Re: When Sparks Fly - Audrey Trovita Vs Spectre
For a moment, it looked like Audrey was finally going to pull something off. Despite the constant calculating gaze, the redhead managed to catch the ninja robot's wrist, and she knew there that she had to follow it up - she wouldn't easily get this kind of opening again!
But again, somehow, the ninja was ready for it. Audrey staggered back from the kick to the chest, stubbornly refusing to let go of her wrist, but the kick hit a tender spot and left her reeling. The next thing she knew, she was hunched over her opponent's knee as it jammed into her gut, driving the air out of her body. Distantly, she was aware her advantage was gone, if it had ever actually been there in the first place.
She cried out as her arm was bent awkwardly with her elbow forced upwards, and again as she was flung down face-first into the mat. The redhead groaned and rolled over, slowly putting distance between them.
How, how was she so easily countered? Audrey had seen that move dozens of times, and was one of the few, simple ones that she'd learned to pull off with some reliability. And Spectre had reversed it like she could read minds. But that couldn't be true... she was a robot, not a psychic.
Audrey pulled herself to her feet with the aid of the ropes, then rubbed at her elbow, flexing it a bit to make sure it wasn't too injured. All the while, she gazed back at the stoic ninja. Still watching. Still computing.
Everything she had tried so far had been blanked, reversed, or countered. Maybe she was going about this the wrong way. Audrey wasn't going to be able to out-math her opponent, that much was clear. Maybe brute force was the answer. She'd thought earlier that rushing in without a plan was reckless, but maybe what she needed was to do something so braindead, the robot wouldn't know what to do with it.
So she charged, ignoring the protests in her aching muscles. But she didn't run directly at Spectre. Her target was the ropes behind her; Audrey aimed to spring off them and use the momentum to launch her entire body weight into the ninja with a flying crossbody. It would be a heavy hit and probably take her to the mat if it landed properly, giving Audrey an opening to lock something in. All she had to do was aim her rebound and pray her legs wouldn't cave in on her...

Re: When Sparks Fly - Audrey Trovita Vs Spectre
Once Audrey was whipped into the canvas, Spectre considered the combination finished and promptly didn’t follow. Her feet remained in the position of her last offence, with nothing more complicated then straightening back up. When Audrey reached the ropes, she allowed her feet to come closer. She didn’t beckon, but her eyes were thirsty to see what Audrey would do next.
Come little lamb. Run into my lap.
Audrey came again. Fast this time, like she had to. And what did Spectre do? She ran. Right at them, past them and into the ropes on the other side. The two wrestles came locked into a collision course — Audrey high-flying and Spectre’s dash. At the centre of the ring, when it looked like Audrey would catch the ninja in her growing shadow, or perhaps Spectre would duck just in time, she invented an option three: Jumped into a gainer flip. A move that was a backflip in rotation, but your body landed ahead of its initial position.
She aimed to catch Audrey in that rotation. The two bodies crashed and cancelled the other, then spiral into the canvas in a perfect turn of fate — with Audrey crushed underneath in a masterwork counter.
Spectre would land in a side control, laying across Audrey’s prone body. Her immediate sense was to press down on the mat, get to her hands and knees, then throw a leg over Audrey’s body and straddle the chest, facing Audrey’s feet. She cracked her knuckles by squeezing her individual fists, then punched in a straight plunge for Audrey’s stomach.
One. Two.
One. Two.
Left. Right.
Left. Right.
And into a full-fledged song of knuckles mincing a redhead’s pretty gut. She could make an album by doing this… The sound! The smack! The screams!
All of it.

Re: When Sparks Fly - Audrey Trovita Vs Spectre
By now, Audrey was desperate. Desperate just to land a single damn attack on the ninja, who seemed to know her every move before she did herself. She'd hoped that being reckless would amount to being unpredictable. And so she charged and she rebounded and she leapt.
And it turned out, Sepctre had a counter for sloppy aerial maneuvers, too.
Audrey couldn't make heads or tails out of whatever was happening as she flipped, now disoriented, in midair. All she knew was that she'd collided with her target, but her trajectory had changed somehow, and that in itself was not a comforting detail.
The redhead slammed back-first into the ground, but rather than landing atop her opponent, somehow - some-freaking-how - Spectre managed to reverse their positions, with her own body cushioning the ninja's landing instead. That drew a soft "oof" from the freckled redhead, her mind still spinning with thoughts of how the fuck did she do that?!
Those thoughts were chased away almost immediately as Spectre sat herself over Audrey's body, drawing a louder-than-intended moan from her lips and a pink blush to her cheeks. And then those sensations too quickly vanished, replaced by the feeling of air being forced out of her body repeatedly. Each punch sent the redhead's legs kicking into the air involuntarily, and each caused an ever-increasing scream to accompany the splat of fist against flesh. She could feel her flesh bruising and reddening with every blow.
In her newfound status of punching bag, Audrey was too weak to heave her chest or hips into the air in attempt to buck the other woman off her. Her hands clawed at Spectre's hips instead, trying to jostle her one way or another, hoping she'd lose balance. But when that failed to produce results, Audrey rolled with the blows and, as one punch landed, she threw up her right leg harshly, hoping to land a knee or a foot somewhere - anywhere it would reach.

Re: When Sparks Fly - Audrey Trovita Vs Spectre
When the first fist hammered into Audrey’s gut, she slowly drifted into a happy place. A content place. A good place. Where the weather was warm and the trees were green and with sufficient shade. You can lie in the grass. And she did, calmly and tranquilly, destroying this woman’s belly in the process of her relaxation. She could go until it was bruised into black welts. Even if her arms got tired. Which they are. But they didn’t really offer much in return. So even as her strength gave diminishing return, the strain and feeling on her knuckle tips were heavenly.
THWACK
Then the lights flickered. Someone turned on the moon in her peaceful field. The sun was knocked by a foot that first careened into her mask’s chin, crushing her head into itself. Spectre’s legs spread and she became spineless. Her back was like a tall sack of flexible fluid now being whipped with momentum. While her lower-half stayed pinned on Audrey’s chest, Spectre had flopped back into a smooth arch that saw her shoulders land above Audrey’s head, flat and with her head turned to the side. Her tummy stretched until the navel looked like a slit. Her chest was in the air, expanding, retracting. Her arms were straight down touching Audrey's shoulders. The palm face-up and index fingers twitching.
She can hear a song in her head afterward, in the midst of black. Perhaps the floating buffer between consciousness and dream. Like calling up IT to fix your ninja brain, but they say please hold and stay on the line, then a jingle starts:
If you go down in the woods today,
You're sure of a big surprise.
If you go down in the woods today,
You'd better go in disguise

Re: When Sparks Fly - Audrey Trovita Vs Spectre
Every pound to Audrey's gut felt like a brick. From her position, there was nothing she could do to prevent the blows, each one compounding her agony until simply breathing ached. But Spectre showed no signs of stopping. The punches mayhaps had begun to weaken through sheer exhaustion, but to Audrey's prone and injured body, even those with less oomph still hurt like a freight train.
In a desperate, last-ditch bid to do something, the used the momentum from a punch caving in her stomach to lash her leg upwards. Audrey barely registered the success of her kick even as Spectre arched backwards over her in response, taking a few moments simply to relish the feeling of not having her gut pummeled into unrecognizable meat.
But Spectre didn't move after that, and some small spark inside Audrey's brain ignited, even in her half conscious exhaustion. This was an opportunity. At the very least, this was her chance to get Spectre off of her. But perhaps, if the woman had been so truly surprised and dazed by the kick, Audrey could take advantage of that, too.
So she shoved. Her arms trembled like leaves in a hurricane, but she used what little remained of her energy to push her opponent off of her, with the intent then being to roll over and flop her body down on top of Spectre. All she'd need was a few seconds, to just hope her body was heavy enough for those few seconds to keep the ninja robot down, and just maybe, Audrey could commit a massive crime and steal this victory!

Re: When Sparks Fly - Audrey Trovita Vs Spectre
Hoooooonk shoooooo.
Hoooooooooooooooonk. Shooooo…
Went the ninja-robot ( in spirit ), with all its 1s and 0s in assembly all out of whack and in the midst of re-booting. Spectre.exe was a mess. A chin-kicked, sleeping, disorganized mess. Like the aftermath of a stack mash going into the segmentation fault. Termination of program. A drone sound of computerized death as she laid there in her bridged and prone position. The weight applied squished her until her spine was like a snake going off a curb. It bent down as her hips squished into the mat, reached its limit, then her thighs spread wider. Her hamstrings burned.
The referee came down.
“One!”
…Two!”
…!”
Spectre, with her closed eyes and limp body, suddenly came to life with a jolt. She thrust her hips up, hit the mat with her boot heel and rolled them over. She laid on-top of Audrey like a wet blanket, seeing nothing but dream-space. The pinfall now reversed into one of her own.
Honk shooooo.
Hooooonk shoooooo.

Re: When Sparks Fly - Audrey Trovita Vs Spectre
So close!
But not close enough. Audrey's hastily applied pin wouldn't have kept any conscious fighter down for long, but she'd hoped that against... whatever was wrong with Spectre (had her kick done that much damage?), it would prove sufficient. But she was wrong; Audrey gasped in surprised as somehow, Spectre came back to life, just long enough to flip them both over!
The referee restarted his count. Audrey was tired and weak. But she'd be damned if she lost to an unconscious opponent! That would be a new rock bottom, even for her. So, with great effort and a loud groan of exertion, the redhead heaved up, and flopped her opponent to the side. She didn't dare go for another pin, not right away, lest it somehow be reversed once again and she have not the energy to break free a second time. Instead, she rolled to the ropes, and used them to force herself to her feet.
But there Spectre remained, sprawled there on the mat exactly as Audrey left her.
She spent a few moments catching her breath. Longer than she should have. But the longer Spectre did not move, the more her adrenaline died down.
Maybe it was just as simple as putting on a better pin. And if her opponent was unresponsive... she could even make a show of it, perhaps win some of the crowd back to her side!
Audrey approached Spectre cautiously; too cautiously, like a cornered deer who'd just seen the wolf chasing them crushed by a falling rock. She prodded the ninja with her shoe. It drew a few chuckles as well as boos from the crowd, but that didn't matter. The ninja remained motionless. Possibly another trap, but Audrey wasn't going to get a better opportunity than this if she paid for it.
With far more effort than usual (and it took a lot of effort under normal circumstances for her small frame), Audrey leaned down and heaved Spectre up in her arms, cradling her as though one would a baby, and rocked her from side to side. She shot an exhausted grin at a nearby camera, all but saying 'I got this'. All because one little perfectly aimed kick scrambled her little robot processors.
But as tired as she was, the other woman was too heavy to hold for long. Audrey considered slamming her down first, doing some damage. But at this point, it felt like overkill. So she gently lowered herself to her knees, laying Spectre back on the mat, and proceeded to gently lay atop her, hooking a leg, going for that final pin..!

Re: When Sparks Fly - Audrey Trovita Vs Spectre
Where O’ Where did they put the debugging console? It’s gone!
Could create a new terminal. But that button was also removed in the kick. Could just raw-dog the code and hope the program would reboot. Nooo… No. The process was ongoing. Best to just let the protocols inside the ninja’s soul sort itself out. They weren’t seriously injured, to the ninja-brain’s knowledge, so it was best to just twiddle the neuron-made thumbs and sift through some movies in long-term memories.
What was our opponent doing?
Rocking us. The strange audacity put an intrigue from fans alike, who now suddenly felt their throats pinching to be quiet. Bed time.
Rock a bye Ninja in your hide-out.
When the wind blows, the Ninja will..--
Oh, they were being put down already. Spectre’s body, dead-weight and a limp noodle, mostly just melted into the ground like a cracked egg on a sizzling day. Audrey’s weight made Spectre audibly groan as her leg was spread. She turned her head one way, facing the referee as the hand slapped the mat. Eyes closed.
“ONE!”
“TWO!”
The Ninja-Brain was panicked for time and options, so it just slammed on its neuron keyboard so something would trigger.
It did.
Spectre kicked, then rolled and rolled. Her head hit the referee’s shoe but she kept going across the ring for another three turns. Then in another rocking pattern, Spectre stacked herself up and exploded back onto her feet with a kip-up! She was slouching. Her shoulders dipped, head-hanging along with her red hair. Her cheek teetered towards one shoulder and she had a concave curl in her lower-back.
The snoring continued…

Re: When Sparks Fly - Audrey Trovita Vs Spectre
Despite everything, all the pain and weariness and fear, a surge of exhilaration shot through Audrey as she sprawled her body across her opponent's. Spectre had escaped once already, it was true, but remained... unconscious? Offline? Whichever. Point was, she hadn't done anything else since. So now that Audrey knew to be aware of her opponent cheating her way out of another pin, she had a chance to try again. And try again, she did! The count reached two. She was here, she was going to do it! By virtue of some luck, that one kick was about to win her a match!
Until it didn't.
Audrey sat on her ass, palms on the mat behind her for brace, simply staring, mouth agape, at her opponent. How?!
Granted, being aware her opponent might attempt to kick out didn't do much to actually prevent it, but still... that's twice now, she'd managed to escape a pin while still... being knocked out?! And now, here she was, back on her feet again... looking like a broken mannequin. A broken zombie mannequin.... ninja... robot... thing...
Audrey's chest heaved as she took in breath, but pain and exhaustion were giving way to frustration. How was she losing to an opponent who shouldn't even be able to fight back?! Creating new levels of rock bottom was not something she'd intended, but seemed to be something she was uniquely talented at.
With a grunt of effort, Audrey got herself back to her feet, a bit of fire returned to her eyes as she stared down the terror across from her. At least the crowd was enjoying themselves, cheering for... whoever, it didn't matter to Audrey at this point.
"No more fuckin' around," she growled. "Now, you go down."
And she took off at a running sprint, each impact of her feet on the ground sending waves of discomfort through her legs that she vehemently ignored. Once she was within range, she sprang up! Normally she'd aim for the chest, but Spectre was shorter than most opponents she'd been given, so perhaps this time her dropkick would connect with a head...

Re: When Sparks Fly - Audrey Trovita Vs Spectre
Spectre was on her feet completely unaware of herself.
Her body was a shell for pre-programmed functions feeding off user input. The interface was the ring around her. What came close within a radius. Her ears buzzed with sensitivity. So when Audrey came close, tried to smoke her off her feet, Spectre did the amazing thing of…
A sleepy sidestep.
When Audrey hit the mat, the noise made Spectre jump high into the air in a direction. Suddenly, she was awake. The stimuli rushed into her system through her eyes. She spent the next fraction of a second darting her eyes everywhere, grabbing information and situating the saturated colours as she looked left, right, back and forward.
Then she realized.
Gotta land--
And she did, right on the ropes. Her feet were perched on the second rope. Her stomach folded over the top. She grabbed it with both hands, sweaty. When she looked down again, she grabbed her barrings, then looked back over-shoulder, spotting Audrey.
Ropes--Audrey.
Ropes--Audrey.
Then she bounced. Once, twice and on the third, she hopped up to the third rope and started to fly in an arc. She became a piece of small artillery. She span mid-air, flipped vertically like a spinny-top moonsault and aimed to crash over Audrey’s hopefully unprotected gut!
