Gohan, with his back pressed against the cold embrace of the bottom turnbuckle, felt his world narrowing to the throbbing pain in his legs and lower back. He's being pushed to the brink and as he struggles to catch his breath, Gohan's eyes found Dan preparing for his next move.
Dan's retreat to the opposite side of the ring was a big relief to Gohan. It seems like he'll finally get the much needed reprieve he desires... But of course, this was wishful thinking. As Dan charged, Gohan could see the determination etched on his face. Time seemed to dilate in these fleeting seconds, the pounding of his heart is a thunderous rhythm in his ears. Dan's form blurred into motion, a predator closing the distance, driven by the singular intent to deliver a decisive blow. Gohan's instincts screamed at him to move, to evade, but his battered body was a fraction too slow, weighed down by exhaustion and the cumulative toll of Dan's previous assault.
As Dan flew through the air, the arena held its breath. Then, with a brutal, unerring precision, his knee connected with Gohan's face, a catastrophic collision of force, Dan's momentum and Gohan's vulnerability. Gohan's vision exploded into a kaleidoscope of pain as the knee connected with his face and his body slumped further as the force of the blow sends shockwaves through his frame. His eyes glazed over as darkness begins to creep in the corner of his eyes and the throbbing pain begins to envelope him.

Re: Another Night, Another Match: Gohan vs Daniel Haines
Dan breathed a sigh of relief, knowing full well that a counter could very well have devastated him. His attack connected though and Gohan looked like he just got knocked out! Dan dragged him away from the ropes and laid across his chest, hooking a leg while pulling it tight to securely pin the man. The official saw this and slid in to place to begin the pin count as Dan was thinking he may well have been on his way to a victory!
"ONE!"
Dan held his breath, pressing down while keeping the leg pulled tight with all his strength. He was trying to make this pin as tight as possible, whether Gohan was knocked out or not Dan wasn't taking any chances.

Re: Another Night, Another Match: Gohan vs Daniel Haines
As Dan dragged him away from the ropes and into the center of the ring, Gohan's mind fought through the fog of pain, a desperate voice within urging him to respond, to fight back, but his body was uncooperative, trapped in the aftermath of the knee strike that had seemingly knocked the fight out of him. The cold mat against his chiseled back, Dan's weight pressing down on him, and the tight grip on his leg were distant sensations, as if felt through a thick veil.
"TWO!"
Gohan's consciousness slowly clawed its way back from the brink, driven by an intrinsic, almost primal refusal to be defeated. Despite the pain, the disorientation, and the weight of his opponent bearing down on him, a spark of defiance flickered to life within him. It was not merely a desire to win but a refusal to give in.
"THR-"
"N-n-not yet," Gohan said weakly as he threw his shoulder up to break the pin. With every fiber of his being screaming in protest, he willed his shoulder up, breaking the pin in the barest fraction of a second before defeat could be sealed.
The crowd's reaction was a distant thunder, their cheers and gasps a backdrop to Gohan's defiance against the darkness that had threatened to engulf him. Lying on his side, gasping for breath, Gohan's world gradually came back into focus.

Re: Another Night, Another Match: Gohan vs Daniel Haines
Dan felt Gohan kick out and he knelt next to him before grabbing an arm to stand up, pulling Gohan with him. "Good show." Dan said as he approved of the grit his opponent showed but was still trying to get to work on keeping him down. Dan tried to get hold of Gohan to lift him up across his shoulders. Dan was going to try to fold Gohan, putting him in a torture rack as he held Gohan up! Dan knew he had to keep going as it would take quite a bit to keep Gohan down. This hold would hopefully work towards that provided he could get it locked in and keep it applied for some time.
Dan knew his reputation as a trainer and his reputation as an in-ring competitor were different. He wanted to be seen as just as good a wrestler as he was a trainer, and focusing on his opponent would help him achieve that as he worked towards a victory.

Re: Another Night, Another Match: Gohan vs Daniel Haines
As Gohan laid on his side catching his breath from barely kicking out, the crowds cheered got louder. His defiance to lose winning them over, now it's just a matter of actually winning the match.
However, before Gohan even thought about turning around and getting up to face his opponent, Gohan felt Dan's strong hands grip his bicep and yank him up. Gohan's eyes widened as the force from the yank felt like it could rip his arm off of its socket. With practiced ease, Dan maneuvered to lift Gohan across his shoulders. Gohan's mind raced as his entire being was awash with a tumultuous blend of pain and determination as Dan secured him in the punishing hold of the torture rack.
"Oh shit. Oh shit. Shit. Not this!" Gohan thought as he laid across Dan's shoulders staring up at the arena lights. Once Dan secured the hold and folded Gohan over his shoulders, the pain Gohan previously felt from the knee to the face is now back to his lower back. "Fuuuckkkk! Let. Me. Go!!" Gohan screamed in agony as his arms and leg squirmed hoping his near enough the ropes for a rope break.

Dan kept the hold locked in and put all the pressure he could on Gohan before the official called for a rope break! Dan immediately threw Gohan down and backed off, stepping away to allow Gohan to get back up to his feet and ready himself. Dan held his arms out and the crowd cheered as he kept trying to rally them as they roared louder for him. He crouched low again waiting for Gohan to rise back up and show that he was ready to go.

Re: Another Night, Another Match: Gohan vs Daniel Haines
Gohan's spine felt like it was going to break at any point as he squirmed and screamed for release. Unknowingly, Gohan grasps at the air has led him to the ropes and the referee once again called for a rope break, which Dan honored by tossing Gohan down on the canvas.
Gohan's body hit the mat with a resounding thud and Gohan, once again, found himself in a familiar place of nursing his wounds. With one arm covering his lower back, Gohan stayed on his side for a bit longer before attempting to get back up. As the crowd's cheers got louder, Gohan thought that they were cheering him on to get back up--and some were, but most were more excited about Dan preparing his next attack.
Hoping not to disappoint the crowd, Gohan attempted to get up. His arms visibly shaking as he attempted to push himself up. Once he was on his own two feet, he was still very much unstable. He wobbled slightly as he turned around, unprepared for Dan's next attack.

Re: Another Night, Another Match: Gohan vs Daniel Haines
Seeing Gohan shaking like this almost felt good in a way as Dan recalled how cocky he was at the start of the match. The bigger man moved in and was cautious as he circled Gohan. Dan wanted to try to swing his leg around and kick Gohan across the abdomen before moving in to swing his fist upward hoping to catch him with an uppercut right to the jaw! Dan knew he had to be smart and not underestimate his opponent, but his plan was to soften him up and keep working on his legs and back if possible.

Re: Another Night, Another Match: Gohan vs Daniel Haines
Gohan watched intently as Dan circled him. He was still very much recovering from the previous onslaught, but he knew losing his focus could definitely make it worse. Seconds felt like hours as Gohan attempts to anticipate Danny boy's next attack, then it happens...
Dan extend his leg towards Gohan's abdomen and through his sheer focus, Gohan manages to catch Dan's leg! Gohan stared his opponent in the eye and gave him a weak smile as he shook his head. "My turn!" Gohan declares as he slams his elbow down on Dan's extended leg.
If the strike connects, Gohan will throw Dan's leg down and follow up with a Belly-to-Belly Suplex, in hopes to capitalize in the opportunity he just created.

Re: Another Night, Another Match: Gohan vs Daniel Haines
Dan saw his leg get caught as the kick was blocked. Before he could react his extended leg took a hard hit and the big man was wrapped up, lift and spun around for a hard landing to the mat on his back! Dan groaned and winced as he crashed hard to the canvas, stunned and losing control as Gohan was rallying! Dan knew this could be trouble but at this moment he was not in much position to be able to do much of anything.
