If the arguments helped Wyvern lose focus, it wasn't Kyoko's plan but it encouraged her to keep them up. Wyvern was prepared for any attack to her stomach until now and the moment she caught her there she made sure to throw everything behind it. The result was one of the best reactions in recent years, Wyvern's abs were unprepared for the punch that came and even though Kyoko could almost feel the years of hard work Wyvern put strengthening her body, her fist still slipped through all that and hit hard enough to make Wyvern completely shut down. She felt the moment the pain reached her brain, and then felt her body give in She couldn't tank it or even hide the pain, Kyoko got her at the perfect moment and got the best reaction she could ever get out of a belly punch. She indulged herself with the sounds and the feeling for half a second before Wyvern fell to her knees, her body trying to stop a full shutdown while Kyoko was given the chance to attack again.

"I prefer giving those body shots anyway." Kyoko said, smirking. She would follow that up with another punch to the belly which was closer due to Wyvern being on her knees to keep her going through her fit while she would stand up and move to the side, trying to catch Wyvern's head as she ran in and turned with it to drop her with a swinging neck breaker.

Suppressing her urge to respond, Wyvern anticipates the second blow to the stomach and forces the rest of the air out of her lungs, limiting the possible compression and tanking the hit much better. It still hurts like hell, but it isn't the earth-shattering experience the unprotected sneak attack was. It is, however, enough to keep her pinned in place long enough for Kyoko to transition to the next move in her chain, grabbing Wyvern around the neck and driving her into the mat with a swinging neckbreaker.

"That pun...hurt worse than the punch..."

Splayed on the ground, Wyvern's gasped response is the only defiance she can muster, her body still refusing to listen to her as she recovers from Kyoko's violent series of attacks. The her eyes are still sharp, though, and trained on the champion. She's not out of the fight yet.

Kyoko's second punch didn't have the same satisfying feeling of shutting Wyvern down as the first one. It still stalled her and that was enough for Kyoko to keep on the attack, able to drop her opponent with a neckbreaker that had her back on the mat. The only thing she could do was try to speak to tell herself she was still in this fight. Kyoko ignored her words, grabbing Wyvern's arm and pulling it up before she would grip around it and start to bring it into a rolling cross armbar.

"If you're telling me my puns can knock you on your ass as easily as my punches can, I best keep at it. Once this arm goes you'll be much easier to beat." Kyoko said pulling back on the arm bar while trying to make sure Wyvern couldn't pull her hand free. She watched the arm bend in the hold and kept pulling, Wyvern had tried to act tough but this pain would be unbearable and the arm could only handle so much pressure.

"Tch."

Wyvern can only click her tongue in annoyance as Kyoko is able to decisively get the better of her in that exchange of words. She hated to admit it, even if only to herself, but the comeback had been snappy. The situation wasn't entirely hopeless, however. Her body has returned to her full control, and not a moment too soon. As Kyoko secures a grip around her arm, Wyvern's free hand whips around and she locks her fingers together, preventing the Champion from fully locking the hold in. Despite the Belly Queen's superior position, Wyvern's freakish strength is able to make up the difference for the moment, halting the Armbreaker's extension mid-roll.

"So what's...hng...next? Knock-knock jokes? Limericks? Or are those too high-brow for you?"

This time, Wyvern doesn't fall into the trap of paying more attention to words than the fight. Even as she's talking, she digs her heels into the canvas and begins to push, trying to shift the two towards one of the ring ropes.

Her grip on the arm was secure, leaving Kyoko to do nothing else but roll back and put some pressure on Wyvern to tap out or spend months letting her arm heal. Her fall was briefly halted by Wyvern stopping her with what could only be called her power out of desperation to stay in the match, knowing she had little chance of winning if Kyoko caught her here forced Wyvern to push herself to keep her arm from being extended that far. It was impressive, something Kyoko noted for half a second before trying to pull against it and force the arm to bend her way.

"I was thinking of a haiku to make for your defeat." Kyoko said, unsure if her words were still distracting Wyvern or not. One of her legs would rise up and aim for Wyvern's stomach, coming down and slamming into her gut to try and stop Wyvern's resistance so she could pull back again, the entire time she felt Wyvern shifting them around, causing Kyoko to lose track of where they were in the ring, but she still felt confident they were away from the ropes.

"Better have-" Wyvern interrupts her sentence to rapidly expel the contents of her lungs, shrinking her abdomen again to resist the kick to her stomach. "-Better have a kireji and a kiko. Ah, but wait, I'm getting ahead of myself."

Once Kyoko's foot is lifted, the challenger sees her chance. Not wasting a moment, allowing her banter to quiet as she devotes all of her attention to her next maneuver, Wyvern arches her back and plants both feet firmly on the ground, all the while never letting go of her increasingly tenuous grip on her captured arm. With another burst of monstrous strength, she shoves off the ground with all of her might, launching off the ground. Despite the awkward position, the Irish wrestler is still able to generate enough force to flip herself over her head, leaving staring at the mat. The changed position isn't enough to break Kyoko's hold...but it is enough for Wyvern to hook one boot over the bottom rope of the ring, forcing a break.

"You'll still write one when you lose, right?"

Kyoko's kick hit a tight core trying to stay strong knowing any unbalance would let Kyoko pull her arm down and finish this match, she ignored Wyvern's resistance and tried to force her arm down, feeling it struggling and starting to give until Wyvern was turning and pulling her leg out to flip herself over and almost turn Kyoko as well to reach the ropes with her legs. The ropebreak would force Kyoko to let go of Wyvern's arm and roll away from her.

"You better do something more impressive than that if you expect to pull out a win after it." Kyoko said. She tried to stand up and wait for Wyvern to do the same away from the ropes so Kyoko could move in again, with how tough she was her only hope now was hitting Wyvern with something too strong for her to get up from.

As soon as the champion is forced to break her grip, Wyvern slides her arm free, rolling away and to a kneeling position. She works her elbow for a moment, ensuring it still works properly. While Kyoko waits for Wyvern to stand, the younger wrestler moves her gaze up and the two fighter's eyes meet. There's a flash of recognition from the challenger. She's seen Kyoko's current thoughts before, many a time. Those who hadn't shared a ring with her could never grasp just how hard she was to put down until they had felt it for themselves. Searching their arsenal for something strong enough to put Wyvern down was almost inevitable. Few had succeeded. She rises to her feet.

"Funny. I was just about to say the same to you."

Moving once more into her fighting stance, Wyvern shifts her weight forward and begins approaching, hunkering down as she moves to keep a tight defense around her core and upper body.

She had to ponder what to try next for a moment while Wyvern recovered. Wyvern had resilience but her core seemed to be a vulnerable spot based on the surprise Wyvern went through when Kyoko hit her there. She knew she could bring her down if she found an opening, the only thing to worry about was Wyvern's counterattacks, so far the challenger knew how to wait for the right moment and counter hits to put Kyoko in a bad spot, so Kyoko needed to find answers to her defenses that would stop her from being able to counter. Once she was on her feet Kyoko noticed her stance and would go low before trying to lock up with the challenger.

"I wouldn't worry about that. A champ knows how to finish her matches, no matter who it is." Kyoko said grappling with Wyvern and trying to slip past her arms, while going low and keeping her body tight to avoid taking any direct strikes if Wyvern tried to hit her, instead moving in and grappling around her to try and get her arm's around her waist, and if she got her arms to lock around Wyvern she would try to lift her up and drop her to the mat where she would stay on top and try to hook her hips with her legs and stop any use of Wyvern's legs.

Seeing Kyoko going for the grapple, Wyvern mirrors her opponent's stance and meets her in kind. Locking up with Wyvern for any extended length of time was a decision few wrestlers would find working in their favor, and the Belly Queen was no exception. As soon as Kyoko makes contact the younger wrestler makes her prodigious strength known, quickly pushing back with enough pressure to overwhelm the champion despite the difference in their height. Of course, Kyoko likely knew that going in. The test of strength was never more than a means to an end, a lure to make Wyvern allow Kyoko inside her reach. A quick burst of movement is all it takes to slip free and move around to Wyvern's side.

"Well, you're not wrong."

Kyoko's plan goes wrong, however, when she tries to get past Wyvern. As she bends her torso to get under Wyvern's arms, the challenger slams an elbow down onto her back with great force. At the same time, she drives her knee up, the two impacting on each side like the jaws of a beast snapping shut on their prey. The pain will be immense, but if Kyoko is able to power through, the powerful attack momentarily costs Wyvern her stability and will make it easy to take her off her feet in the aftermath.
