couldn’t help but smile at Emma’s effusive joy. She then realized she may have done her job too well that now Emma wanted to go into the gym. Hopefully she bought enough time for everyone to have finished arguing. A happy Emma was surprisingly strong as Marine found herself being dragged into the gym.
Alanna meanwhile commented in French,
“So finally you admit it. I’m glad at least someone in the family understands why I joined now. Welcome to the crazy, ma sœur,” she hugged her sister.
