Meeting a rising Emerald Star

Scissors weren't typically Kate's style, not predominantly anyway. The way she grappled was based in large part on constant pressure so whenever she had the chance she would squeeze her opponents, limit their movement, deprive them of air, make them struggle harder to get out and tire in the process. The pain was just a bonus but she rarely fought people with frames so much smaller than her own and in this position, she found she could exert more pressure than she could most times and so she would keep doing just that if Collei did not find a better way to get out then trying to force her way out with just her hands.

Collei's attempts to get free failed dramatically, and her face went red almost immediately due to the lack of oxygen. She had to get out before she passed out immediately, but there was only one way out, that she knew. She quickly tapped hard on the mat, signalling her submission, and feeling rather patheitic by the lacklustre start she had shown to the to girls

When Collei tapped, Kate immediately let go and sat up, looking as if she wanted to check on the girl. "You panicked." Huan said sliding between ropes and kneeling next to them. "Perfectly normal when you are new, so don't get yourself down." She continued with a warm smile as she would ruffle the girl's hair a bit then sat down.

"So, body scissors are scarier than they actually are dangerous. For as strong as Kate is, she would have a really hard time seriously hurting you with them." Huan said prompting an awkward smile out of Kate. "But they do suck to be locked in and will tire you out, just got to remember, that's just pain, you can master pain and while she is delivering it, she can't properly defend." Huan continued before taking a pause to see if her student understood. "If you feel ready I can show you how to get out f it. Kate, be a dear and don't squeeze as hard." She continued, getting a nod of understanding from Kate who would wait for the signal to continue.

Collei smiled and nodded at everything Huan relayed onto her, understanding it all perfectly well. She knew that it hurt, which was the exact reason why she wanted to get out so quickly, as her pain threshold was, lower than a good chunk of the LAW roster. She tries to redo her hair, though it only made it more messy, so she gave up on that pursuit quickly. "Thanks Huan, that was not a pleasant scenario to be in" She would reply, her eyes sparkling a little with her warmness.

As instructed, once Huan left the ring, Collei got into the same position she was in previously, before waiting for Kate to re-engage in the same body scissor that she was previously in. There was still a bit of pain in her stomach, but she had to master the pain to be able to fight here.

When Collei gave her the signal, Kete would squeeze again, this time however not as hard as before, still enough to be unpleasant but there was no point for more in that drill. "Grab her arm and pin it to the mat, two hands on her one. Bend it downwards." Huan started, waiting for Collei to follow before continuing. "Now one of your hands has to go from under her biceps and grab your own wrist, then you pull your elbow if the mat and slide her arm downward." In effect, Huan was explaining an Americana submission hold, while gesturing at crucial moments to illustrate what she meant. The exact explanation as to why that hold was good for the situation could wait till after they were done.

The greenette nodded and followed Huan's instructions to the letter, putting Kate into a moderately strong Americana. It wasn't the strongest hold that Kate will have ever been in, but from a Lioness, it was pretty well executed. Collei then waited, both for Kates reaction to Collei's first attempt at an Americana, and for Huan's next instruction or speech.

"Something like this Huan?" The greenette said, her body feeling slightly better, now that it was not being crushed by Kate's rather powerful legs

Kate was only giving a token resistance to simulate a resisting opponent as Collei executed the move. It was rather impressive do her to get it right on the first try and soon enough Kate would tap.

Huan would enter the ring again and pat the girl on the back. "You catch on quick, it took me a couple of tries to get that right." Then she turned to Kate and gestured that she'd be showing something. She got in the same position Collei was in. "You will probably not get a tap like that in a fight, but she would have to let go so it still serves a purpose." She said, executing the same maneuver to which Kate turned to her side, unwrapped her legs, and scooted away to escape the hold. "Makes sense?"

Collei watched with intrigue as Huan and Kate replicated the move in a more natural setting, showing the greenette how the move should be used in practise, which would be valuable knowledge indeed.

"Yes mis- I mean, Kate!" Collei said, quickly correcting herself as her formal attitude got out again, with a bright blush coming from her face in embarrassment. She then stood up, knowing there was far more of this session to go yet.

Hearing Collei's response, Huan snorted and pointed at her purple-haired student. "See, you do look older" To which Kate rolled her eyes and chuckled slightly. "Oh, shush." She replied before gesturing for Huan to get out of the ring which she promptly did. "Let's reset, you can start whenever."

After Huan's command, Kate would get up and stand in position, extending one hand forward for a fistbump to signal them starting. Once Collei accepted she would then skip back a step and start to circle, leaving her sparring partner to make the first move.

Collei got back into position once again, taking one long, deep breath, before fist bumping her opponent, and circling her opponent. She then quickly turned round, ran to the ropes, turned her back to them, bounced off them, then ran at Kate with speed and momentum, before jumping up and launching a drop kick to her abdomen.
