Zira would not be kept waiting long for her opponent.
The slow rhythmic beat of Angel's entrance music began to play over the arena's speakers. The lights began to dim, not quite fading out entirely, but leaving the arena in a twilight-esque darkness. Anticipation began to build, the song reaching an early crescendo before she appeared.
And soon enough...there she was.
Former world champion.
A shining star in the heavenly sky.
A woman who had not stepped into the ring in years, finally making her big return.
Angel.
With a cool smile and a cocky swagger, Angel stepped out from backstage and into a LAW arena for the very first time. It had been quite some time since she had fought in a wrestling match, damn near a decade at this point, but she still looked every ounce the killer that she had been in the past, her body toned, her muscles sharp, her legendary legs looking primed and ready to fire, ready to bring down Zira with her infamous lightning quick kicks, kicks that in the past had shattered mountains of the ring.
Beneath that cool smile and her confident aura, though, Angel's heart was pounding against her sizable chest, beating a mile a minute. It's not that she was worried about the match ahead; far from it, in fact. Zira might have been younger, might have been bigger and physically more imposing, but that didn't bother Angel. She had chopped down redwoods before, and the thought of bringing it to one of LAW's more popular rising stars and putting her in her place brought a delighted smile to Angel's lips.
No, it was the fact that she hadn't been in a real match in ages that was chewing at her, the thought of her ring rust sitting at the back of her mind. She had to bring her A-game tonight, more than she ever had before. She had watched Zira in the ring before, and she knew that even a single mistake would cost her the win in her big returning match.
Not a problem though. She just wouldn't make a mistake.
Head held high, Angel paraded down the ramp straight to the ring, sliding in under the ropes, quickly leaping to her feet to the sound of the audience's loud cheers and cries. They were, of course, pleased as punch to be here for Angel's big return, excited to see a former world champion coming out of supposed retirement to return to the ring again...and of course, they were just as excited to see how Zira would handle herself against a woman like Angel!
Once she was on her feet in the ring, Angel looked toward the crowd with that cocky grin, giving them a brief wave before heading to her corner to await the start of the match. No posturing to the crowd, no playing for their favor. She was eager to get this match started, eager to let her in-ring actions do the talking for her!
