Tag Debut! Thunder & Lightning vs The Idol Dragons

The LAW arena fell dark and a murmur of anticipation could be heard around the audience as they awaited the next match, and the arrival of a new entity on the Tag Team scene. A pair of fresh recruits from Britain, Storm and Lyssa a.k.a ‘Thunder & Lightning’ were due to face off against LAW’s established Idols; with a debut match, all bets were off and anything could happen.

Team Thunder’s entrance music began to play, and the newbie pair appeared on the entrance ramp through a billow of dry ice, and flickering strobes, before the lights powered back up to let everyone have a good look at the debutants.

“Making their way to the ring for this tag team match… at 315lbs and hailing from Britain, England, it’s Thunder! And! Lighting!!”

Storm, the majority of that 315lbs and the larger of the pair by some distance, strode purposefully to the ring, a flicker of a smile on her otherwise stoic face. Clad in her usual black boots, blue lycra pants and sports bra, the brown-haired wrestler looked like she meant business.

Lyssa was a lot more animated. Walking alongside her partner on the ramp, she eagerly looked left and right, scanning the crowd, flashed a couple of devil signs with her fingers, and grinned as she drank in the cheers. The smaller girl had an outsized presence, with her vivid blue hair, and rougher attire of denim booty shorts, black vest and choker. Visibly impatient with Storm’s slow walk, Lyssa broke ranks and ran to the ring, leaping up onto the apron, and the top rope, with ease. She raised her arms to the crowd, and as Storm entered the ring too, Lyssa effortlessly jumped from her perch and onto the canvas. She dropped her raised arms and, on cue, a flash of white sparks emitted from each of the four turnbuckles, much to the crowd’s delight.

Storm folded her arms, and smirked despite herself. “Fireworks? You got them to do fireworks?” she tutted.

“Damn right! Lightning’s debut gets you all kinds of privileges with the pyrotechnics team!” cackled Lyssa.

The British wrestlers, casually stretching, retired to their corner to await their opponents for tonight’s match.

"And their opponents, from Tokyo, Japan! At a combined weight of 259 pounds...and coming to the ring as the WOWW Tag Team Champions...the IDOL DRAGONS!!"

This was a big occasion, and not just for the fact that it was Team Thunder's first match together. It also marked the first match the Idol Dragons were booked for since they had defeated Irish Oldschool at We Are LAW 6 to become the tag team champions of World of Women's Wrestling, and they had been given the okay to represent the promotion even while they competed in LAW. To that end, tonight would mark the first occasion they would be competing as WOWW champions - and when the two of them stepped out onto the entrance ramp, bathed in blue and pink lights that caught the gold plates of the belts around their waists, they won no shortage of cheers from the crowd! They were already famous idols and rising stars in the promotion, but now that they had proof of their accomplishments, the hype was higher than ever before!

With her hands on her hips and her back pressed against Nashi's in their traditional entrance pose, Yukino looked all the part like the picture of confidence, ready to represent her newfound championship and the promotion she held it in. On the inside, though, she couldn't help but worry. After all, she had a lot resting on her shoulders. What if she didn't live up to the standards of a true champion - would she just be letting herself down? Her team down? All of WOWW down - and her trainer, who had been the one to approve them competing for the titles in the first place? Even when Yukino had competed for the belt in her last tag match, she felt like the stakes had never been higher than they were tonight. She had to win this - there was too much resting on it. If she did anything less than her best, she'd bring shame to everything that had taken her this far.

Still, she had won the title before. If she was enough to bring home the gold, she was surely enough to keep it. She just needed to keep those accomplishments close to her heart, and to fight her hardest. If all else failed...she had her best friend at her side. "You ready for this, Nashi?" she asked, looking back over her shoulder.

It had been forever since the Idol Dragons were booked for a match. Even with their newfound frame Carol wanted them to train harder now that they were finally champions. They had to endure the worst and to help promote WOWW by competing in promotion tours while Nashi still competed in LAW while Carol wanted Yukino to focus only on training. They were in the locker room with Nashi doing a big stretch that caused a crack"AHH That good! it really put my shoulder back in place" She said with a grin rolling her arm around in a circular motion"I've been on a winning streak in singles but it feels go good to be back with you in LAW Yukino" She gave her bestie a big hug before a worker came in"Idol Dragons it is your turn to come out" She said before stepping out. "Lets go Partner" She placed her belt around her waist and went outside to behind the curtain.

The curtain rose and showed the Idol Dragons in their classic pose. The crowd was putty in their hands cheering for them as they finally were coming back in full swing as a tag team. Nashi was as confident as ever but could feel Yukino was a bit concerned. This wasn't a match for the titles but still they had to make their return to LAW as a tag team something to remember in a good way.


When Yukino turned to her, Nashi looked at her and said"Being a champion with my best friend and kicking butt? heck ya!" She smiled before whispering"Let's go that handshake we've been working on" She high fived her before smacking her on the rear and smacking Yukino's belt. This got more approval from the crowd as Nashi and Yukino began to walk down in sync doing some flexing and even mouthing a lyric or two from their song.

Once they got into the ring Nashi unhooked her belt and raised in it in the air. That's not all she moved her body diagonally flexing her free arm to strike Jeice's pose from Dragon Ball to counter Yukino's pose. Once they were done, the duo handled their belts for the ref to hold onto for safe keeping before returning to the corner"So Yukino since you're the brains who should go first?" she asked her partner to see which one will start them off.

The Brits looked nonplussed as the Idols made their showy entrance, although Storm was viewing proceedings with slight suspicion.

“You know Lyss, it doesn’t bode well that they’ve put us up against a pair of champions for our first match,” Storm mused as they stood in their corner, arms folded.

“Pfft, those shiny belts mean nothing,” Lyssa replied. “Just remember two things. Firstly, they haven’t had those belts for very long. And second, and I can’t stress this enough, they are just a pair of fucking singers!!!” Lyssa crassly cackled, loud enough for their opponents to hear.

The ref was still going over the rules of the match but Lyssa confidently stepped forward toward the Idols.

“Hey, me and Storm were just talking, I wonder if you can help us with something. See, Storm thinks we should take those belts and smash your heads in with them,” the blue haired girl grinned. “Whereas, I think we should take them and shove them up your asses. Do either of you ladies have a preference?” Lyssa beamed as she kicked off the trash talking.

At first, when Yukino heard a crack coming from her partner's arm, she spun around with a gasp. "Gah..! Are you okay, Nashi..?" But it didn't take long to set the matter straight. Yukino breathed a sigh of relief to hear she was fine, not without a blush at how she'd gotten nervous over nothing - and Nashi would soon remind the white-haired girl why it was so important she was here. As far as LAW was concerned, this was a triumphant return to the ring! Yukino had been focused on her training, yes - but as soon as she was back in a match with Nashi, she felt like she hadn't missed even a single day, and she could only smile wider at the thought that she was here in the arena for another tag outing with her best friend. When she stepped out onto the ramp and heard the whole arena join in a cheer to see the fan-favorite team back at it again, she lifted her head to the sky, emboldened all the more to give it her all for all her loyal fans and supporters, who were here to see them competing at their best! The theatrics they put on on their way down - with Yukino holding out her hip to bump her belt against Nashi's as she returned the high-five before giving her friend a smack on the rear as well - would only help to get the crowd fired up, and the cheers would only grow louder as they set foot in the ring with a coordinated pose. Yukino mirrored her partner's in dropping to one knee while raising her hands above her head, assuming the Guldo pose.

Yukino and Nashi were treating their entrance just as they would at any of their concerts in their idol days. It was what came naturally to them, and they always loved to entertain the crowd. But their opponents weren't so impressed - in fact, to Thunder & Lightning, the fact that the Idol Dragons had come from the music industry was one reason they weren't worthy of their attention. When Yukino heard their comments, she spun around to face them with a gasp. "Hey..! You know, you're one to talk about us being new to the scene...I'd like to see how you would've done at We Are LAW!"

But the opposing team only had more ire to show them, and Yukino bit her lip, growing tense with each word out of Lyssa's mouth. She wouldn't even wait for the referee to finish going over the rules before she got in her face. The match hadn't even begun, but she was setting the tone for what was to come with the flagrant disrespect she showed the Idol Dragons. It made Yukino's fist tremble and her eye twitch just thinking about it. All she could think about was how much she wanted to repay her foe...and she knew that, with as hot-headed as her partner could be, Nashi's reaction could well be even worse. If Yukino was getting worked up over such taunts, what could Nashi do?

Nothing that would do them any favors, the white-haired girl conceded. If Nashi lost her cool at the start of the match, it could throw off their game, and leave them at the mercy of their opponents. It could even get them disqualified, if she started throwing fists before the bell rang. Yukino had always been the cooler head of the two - and this, she realized, was a situation that called for a cool head.

Holding out her arm to usher Nashi back, Yukino took a step forward, fixing a defiant glare on Lyssa. "Actually," she said, "I think I'll be going first tonight! And as for that question...you won't need to worry about that; we're taking you down!"

The idol dragons made their flashy entrance, the crowd cheered and gave them overwhelming applause and attention. What made it even better was capping it off with a dual Dragon Ball pose. Both ladies gave their titles over the ref to hold onto for safe keeping before hearing the trash talk on display from Alyssa. Yukino went first giving them a smack talking before Nashi had to blow off some stream."Yeah, in fact from the looks of it you two look like you've been to the strip club!" She leaned forward to insult their punk looks with the crowd going."Oh no she didn't."

The poor ref had to be in the middle off all this and had to break up their scrabbling by extending her arms between the two teams so a brawl doesn't break out. Nashi wanted to go first but Yukino put her hand in her way blocking her."Okay Yukino, go kick her ass!" She said giving her friend a smirk as she got outside the ring by the turnbuckle waiting for an opportunity to be tagged in.

Well, the crowd sure loved the Idols. Cute, colourful, choreographed, the crowd were lapping up the presence of this pair of natural performers. Lyssa and Storm could sense the atmosphere around them, they were the underdogs here. Fortunately, the Brits were used to fighting against popular opinion, and they did not mind playing the heel one bit. They were here to cause an upset, after all, so they planned to make people upset.

“You want to see how WE would have done at We Are Law??” replied Storm, raising her eyebrows at Yukino, and then bringing her hands up to crack her knuckles, ominiously. “Oh, I am only too happy to show you!!”

Lyssa was watching their opponents with wolfish glee, licking her lips as she clearly got under their skin. “Pfft, strip club!? Whatever, Princess Bubblegum,” she snarled back at Nashi, before turning to her partner and patting Storm on the shoulder. “Okay big girl, you got this.”

Storm remained motionless as Lyssa turned back toward her corner, having indicated that the big Scot should go first. However, as Lyssa reached the ropes, she leant into them for a burst of tension, and then flung herself into a sudden sprint, charging madly at Yukino.

Meanwhile, Storm backed off, towards the apron. In a little piece of deceit, Lyssa would in fact be opening for them.

The blue haired girl fired a running superkick at Yukino’s head, hoping to catch her opponent off-guard as the bout began.

Yukino knew how hot-headed Nashi could be - sometimes, hot-headed enough to get her into trouble. Sure enough, the pink-haired girl was quick to run her mouth in response to their opponents' challenge - and as soon as Yukino heard what she had to say, her cheeks were tinged by a blush as she clasped her hand to her mouth. "Nashi..!" She knew that Nashi's taunts could get out of hand sometimes, but this surely wasn't going to do them any favors with their opponents. Gritting her teeth in a wince, she began to open her mouth to apologize for Nashi's conduct. But it was clear that Lyssa had no love to share for the Idol Dragons either. Words wouldn't do much to defuse the situation, Yukino told herself. She just had to be ready.

Dusting herself off, the white-haired girl took a step closer, raising her hands to prepare herself. She saw that Storm was standing at the ready, and she bit her lip - she was the bigger of the two, but Yukino had taken down bigger foes before, so she couldn't let herself be intimidated by her size. Ironically enough, it seemed that Storm wasn't the one Yukino should've been watching out for anyway - just as the Winter Idol prepared to square up with the heavyweight, Lyssa came bounding back toward her, her leg extended for a superkick!

"What..!?" Yukino let out a gasp. Thunder & Lightning had thrown her a curveball, and they'd left her with no time to prepare a response! The next thing she knew, Lyssa was already in her face - and just seconds later, her leg swung straight up into Yukino's jaw, landing with a crack as the idol was knocked backward!

Crying out in pain, Yukino's head flew back in an arc. She took a few stumbled steps backward before she fell into the ropes. But she managed to catch them at the last second, her fingers latching onto the middle rope to keep herself upright. Yukino sagged against the ropes, panting for breath. Her jaw was still numb from Lyssa's kick - but when she looked back at her foe, her eyes narrowed into a glare. The match was still young, and she wasn't going to let that stop her!

Pushing her weight against the ropes behind her, Yukino went to stretch them against her back, drawing on the momentum. Then, she let them hurl her straight back in Lyssa's direction, as she swung her arm through the air to cut her off with a lariat!

“Ha! Take that!” Lyssa scoffed as her boot connected with Yukino’s chin in a high-velocity, extremely satisfying smack. Sure, the crowd booed the underhanded opening, but Lyssa dismissed their ire. She couldn’t wait to get to work on these pampered pop princesses! Her victim’s cry of pain and confusion at the sneaky kick was priceless.

The blue-haired brat looked pretty pleased with herself. However, her smirk cooled a little when she watched Yukino ride out the superkick quite elegantly, with skilful use of the ropes not only to steady herself, but to provide some instant momentum for a counterattack! Lyssa had been so caught up in her own dismissive taunts about her opponents, she’d not stopped to consider that they might actually be able to wrestle.

“Oh, shit,” Lyssa spluttered as Yukino exploded out from the ropes and fired a hard running lariat at her. For a lightning-themed wrestler, she’d been caught flat-footed, and the Idol’s arm crashed powerfully into her chest. No ropes could save Lyssa – the blow knocked her clean backwards, dumping her on her back, her lithe legs flailing in the air before coming down to earth with a painful bump.

Lyssa was seething. Growling in pain and anger, she scrambled to try and get back upright as fast as possible, spitefully swinging out a leg to try and trip Yukino up if she could.

Things might've been off to a rocky start for Yukino, with Lyssa's superkick deflecting her back across the ring and sending her into the ropes - but she wasn't about to let herself be deterred. She was perfectly capable of using the momentum for her own purposes, and as soon as she felt her back hit the ropes, she sucked in a breath, leaning back against the cables to draw on their momentum before she shot herself back at her opponent! She needed the opposing team to know that no matter what they threw at her, she wasn't going to let herself be intimidated by it. Even this she could turn to her advantage!

As Yukino caught up to her foe, her arm cut through the air - and with a smack, Lyssa was taken down! The fans burst into cheers at the sight of her dropping to her back, and even if Yukino doubled over forward shortly after, holding her knees and panting for breath, her success had given her the encouragement she needed to keep up the fight. As a smile crossed her face, she began to push herself back up straight...only for Lyssa to hook her leg, sweeping her right off the ground!

"Yow-!!" She let out a yelp as her foot left the canvas, and from there she dropped straight down onto her back. Now, the tables had turned, and Yukino was the one down! She wasn't going to let that hold her up for long, though. Pushing off the mat, the white-haired girl looked to roll herself away, going toward the corner to stay a safe distance away from Lyssa!
