Kimiko made an effort to take notice of Claire as she moved in for another strike. Kimiko saw the shot coming right before Claire released. Kimiko moved to prepare herself to block it. But just as Kimiko was moving her arms to protect her other side she felt Claire had already made the blow! Kimiko was just a tad too slow to properly react. "Uwaahh!" Kimiko yelped in pain. This blow made Kimiko stumble a little more than last time, she seemed to be in slightly more pain as well.

Still, Kimiko put her guard back up. Kimiko knew her reaction time was pathetic and she'll need to try harder to read Claire if she was to come on top. She was in pain, but was determined to catch the next hit!

Claire steps back, bouncing on her feet a bit

”you need a second to recuperate, I know that a stern punch to the gut from someone can leave you on your last legs, so do you need a second to catch your breath?

Claire asked, looking at Kimiko with a bit of a genuine smile, it was clear that Claire was at least trying to keep Kimiko on her feet throughout their training session

"No-..." Kimiko winced. "No... I'm good! I can take it!" she once again reassured Claire, with a slight hint of hesitancy.

It was obvious Kimiko couldn't take a hit well. But if Kimiko was anything she was persistent. She straightened her posture to be defensive and having her hands at the ready. "I can take anything you got!" Kimiko challenged Claire. Kimiko wanted to catch one of Claire's punches so much, so she was willing to push herself on this.

”alright, challenge accepted”

Claire said with a smirk, running at Kimiko and aiming another hit at her stomach, she knew even a rookie could see such a blatantly obvious attack at a weak point coming, she just wanted Kimiko to block it

Kimiko took a deep breath in and tried to concentrate before opening her eyes back up. She tried her best to ignore the pain. She was as ready as she was ever going to be!

Kimiko saw Claire running at her, readying for another punch. She wanted to nervous because she couldn't read where it was going to hit, but Kimiko instantly shut down any panic she had, remaining completely calm. Claire released the punch and Kimiko instinctually knew it was going to hit her gut. Almost without thinking Kimiko brought a single hand to intercept the strike. Claire's glove collided with Kimiko's padding with a solid THUD!

Kimiko looked down to see she had blocked Claire's hit. Her expression changed from confidence to elated disbelief. "I-?... I DID IT!" she exclaimed, practically beaming with joy.

Claire stepped back and smiled, clapping with her boxing gloves on

”hehey I knew you could do it, you just have to see where their gonna hit, and react accordingly, you’ll be better in no time”

Claire said as she aimed a soft punch at Kimiko’s arm, as a kind of “congrats punk, you did it”

”so how’re you feeling? Up for a bit more?”

Claire asked with a smirk

Kimiko nodded. "Thank you, Claire. I think I'm starting to learn something. But I definitely need more practice- I feel like I lucked out on that one. I'm good to keep going!" she assured.

Kimiko put her gloves back up, signaling her sparring partner she was ready to go!

”alright, then how about one of these!”

Claire yelled, aiming another hard punch for Kimiko’s stomach, wanting to see if Kimiko really got blocking down

Kimiko was hot off the heels of her accomplishment and tried to read Claire's movements again. Kimiko was confident she could catch another blow from her as she realized Claire was aiming another hit to her gut.

Kimiko prepped her guard and moved her padded hands to catch the punch. Claire released the strike and Kimiko was able to intercept it quite confidently. But Claire's punch was unexpectedly hard to Kimiko. She had a hard time stopping its force with her arm as it drove her hand into her core. "Oof!" Kimiko grunted as her and Claire's hands collided with her stomach. Despite the fact Kimiko caught the blow she didn't have the intuition to know how much strength it would take to stop it. On top of that, Kimiko was never taught to flex her abs to deal with body shots better.

Kimiko winced and stumbled back a bit. Her core was still sensitive from the sparring and match the previous night.

”at a girl!”

Claire said as she stepped back and patted Kimiko on the back

”see I, all you need to do is learn how to play nice with defense and you’ll be golden...a gold star”

Claire said with a giggle, Kimiko could hear a bit more of a girly girl giggle before Claire immediately stopped herself

”so then how about you block a kick too?”

Claire said with a smirk, lifting her leg and wiggling it a little bit
