The Rising Star

Benny was backstage in his suit, holding a notebook in hand. He had scrawled notes and had been watching shows at the arena trying to get to work on his assigned project. "Help hype up and build someone who can be a marketable star backed up by in-ring performance." He had been trying to think of the right woman for this. He knew good wrestlers were easy to find around here, strong women were abound and that was one of the easier qualifications to spot. However that magnetic personality, buzz with the crowd and maybe the right amount of sex appeal for greater marketing all coming together was tough.

That is until Benny watched Gemma Faraday return and convincingly defeat Hikaru Sawazaki. Gemma was an energetic, spunky woman who had a surprise win over Alaina Sanders before her break from LAW. Her triumphant comeback, wrestling pedigree, her turnaround from her tag days with Holly.... all of it was screaming that she was exactly who Benny was looking for. He looked himself over and straightened his tie making his way through the hall to a point he knew she would be passing soon. He took a deep breath and as he saw her he stood up as straight as he could, approached with a smile and gave her a wave. "Excuse me Gemma? I'm Benny Burke, LAW talent progression specialist. I was hoping I could talk to you for a minute with what I think is an exciting opportunity to help you grow as a star and be seen as a household name in the wrestling world." Benny said as he walked up hoping that his overly long official title didn't sound too pompous as it pretty much translated to interviewer/agent/hype man/event coordinator.

Gemma was still buzzing from defeating the young woman she’d left in the ring. Grabbing a towel and a bottle of cold water from the ringside crew, Gemma started to dab the sweat from her forehead. The rest of her, however, was looking both tired and a bit glam. Her ample chest was heaving as she took deep, recovering breaths. Her top clung to her body and her glowing skin, and her muscles were looking defined from intense exercise. Gemma had taken her lumps in the match, but in the end she had dominated in that one. The Air Raid Siren couldn’t help but smile, the cheers of the fans echoing in her ears. She had come back out to LAW to make a statement, and that was exactly what she had done.

With luck, Gemma thought, she could keep this up. Her last rival in LAW was Alaina Saunders, whom Gemma had managed to beat, eventually … and now that woman was the LAW Heavyweight Champion. Despite this, however, Gemma knew that many fans still thought of her as half of the failed British Bombshells team. Gemma had done everything she could to escape that stigma, from turning on Holly to letting her keep that nickname. Now, she just had to put in the work of setting herself apart. Apparently, a lot of fans had fond memories of watching the two British girls getting beaten and mangled from post to post … now, she had to give them something else to think of, when they thought of her. This win was step one.

“Oh?” Gemma was snapped out of it when someone approached her. A young guy, snappy suit, nice tie. A far cry from some of the sweaty messes or over-eager fanboys that tried to chat her up after matches. Gemma didn’t catch every word of his title, but it all sounded quite official and important. Gemm flashed him a smile, looking brighter than expected given the circumstances. “Well, that all sounds quite impressive there, Benny … what can I help yeh with?”

Whew.... she was receptive so far, a good sign! "Well Gemma I've been tasked with trying to find new women to hype up, women we can reliably boost the exposure of to expand LAW popularity. From what I see you got it. Fans love ya, you got that spunky, confident flair in the ring and an eye catching look." Benny said checking Gemma out. Her glistening body really did stick out for all the right reasons.

"If you are willing to work with me I'd like to set up a fun fan event. We've got some women doing an autograph signing at the beach, and Inwould love for you to do that and wrestle an opponent or two. I want you to shine so if ya have any women in mind you want to face and shine against name them." Benny said. "They can be anyone. Ya want to tangle with Alaina again? I can make it happen but she's been rolling. My advice? Pick some women you know you can beat. Get more wins and make it against anyone. Annoying twiggy little lightweights, cocky middleweight, a big muscle bound or flabby jiggly heavyweight? You let me know who you want to face." Benny said getting ready to write.

Once he got specifics down for that it would be time for him to chat Gemma up, to really get to know her so he could set up more in the future. For now though he hoped she had an opponent or two in mind.

“Ooh, a fan event!” Gemma cooed, eyes lighting up as she considered it. Of course, the fact that this Benny fellow was doing a very professional job of gassing her up before he pitched it didn’t hurt, but Gemma didn’t mind it. In this business, it was important to take compliments where you could get them. Too many people were all too eager to tear you down … physically or mentally. Of course, there were a few things to think about, first …

“Ooh, an opponent?” Gemma asked, eyes darting to one side as her brain got working. “Well, I’m not going to fib, I would love to get my mitts on Alaina Saunders, again. You know I have a win over the woman who’s now Heavyweight Champion? True facts, you can look it up! Think you have a point though, Benny …

“Y’know, I feel like I’ve always shined going up against bigger gals! They get pretty cocky they can squish my pretty little bod, and when I get moving I can usually leave ‘em gasping for air. Gives me a good chance to show off! So how about we get a couple of heavyweights in the ring wi’ me, really show those fans what I can do! Heck, I even have a couple of old rivals that might be up for a rematch with me. Or, you know, thinkin’ they’re ready for a rematch with me.” Gemma smiled at Benny and flashed a wink, seeming pleased with how this was going, so far.

Benny smiled and nodded, his heart pounding way less now that this seemed to be going incredibly well. "Heh, you know I knew I picked you for a reason. I love what I am hearing right now and I did watch that win over Alaina. It was really impressive." Benny said giving Gemma a nod. "You showed off some blonde bombshell bodyslams on that large musclebound bruiser all right. Right now though Alaina has just won her 4th title defense and her follow up non-title match to boost her current win streak to 19 so we need to build you up a bit before another swing at her even in a non-title match." Benny said stroking his chin a bit.

"Oh! I bet you are talking about Lauren and Peggy! I saw you beat them and in a handicap to boot! I think you have it in you to beat them again but maybe its a gauntlet? Face Lauren first then Peggy hops in and you face her solo right afterward? Two wins at the beach on an autograph signing centered around a pretty high flyer? I think that sounds damn awesome." Benny said. "I can get that in the works, I will be in touch as soon as I can okay?" He added handing over his official LAW business card with his complete title on it glorifying his status as a show organizing low level boss.

"I mean you straining to left them made your butt bounce pretty good, but working out with Alaina I notice ya bent your legs to bodyslam more like she mentioned some form in that interview ya had with her." Benny added. Indeed, checking out Gemma's backside and pretty face were a big bonus of working with her. At least now he was doing it officially and enjoying a bit of a perk. "Also dumb question if ya don't mind. What is it like being leg dropped by a lady like Lauren? Do her fat lumpy legs smother ya and choke ya out under that soft mass? I mean she can't be that tough to wrestle can she or do her slams actually hurt ya?" Benny asked. "I could try to get ya a spa day after two matches in a single day if my bosses spring for it, or I can give ya the bootleg treatment of a body rub from me while ya relax in the sand after harpooning those two oldschool whales?"

“Oh, the reasons to pick me weren’t obvious?” Gemma teased, lifting one arm back to give her hair a playful tousle. The Air Raid Siren was standing tall, back slightly arched and her chest thrust forward slightly. The post-match glow was still on her, highlighting the muscles of her midsection and her legs, and she playfully stood with one hip back to show off her curves a little bit. Gemma was in a fantastic mood, enjoying the conversation, and she couldn’t help vamp it up a little bit as she went. And as Benny kept going, she found herself getting even more impressed.

“Wow, you’ve really done your homework,” Gemma said, after Benny mentioned her prior opponents by name. “Yeah, okay … I’m liking what you’re putting down, Benny. Capping it off with an autograph signing sounds pretty impressive, too. If I can pull off the win, those fans will be pretty hyped to see me. And I think I can put together some fun beach attire …”

“Oh, my backside, eh?” Gemma asked, with a wink. Listening to the question, though, Gemma nodded. It was hard to forget taking a leg drop like those she’d eaten in those matches. “Oof, well, I’ll be honest, it’s pretty suffocating. Having that chunky leg on your neck, squashing the air out of your chest. Then, she just sits there on yeh, and for a minute all you can feel like is all that hot sweaty flesh in yer face! Looking up, and all ye can see is that jiggly, rippling skin …” Gemma thought over his offer.

“Day of fun in the sun does sound nice,” Gemma said. “I mean, you seem pretty confident I can beat these girls in a row. Be kind of embarrassing if we set all this up and Peggy squashes little old me under that chubby Irish ass of hers, eh? But if I do pull it off … maybe a little fun in the sun would be in order. How good are you with massages, anyway? I’m not seeing anything about that on yer fancy business card there, Benny …”

Benny was taking it all in and actually shocked that she was flirting back. He was sorta short, sorta bulky, fit like a guy who went to the gym sometimes but didn't watch what they ate. A male version of bulky thick kinda chubby. He figured his suit hid the semi-gut he had.

"I have no doubt you can win. The Air Raid Siren is about to soar while the Irish Oldschool duo is struggling right now. You will beat them again and then after all this we can set this up for a promo where you can call out a bigger fish." Benny said with a smile and nod.

Again Benny blushed a bit and shrugged. "I am all right, I think you will feel better especially if they manage to get some slams in." Benny said before raising an eyebrow. "What wrestling and beach attire are ya thinking?"

“Well, you sound convinced enough to convince me!” Gemma said with a wink, after Benny talked her up yet again. He was a pretty likeable guy, but mostly Gemma liked how positive he seemed to be about things. Part of that was a sales pitch, she was sure. It had to be, that was the poor guy’s job. But at the very least, he sounded like he believed it. After all, he’d come to her, not one of the wimpy, but sexy-and-marketable types that would sell tickets without ever winning a match. “Alright, sign me up, Benny!”

“Also, I’m holding you to this massage thing, because I am going to be right knackered when all’s said and done and I’ve spent a sunny afternoon slammin’ those big ones around, eh? As for my beach attire, I’m thinking somethin’ … a bit custom, eh? You know, I do my own ring gear and all, have since I first started in this business. I think I can put together somethin’ cute for a bit o’ fun in the sun, eh?”

"Perfect, I can't wait to see what you come up with." Benny said. "I will get Lauren and Peggy ready to go and we will make this happen very soon so get ready." Benny added. "You already beat them both at once so this will be easy. They can't be that tough can they?"

After a moment of organizing his thoughts he smiled. "I can't wait to see ya take it to them and get that win streak going, you got this and I know whatever you come up with for attire you will look great while you do it. I'll make sure you aren't too sore after either." He said with a wink. "I need to get going to set all this up but I will be in touch very soon. If you have any questions at all or anything else you want me to add just let me know! Two matches, an autograph signing and then the massage..... Ok.... one last question are you gonna really like lay into the two and try to humiliate them or are we gonna go the sportswoman route and allow them to sign autographs with us? Not sure how babyface or kinda tweeter you want to be about this but the tone will set up future events." Benny said waiting to see what Gemma had to say.

“Oh, I think you’ll like it,” Gemma grinned, the little clockwork wheels in her head already spinning as she started planning her custom steampunk beachwear for the event. “And don’t worry about me, I’ll be more than ready to pop down to the beach and show those big gals that I’m in charge! I’ll be ready to kick ass, and look great doin’ it!”

“As for your other question,” Gemma said, looking thoughtful for a second, “I didn’t get into this business to really hurt anyone, or be a bully, I’m not my mum … but I’m tired of lookin’ to some of the girls here like a pushover. I’m going to do my best to get a decisive win on the gals, one after the other, but I’m not going to try and bend the rules or be a bad sport. If anyone tries to take advantage of me, though, I’m definitely not going to just lie back and take it! I’ve been a good gal my whole career, for the most part, and I don’t plan on changing that!”
