Toshiko Ito vs. Lisbeth Carlsen (Apex Qualifier)

The kick had landed hard to Lisbeth's side. Toshiko Ito watched as Lisbeth stumbled and held her side, satisfied with the strike. It gave her the opportunity to keep making her foe focus on that side for the rest of the match, wearing it out. But it turned out Lisbeth would be taking a different approach as she turned to face the Twilight Edge, prompting Toshiko to cant her head, narrowing her gaze. She moved more to a boxing stance--another form of fighting that Ito was very used to. She had faith she could match it with her own martial arts and adopted a more defensive stance, ready to wait for another opportunity to strike again.

Toshiko watched the step to the right, getting ready to block it, only to see the feint of it and the hook heading to her jaw. Ito turned her face, blunting the full force of the blow as she let out a grunt, staggering a few paces back. Letting out a low groan, Ito shook her head and then went right back at Lisbeth. She threw a low kick towards the side of Lisbeth's leg at first before throwing a palm strike to her opponent's chest. Then she would finish off that string with another strike to her midsection, aiming to hit a rising knee to her gut!

Lisbeth saw Toshiko get hit and stagger but it still was not enough to keep her opponent at bay, not even thinking about that action she would give her a respectful nod just before the first attack was delivered. Lisbeth managed to check the kick, still feeling the power behind it as her shin for a moment felt like it was set on fire. The palm strike she would deflect and step back from the knee but now she found herself against the ropes.

The most recent onslaught from Toshiko forced Lisbeth fully on the defensive and while it worked for now something was bound to slip through eventually. Still, it felt like no matter what she threw at her opponent she would come back with a flurry of attacks right after and the sheer volume combined with the incredible power made it hard to compete with, she had to think if she wanted to get an upper hand any time soon,

The Twilight Edge continued her attack, eventually getting Lisbeth right where she wanted her: back against the ropes, figuratively and literally. Toshiko wanted her opponent to be on the defensive, where Ito was able to fire moves at her rapidfire. And that was precisely what she would attempt, narrowing her gaze over her mask with more intensity, piercing Carlsen. And then she unleashed on her.

Ito fired off with a low kick towards Lisbeth's thigh, aiming to keep her focus down so she would then throw a swift chop towards the crook of her neck. Then, she would use her opposite leg to throw a kick towards Carlsen's side before swiftly following up with back hand strike towards her cheek, and then drew her second arm back and then threw it with a flurry of palm strikes towards Lisbeth's chest and stomach, aiming to just wear down Lisbeth with precise attacks while she had her on the defensive, going off until she felt she could get Lisbeth weakened.

Lisbeth did not have much time to think, about the first kick and the chop she managed to catch. When the kick to her side came, the pain from before was magnified folding Carlsen's body around it right in Tim for a backend to wipe her head to the side. The flurry of strikes to her midsection started connecting despite Lisbeth's attempts at defending from it.

All of that was enough to leave her out if breath, stumbling to the side and into the corner in quite a desperate position even so early on in this fight.

Toshiko Ito had sent devastating series of strikes and blows towards Lisbeth. Her opponent started off a defense strong, managing to stop the first two strikes from hitting. However, when that third hit, the Twilight Edge's assault continued even more intensely. The confidence of her strikes grew, throwing away caution as she laid into Carlsen with the intent to do as much damage and wind her as much as possible, leaving her already breathless and on the defensive. It was precisely where Toshiko wanted her.

And as soon as she got that, she allowed Lisbeth to give herself some space, wanting to lull her into a sense of safety. The Japanese striker kept a close eye on her as she staggered into the corner, narrowing her gaze over that mask as she readied herself. And then she waited for the perfect moment to make her move. As Lisbeth was about to settle in that corner, Toshiko sprinted directly at her and leaped into the air, aiming to shatter her with a jumping knee strike! She wasn't about to let her get by while she had her reeling quite yet.

Lisbeth was breathing heavily, being in the corner was never good and she knew perfectly well that she was in deep trouble, her guard sagging as she watched Toshiko, trying to parse her plans. It was clear that her lessened assault was only a trap but regardless, she was in no position to do anything about it. Then her opponent came at her with a blinding speed and despite trying to guard herself against the blow, it did little. The knee strike sent a jolt of numbing pain through her body. Lisbeth stumbled, her legs giving out as she would slide to her knees, head and arms forward, resting on her foe's body.

The knee strike went flying directly towards Lisbeth, planting Toshiko's trapped opponent. The Twilight Edge felt Lisbeth's body against her as she stared out into the crowd. She knew that her opponent was definitely stunned, and wasn't any danger immediately. That strike was enough to shatter most women. With a soft grunt, the Japanese striker would shove Lisbeth back against the corner, staring at her over her mask. But then, she would take her leg and sweep out Lisbeth's feet, letting her opponent fall onto her keister in the corner.

Ito would then perform a roll towards the center of the ring before swinging right back to her feet, giving Lisbeth Carlsen a cold look. Then, Toshiko would sprint right towards her, turning and throwing her hip directly towards Lisbeth's head, aiming to hit a massive hip attack to further rattle her opponent!

Lisbeth found herself swiftly put in a sitting position in the corner. In most other sports it would be enough to call a fight in Toshiko's favour, which while not the case here, still stung Lisbeth's pride quite a bit. Not that she was in a position to do anything about it in the state she was in. Still, for a moment it seemed that Toshiko had let up on her attack and Carlsen looked up only to find her in the middle of delivering another attack. Before she could react, her head was racked with another heavy blow, leaving her vision swimming as she tried and failed to get up after another attack.

Toshiko's hip landed hard into Lisbeth's skull, rocking her hard as Ito stood in the corner, once more glancing out at the crowd. She had nice, shapely hips, and they certainly made for deadly weapons as well. More importantly, Lisbeth seemed rather stunned, not able to fight back right now. Toshiko stepped back and then looked down at her opponent, scowling behind her mask. She wanted more from Lisbeth, but it seemed like her body was slowly giving up on her. Fortunately, Toshiko Ito knew a way to jolt her back to life.

The Twilight Edge grabbed hold of Lisbeth and pulled her to her feet before shoving her right back against the corner. Planting a foot behind herself, Toshiko pulled back an arm, staring directly at Carlsen's face as she prepared her next strike. It would come in the form of a knife-edged chop, aiming to send a strong, stinging strike directly to the chest of her opponent. It would bring her back to the world of the living if she hit, and that was good enough for Toshiko right now.

Lisbeth coughed as Toshiko was getting her up, she probably could have got up herself but she would not get a chance to test that theory. Then a sudden chop impacted her chest, her body reacted on instinct, drawing in a large breath before coughing.

The sudden influx of oxygen did however have a sobering effect as she found herself in much better control of her body. Making that happen was Toshiko's mistake as Carlsen was determined to prove soon enough. She would spring forward to grab a hold of her opponent immediately, pulling her into a clinch for just a second as she aimed to deliver a knee strike to her liver followed by pushing her away right into a distance for a left hook and a cross.
