Shadow Courtship (for Bare)

[Arjuna]

Mara was enjoying the ride on the carousel. Hearing Finlay's words, Mara glanced over her shoulder and replied, "Well, my mother used to bring me and Toni to carousel when we were young. She's fine riding this." It only made sense, considering that due to her inability to get on the roller coaster due to her body weight and size, carousel was a perfect ride for Dana.

After answering Finlay's question, Mara continued enjoying the ride until it was over. Getting off the pony, Mara had a satisfied look on her face. Looking at Finlay, she smiled. "Did you enjoy it?" She asked.

Riding along the carousel and enjoying the joy Mara clearly had he would nod along as she answered his question. "Ah makes sense. A default option but definitely a good one by the looks of it." He said with a chuckle before the ride eventually came to an end and the disembarked.

Smiling at her as she turned to him he would make a slightly bold move and wrap his arm around Mara's shoulders to pull her close. "Yeah. I enjoyed it quite a lot." He said with a smile down to the shorter woman as he began to move forward, content to walk with Mara for now.

"Anything you feel like doing next?" He would ask her while doing so, turning his head a bit side to side, getting a feel for the other attractions and rides to see what may be interesting.

When Finlay pulled her close, Mara let out a small yelp as she blushed. She looked at Finlay and she couldn't help but admire his looks. She really was smitten at this point, though for now, she hadn't voice it out just yet.

"Well..." Hearing Finlay's question, Mara looked at the Ferris wheel and thought about going there next. But then, she decided against it. "Let's buy some cotton candies first." Mara said, pointing at the stand selling cotton candies.

Hearing the yelp of surprise from his date Finlay would chuckle softly, finding her reaction rather cute. As he looked around his eyes also lingered on the ferris wheel, but before he could suggest it Mara requested cotton candy to which Finlay would nod in response.

"Something sweet to keep out energy up sounds like a good idea." He said as they walked over and and he took his wallet out, buying two cotton candies for each of them. Though he wasn't sure he would finish his, but given Mara's reaction he had a feeling she wouldn't mind finishing his off if it came to it.

Mara seemed happy as she giggled playfully while Finlay bought cotton candies for themselves, one for her and one for him. She accepted the cotton candy gratefully before she started taking a bite. "Mmmmm~" She loved the sweet candy floss. While it wasn't exotic foods, it was something that Mara enjoyed eating once in a while.

So, Mara continued enjoying the cotton candy, seemingly relishing every bite. Not long after that, the cotton candy became smaller and smaller.

Taking the cotton candy and thanking the vendor before handing Mara hers Finlay would chuckle slightly seeing Mara's excitement before taking a bite of his own, definitely being a bit more subdued with his than Mara.

"So Mara something I've been curious about something if you don't mind me bringing up... work." He said, pausing to think of the the right word to describe what they did before continuing.

"Think you'll ever try and go for single title? I've seen lots of positive talk about you in the wake of our match." He said as they walked, making small talk mostly, but also curious about what Mara's plans for the future were.

As Mara continued nibbling on her cotton candy, she listened to Finlay's question, and she tilted her head as she gave it some thought. "Well... honestly, I'm not sure yet. I'm not exactly a rookie anymore, but to chase after a title feels a little too soon for me." Mara admitted as she took another bite of her cotton candy. She seemed to savor the taste.

"And I think Toni will begrudge me if I do that..." Mara said softly. "It's already bad enough that her performance in LAW isn't exactly stellar, but for me to suddenly chase after a gold, that'll make her feel more inadequate." While the relationship between the two of them was good, Mara knew that her little sister wouldn't appreciate it if she was to be left behind.

Quietly and tentatively munching on his cotton candy while listening to Mara he would nod softly at her answer. It made sense, after all Mara was part of a big family, to make big moves, it ran the risk of stepping on toes. "Thats understandable. Admittedly it's one of the few things I don't envy about being in a wrestling family if I'm being honest. It must be hard to balance your own ambitions with what's best for you family." He admitted with a nod before giving a small smile to her. "But you're much more capable than I would be about that honestly. You care about those close to you like that. Its really admirable honestly." he admitted with a soft smile before giving a firm squeeze to her hand as he did so.

Mara blushed when she felt Finlay squeezing her hand, and she shyly looked away. Calming herself down, she looked back at Finlay and said, "Well, that's what I am. I really can't help it. Despite everything, I love my family." She then continued munching on her cotton candy. Before she knew it, she already finished eating the sweet treat.

"Ah, so sweet..." Mara sighed. She looked at Finlay to see if he was done eating his cotton candy or not. Then, she looked at the Ferris Wheel and said, "We're going there next." She had one plan in her mind, and it involved this Ferris Wheel.

Giving Mara's hand a squeeze definitely seemed to give a reaction to her which he... honestly kinda liked if he was being honest. Nodding at what she said he would give another soft sile towards her. "I know. Its why you're one of the best people I know." He said to her with a soft nod as the two continued forward.

Seeing her eyeing his cotton candy which was only about a third eaten he would chuckle a bit as he held it towards. "Feel free to take the rest if you want." He offered before nodding at where they were going next. The ferris wheel. "Sounds good to me, I've been wanting to go on that." He said regardless if Mara took the cotton candy or not as he led her towards the next ride.
