A Barbarian helps polish up the black pearl!

"You low-balled your guess. You actually got twenty-nine! Very impressive. I think I'm going to enjoy trying to surpass that"

Oscar nodded at Ambre as he quickly wiped the bench before taking his turn to lay down onto the bench and grasp the bar- waiting for Ambre to spot him once she was finished refreshing herself.

"Oh! By the way- I totally forgot to introduce myself. I'm Oscar. Pleased to accept your challenge, Miss Brault"

Oscar looked up at Ambre with his own small smiling- remembering he never really gave his name when this whole series of events happened. Oh well- better late than never! Oscar also made it as clear as he could he knew who Ambre was as well- even being sure to be polite with it just to be on the safe side.

Ambre put down her bottle in thought, she had certainly managed to do more repetitions than she had planned but she was so close to 30.. It was almost frustrating not to have exceeded this number. But it wasn't very serious, she had plenty of repetitions just before this one, with lighter weights of course but it remained tiring in the long term.

“Good…”

The Frenchwoman positioned herself at the end of the bench, stretching her hands forward and under the bar to prepare to support her and let Oscar begin his reps.

"Oh! Nice to meet you! I'm Ambre Br-... Wait.. You already know me?"

Ambre was slightly confused but shook her head as if nothing had happened, nodding at the green-eyed man to signal that she was willing to support him in his repetitions.

"I do. I've seen your matches against some friends of mine. People like Matilda and Honie. I believe you also had a match against that Astrid Ostberg lady at a previous PPV too, yeah?"

With Ambre's help, Oscar managed to lift the bar and started doing his reps. The young man's muscles bulged and tightened as much like Ambre on her set, his progress was slow and steady.

"You've made a real... huff... name for yourself... you know.
You're... huff... quite popular in LAW... and your work is... huff impressive! At least... huff... I think so"

Oscar would fill Ambre in on how he recognized her- seeing that she was confused on how he knew who she was. It didn't seem to affect his efforts in lifting the über heavy bar- but it was clear he was going to hit his limit soon. After getting his last few reps in, Oscar would get help from Ambre to set the bar back in place before sitting up and wiping himself down with a cloth and downing more water. After all that, Oscar had hit... exactly 29 reps. The same as Ambre.

"So... how many did I get?"

The French woman listened attentively to Oscar speaking and counted his repetitions, it must have been even harder to do this exercise while speaking! She found herself slightly embarrassed by his words, she didn't expect to be quite popular by only participating in a single event, and losing her match against Astrid!

"Ahh?... Do you think?..."

But she didn't have time to think about that, she had to count Oscar's number of repetitions first and foremost and had to stay serious.

"Well... I didn't expect to end up in a tie! You also made twenty-nine !"

The French woman smiled amusedly and placed her towel around her neck and shoulders before sitting down on a bench facing where Oscar was sitting.

"Thanks for the training !"

"A tie? Ah, well... I'll take it! That was fun. You're welcome!"

Oscar chuckled as he sat back up, facing Ambre and drank some more water before resting his sweat rang across his neck and shoulders as well.

"Well- I'm sure you're popular from more than those two matches. I'm just listing personal highlights of mine. I can count on one hand the number of people who have been able to beat Honie fairly in a fight. That alone tells me what kind of talent you have"

Ambre was still a little embarrassed by Oscar's words who seemed to be sincere about what he said. The French girl wasn't a very confident woman unless she was focused on being competitive... And she didn't expect anyone to think she was talented.

"Honie is an incredible wrestler...I just got lucky..."

She sighed long while smiling rather rested.

"Talent? I don't think so... I just train every day and try to improve myself to be better... I assure you I'm nothing special... At least I think so. ..”

She wasn't lying. Ambre did not have an exceptional career and only knew how to shine at certain times in her career. But she was not completely sincere with herself, she had shown an incredible improvement between her first and last match, moreover, she had shown that she knew how to adapt to any type of opponent... There is no doubt that she will achieve her goal with a little more confidence and experience.

Oscar crossed his arms casually as he listened to Ambre, humming to himself as he listened to the Black Pear express her feelings on the matter. In a way, Oscar could sort of see where Ambre was coming from. The young man himself believed that a victory he had over a wrestler he idolized had more luck on his side than he'd like to admit after all. Still- from what matches he did catch Ambre in when compared to her debut to her recent match with Astrit, Oscar refused to waiver from what he believed about Ambre.

"Respectfully, Ambre, I think you're selling yourself short. You threw hands with one of LAW's top heavyweights and put up one hell of a fight doing it. But... I'm getting the feeling what I'm hearing isn't you being modest"

Oscar gently shook his head and unfolded his arms, placing his palms on the bench as he leaned forward a bit to address Ambre.

"Now- I'm no therapist, but I'm more than happy to listen if you have something on your mind. Maybe I can give some advice on the matter. That is, if you're comfortable enough that is"

To Oscar, it didn't matter if he only just met Ambre. The Barbarian Prince suspected Ambre had a lot on her mind. Be it a long-time pal or a brief friend, Oscar was always someone who was willing to listen to them if they needed to borrow his ear.

“Mmmmhh..”

Ambre seemed a little hesitant and embarrassed at the same time. It's true that she had excellent matches even if she lost a lot of them, but Ambre didn't see her matches the same way. For her, there was still something missing to be considered a top carder at LAW as well and she thought out loud.

"I won't lie... I think physically i'm stronger than a lot of wrestler.. But I think i'm... lack technicality ?... My move pool isn't that good.. "

She looked back at Oscar, rubbing her head and smiling sheepishly.

"Sorry! I was thinking out loud..."

"No no, don't apologize. I think I know what can be done about that if that's what's worrying you"

Oscar stood up off the bench, stretching his arms out as he continued talking.

"If a lack of technique is your concern, then why don't you learn something different? Expand your arsenal and all that jazz. I'd be more than happy to teach some stuff to you. I'm primarily a powerhouse, but I dabble in submissions- and even picked up on some aerial moves. Just say the word and I'll teach you some stuff. Are you interested?"

Oscar extended his hand to Ambre, looking to seal the deal with a good ol' fashioned handshake- if she wished to accept, that is.

Ambre learned wrestling the hard way. The more she took, absorbed and received blows, holds and submissions, the more she learned how to use them, perfect them and counter them. Obviously, her physique had forced her to be a powerhouse but she had shown a rather remarkable adaptation against different opponents, and even managed to beat certain wrestlers with their own signature or finisher! Plus, she was rather small for her weight division and could probably prove herself stronger in some areas that she had never tried.

"Expand my arsenal?..."

The Black Pearl showed stars in her eyes. Until now, she had only learned to strike with strikes and power moves but had never thought about using aerials or other submission holds, whether basic wrestling techniques or chokes. She accepted the handcuff without thinking and stood up, ready to learn something new to improve her style.

“That would be amazing, I’m totally up for it!!”
