Doctor Fabulous vs. Cleo Hulbury - Apex Qualifier

Doctor Fabulous had successfully gotten behind Cleo, faking her out and then coming to her back with a firm hammer lock applied. It would be the start of something, but at least she could secure that arm to keep Hulbury from fighting back immediately with every tool she had. "Creative?" responded Fabulous with a chuckle. "Please don't invite me to show off. You didn't like it last time."

The Wrestling Professor was ready to start acting again, with something no doubt ready to show just how creative she could be with a hold, but then a stomp went down on her foot. "Ah!" cried the blonde before Cleo had slipped out of her grasp and then shortly after, a kick went right to her leg, forcing it out from under her as she fell down to one knee, wincing. The strike had hurt, and it wasn't anything that Doctor Fabulous could stand up from anyway. But she was certain that Cleo wouldn't allow her that chance to rise again, if she had read her opponent correctly.

Having her arm caught once again by the wrestling doctor Cleo wasn't eager to have her arm worked over any more than it already was and as a result was fully intent on doing whatever she could to avoid such a thing from happening. Luckily a well timed stomp was enough for her to get away, and even landing a follow up kick to the doctor's hurt leg as well.

Smirking despite knowing it wouldn't be long term damage, it would at least give Cleo an opportunity. One she intended to make full use of as she backed up a few steps... before charging forward and leaping up, looking to make a trifecta of kick based attacks with a running pump kick right to Fabulous's face while she was kneeling down!

Doctor Fabulous knew her leg would be a target now--regrettably. She would need to find a way to dissuade her opponent from doing so, and protect it all the while. But as sit stood, she was on her back leg, pun intended as always in the good doctor's case, and she needed to find a way back into this match after Cleo had begun to take over. That wouldn't be readily available or obvious to her though, because Hulbury was already on the attack.

A running pump kick landed flush to Doc Fab's face, sending her falling back to the mat and rolling on the mat in pain, groaning as she held her hurt face. That one stung, far more than she had anticipated in the brief moments before collision. She had to deal with it though, and that meant letting the pain of it wash over, letting her mind recover from the stinger, and then reacting. She was certain that Cleo Hulbury wouldn't make that easy--but then Doc Fab wouldn't make it easy on her either. So for now, she remained face down on the mat, holding her face.

Finally after spending so much of the match on the backfoot Cleo was on her way to making progress in the bout and laying into the doctor with some brutal attacks to the woman that would hopefully keep her pressured. Landing her pump kick full force on the woman Cleo would smirk as she stood back up and looked down on the blonde.

"Not so cute now are you?" Cleo asked smugly before bending down, aiming to grab hold of Fabulous's leg by the ankle, looking to lift her limb up before rolling her over, then falling down at her side, pulling Fabulous's leg with her while wrapping her own around the limb, trying to lock in a high angle leg bar on the woman!

Doc Fab felt her leg being grabbed, and she knew that Cleo was about to continue her offense. Frustrating, but ultimately not terrible. Nothing that the good Doctor couldn't work through. She didn't quite expect Hulbury to bust out a leg bar like that though, and soon Doctor Fabulous' leg was being stretched out, and she let out a cry of pain. "Ahhh!" Closing her eyes tight, Fabulous let out a low groan from her throat as she tried to center herself. She needed to focus now. She was very thankful for all of the yoga she practiced, or else this would probably be more agonizing than it already was.

She allowed herself three seconds to deal with the pain before acting. Three, two, one.

And then the Wrestling Professor acted quick. She instantly grabbed for Cleo's closest arm, pulling it in a firm grip and locking it close. "I'm always cute... And so are you. Just not on the inside," stated Fabulous between grunts of pain. With the arm wrenched over in her grasp, she then grabbed for Cleo's hand. Doc would try to force a break from Hulbury. The hyperextension of her leg hurt like hell, surely. But it was the fine joints that usually caused more pain. With her other hand, Doctor Fabulous would grab for Cleo's hand. Then, she would attempt to bend and twist her wrist to work it down, hoping that she could find a sweet spot to bend it at the side, using her knowledge of the joints to hopefully maximize the pain and pressure on her opponent.

After such a terrible start to the match up Cleo was glad to be taking things to her own advantage now. Bashing Fabulous in the face with the pump kick had especially been satisfying, but the only thing that could follow up the sheer smug satisfaction she felt was the knee bar Cleo had then managed to lock in against the blonde, pulling and stretching the woman's leg out to its absolute limit. Hell even Fabulous's snark couldn't ruin the moment. "You? Cute? Good one!" Cleo barked out with a laugh, choosing to ignore the woman's second statement.

In doing so however Cleo had also unintentionally ignored the woman reaching over to grab hold of Cleo's wrist, grabbing it and pulling it closer, before bending and twisting it back in a agonizing position! "Aghhh!" Cleo cried out in pain before biting her lip. 'Damn.' Cleo thought dropping Fabulous's leg before turning over on her side, trying to straddle her opponent while bringing her free hand down for a punch to the woman's face and, if it connected following it up with a more to try and stun the wrestling professor!

Doctor Fabulous Could feel her leg being pulled even more as she twisted that wrist, trying to send even more sharp pain into the small joints. Eventually, it did the trick. Cleo was forced to release the hold, but she was quick to get to a mount. Letting out a groan of frustration at Hulbury's shift in maneuver, she knew she wasn't able to use her leg immediately to help get out of this spot. But she had options, at the very least.

Cleo wanted to lay fists into her. The first one hit her flush in the face, stunning her briefly. The Wrestling Professor knew she couldn't take many more of those. So she quickly jerked her body to the side on the next attempt, making that fist miss her face. It then allowed for Doc Fab to grab that other arm, releasing Cleo's arm she had just been tugging on and instead slung it around with both hands, attempting a Key Lock. She wanted this girl off of her. She needed a breather and time to relax. And she would bend in that hold until she could hopefully get her opponent away from her, or hurt her further trying.

Cleo knew that she nearly had the wrestling professor here with her knee bar on the woman. If only her arm hadn't been grabbed she may have been closer to getting a submission... But if nothing else it showed the damage to Fabulous's leg was getting worse, and that targeting it was right call. Mounting the blonde however and aiming to send a flurry of punches to that not so pretty face? That was a total revenge call, especially after the first connected and a near euphoric wave of pleasure and vindication went through Cleo as she went for another.

Unfortunately Fabulous had managed to move her head aside, letting Cleo's fist smack into the mat. "Ngh!" Cleo winced out in response to the missed attack before said arm was grabbed by Fabulous and once again locked into a key lock! "Gah! Ugh! Damn you!" Cleo yelled, trying to shoot off of her and pull her hand away in the process, even sending some stomps at Fabulous's body if that's what it took to get the limb back and away from the blonde's clutches.

Doc Fab managed to work over that arm once more with a key lock, trying to force Cleo away. At this point, she seemed to be wearing down the wrists of her opponent, which would likely pay dividends if she kept it up. Gritting her teeth, she pressed back further on that key lock, trying to force Cleo off of her. She held on for as long as she could as her opponent tried to back off, but Fabulous was just trying to put on more pressure. Even as she was being stomped, the Wrestling Professor held on for two of those stomps, absorbing the pain until the third one finally broke her off.

Fabulous immediately rolled away, trying to get to the ropes and holding her side where she was stomped, sucking in deep breaths. "You know, you almost had me worried there. Almost," said Doctor Fabulous with a smile, winking at Cleo as she used the ropes to pull herself up, wincing as she did so, taking the moment to shake out her throbbing leg.

Cleo was dead set on trying to do any kind of damage that she could get against Fabulous while she had the opportunity against the woman. Even if it meant getting on top of the woman and throwing punches down on her face to make her let go of her hand! Unfortunately this meant that Fabulous had the opportunity to grab Cleo's arm and twist it into another key lock! Growling in frustration at this Cleo would step away from the blonde, raining some stomps down on the woman from above to make her let go, needing to do so three times before she was free!

"Agh... hagh..." Gasping softly as she held her arm while stepping away Cleo watched as the professor rolled to the ropes and used them to get up, talking more show as she did so. "Tsk.. funny considering you're looking pretty worried right now." Cleo hissed to the woman before running forward at the blonde, leaping up as she neared, attempting to use the professor's seemingly stuck state to deliver a knee strike into her chest!
