Black Ice: Skullface (D) vs Weiss Schnee

Unread post by Underdoggo »

Match rules: standard
Victory by pin, submission or KO

The LAW arena was bustling with excitement tonight. The card had already been packed full of intense matches, but one of the headline matches had especially caught everyone's interest. Rumor had it, two new fighters would be making their debuts tonight, and already there was a lot of opening speculation on what these two newcomers would be like.

The audience would not need to speculate for long, however, as one of the newcomers soon made his presence known. Red lights began to suddenly strobe the arena, and "The Widow Maker" by Carpenter Brut burst to life on the audio system. At that moment, a tall figure suddenly strode onto the ramp-- a tall, rather slender figure, a black leather jacket and matching pants that seemed to hug his light frame. His head was mostly bare, revealing short-cropped blonde hair, but his face was obscured by a heavy, skull-shaped mask that sat across his eyes. Even so, his leering eyes were visible under that ghoulish mask, as was his mouth, which at that moment was twisted into a fiendish grin.

The newcomer was holding onto a long, twisted piece of metal piping, which he held like a cane as he sauntered down the ramp as though he owned the whole arena. As he reached the ring, he slid under the ropes and stepped towards the center of the ring, twirling his metal club/cane as he gave the audience a theatrical bow. At this point, the announcer introduced the newcomer as coming from parts unknown, weighing it at 148 pounds, and his name, quite simply, as 'Skullface.'

Casually tossing his cane out of the ring, the man known as Skullface slowly unbuttoned his jacket and threw it into his corner, revealing an incredibly fit bare chest underneath, with well defined chest and arm muscles that defied his slender build. He kept his mask on, however, and continued to smile devlishly as he leaned back against the ropes, waiting to see who his opponent for the night would be...

Tonight the arena was bustling with a different kind of excitement. It seemed more volatile than before. Which was a good thing or bad depending on your perspective. For Weiss it was a bad thing as such a thing could lead to distraction. Weiss was never one to feed off of the energy of the audience. Despite her on occasion playing into them.

As usual she did some basic research on her opponent. Not getting much from the L.A.W front instead only his stage name. Skullface? Why would anyone brandish themselves with such a brutish name like that? Weiss said out loud as she was doing one more check over of her notes. She expects that her opponent will be one of the more aggressive types. So thinking tactically, Weiss could use that to her own benefit. Thinking that maybe she could move Skullface how she wanted without him even knowing. Finishing her final look over at the perfect time, as now she was being asked to do her entrance. Weiss could already gauge what her opponent was going to do. Now it was time to physically prepare for that.
Spoiler
Fog filling the entrance ramp, Weiss would emerge in her usual ice queen image with her music. Despite not being fond of the imagery or name, Weiss leaned into it seeing as it was already hard to shake. That and it sounded cool. Keeping her stoic face, Weiss made minimal contact with the audience on her way to the ring. Only noticing the size of the audience. The lights shining on Weiss and doing wonders to accentuate her porcelain skin. Weiss was a natural beauty and most if not all in attendance agreed on that fact. Glancing at her opponent, Weiss would make sure that he could see her scoff. Already not taking him seriously. As the match had not started yet now would be the best time to feed the audience.

Climbing onto the apron and gracefully flipping over the ropes by hanging on to them. Weiss seemed more regal than a wrestler, giving a royal wave to everyone watching. Purposefully turning her back to Skullface, if he was as Weiss thought surely he’d take disrespect from such a gesture. That was the point. Now allowing the announcer to do his job. NOW STANDING AT 5’4 AND WEIGHING IN AT 114. THE ONE AND ONLY ROYALTY WEISS SCHNEE Once that was done Weiss finally face her opponent. Openly giving him a disgusted look. Oh my, have you no shame in dressing in such a manner? Well I don’t suppose you have the brain cells to process that complex emotion Weiss said as she brushed her hair to the side.

Ryuji, admittedly, didn't know much about his opponent, and only now was taking in bits and pieces of information as she made her entrance. And admittedly, it was one hell of an entrance: the new girl entered the ring moving with a grace worthy of a runway model, her silver hair trailing behind her in a long braid as she played up the "foreign royalty" vibe she was clearly going for. Everything about her, from her aloof expression, to the way she held herself and walked, to the easy confidence she exuded, practically screamed of someone born from a position of power. And then there was her outfit: even from a distance, Ryuji could tell it was finely tailored from high quality cloth, and he found himself admiring its elegant simplicity. Everything about this girl exuded grace and artistocratic finery without going overboard with it, and even though he was going to be pummelling her in the ring soon enough, he couldn't help but admire her style.

He was still going to crush her, of course. It was only fair.

As she finally made her way into the ring and turned to trash talk to him, Ryuji simply smiled. Up close, his opponent (whose name was Weiss Schnee-- definitely German, especially given her accent) was definitely smaller and lighter than him, but with an athletic build that told him she made up for it with speed and striking power. But what Ryuji noticed more than anything else was the scar over her eye. I bet there's a story behind that one.

In response to Weiss' comment, Skullface simply laughed and made a mock bow. "I apologize if my attire offends you, milady," he said, adopting the rasping sneer of the Skullface persona. "I am but a simple fool here to entertain your highness tonight, a jester here to make light before the masses!" He stood back up straight and casually stretched. "Of course, it is often the role of the fool to show the king or queen their own shortcomings...so unfortunately you will be receiving a much needed lesson in humility tonight!"

People would say that Weiss is only keeping up the appearance of royalty, or playing some sort of character. That was not the case at all, Weiss was just truly royalty and carried herself as such. Acting in such a way befitting her station. The confidence exuding from Weiss was just a byproduct of that. Surely something that everyone was feeling from her. Even some people present did not like Weiss, she still required the admiration of everyone present. The ring was just a stage for Weiss to showcase her abilities. Nothing more and nothing less. Now in the ring, Weiss made her presence known early. Not quite caring what sort of character Skullface was. Weiss already writing him off as some sort of brute or joke.

Replying to Weiss’s comment, Skullface laughed it off and mocked Weiss by bowing to her. Going on how he was the fool and it was his job to show Weiss her shortcomings. In all honesty Weiss was impressed that Skullface was rather well spoken. Well it seems that you certainly have a tongue laced with silver. Yet it seems you still have yet to learn respect.
Weiss said as her own response. Not wanting to play into Skullface’s hands by getting angry or showing a strong emotion. Care to share your name? Or are you only decent in how you speak. Weiss said wanting to get some sort of normalcy with her opponent.

Seeing as how the bell was soon to ring. Weiss would rather not be caught off guard. So to begin, once the bell rang Weiss would hold her ground. Keeping a careful grappling stance, one that was responsive. Yet giving Weiss the option to act first if needed. If Skullface was a book already told by the cover, then he would naturally be the aggressor. Something Weiss would have to deal with and counter.

To Weiss' credit, she was not getting angry or flustered with Ryuji. Not yet, at any rate; the ice princess was visibly keeping her cool around him, maintaining her usual haughty arrogance as she spoke down to him. This suited Ryuji fine, as it was going to make things a lot more fun when he finally got her nice and frustrated.

Upon hearing Weiss demand his name, Ryuji laughed. "Oh, there's nothing decent about me, lady! And as for my name...what, don't you have ears?" he scoffed. "The name's Skullface! Because that's what's on my face, see? Made it myself." He pointed to his mask for emphasis. "Of course, I'm sure you were doing something much more important in the locker room when they called my name. You know, like powdering your face, or preparing your wig, or...I dunno...learning at the last minute how to wrestle!"

At that point, the bell rang, signaling the beginning of the match. Seeing Weiss going into a grappling stance, Ryuji mirrored her movement for a few seconds...and then, suddenly, dropped down onto his hands and knees, propping himself up on his elbows as he held his chin up in his hands and grinned up at Weiss in a cute mocking fashion. The audience couldn't help but chuckle at this, as Skullface was not only seemingly inviting Weiss to attack first, but was doing so in a way that mocked Weiss and dismissed her as any kind of threat...

Weiss knew full well how people would try to rile her up. Using various tactics to manipulate her emotions. Now Weiss is hardly infallible, there are moments where her emotions get the better of her. This was not one of those times. It was plain as day to Weiss was Skullface was doing. So wanting to put a wrench into the plans, Weiss played into her cool nature.

Naturally giving your name is just common and proper etiquette. Yet Skullface seemed that giving his name was not even necessary. Instead flipping it on Weiss for something more playful. So I see. Then there’s two answers to this. Either your parents are just as brutish as you, literally naming you Skullface. That or you just lack even the most common etiquette. Most likely the second one Weiss scoffed, crossing her arms now. Allowing Skullface to continue on, now referring back to Weiss. Joking on the matter of Weiss powdering her face or preparing a wig. Even worse, implying that Weiss had just learned how to wrestle. Oh! You bumbling brute! How dare you! I will have you know that my knowledge of wrestling far surpasses your own. Surely whatever you call wrestling is some bastardized version of it. More akin to street fighting. Weiss exclaimed, sure she had powdered her face. Yet to defame her hair and skills, uncalled for and such things must be punished.

Luckily the bell rang at the moment. Finally allowing Weiss the chance to teach this brute a lesson in manners and proper etiquette. Yet even the pretense of this being a normal match was dropped in a matter of seconds. As Skullface dropped to his hands and knees, propping his head up like some child. Showing full well what he thought of Weiss. Why do you continue this farce! You will learn first hand how to respect your opponent! Weiss let out angrily. Dashing towards Skullface, if he was going to keep playing, Weiss was going to make him pay. Once Weiss was close enough, she would pull her foot back and hope to punt kick Skullface’s head to start the match!

As Skullface watched, Weiss seemed to get huffy and irritated at his antics. That simply made him smile even more. Yep, he had definitely gotten her angry...and hopefully, with that anger, she would be easily distracted. As the bell rang, the silver haired girl came charging right at him, lifting a leg back to kick him hard in the face...just as he had expected she would.

At the last minute, though, Skullface would catch Weiss' boot in both hands. "Aww, trying to kick me in my pretty face?" he taunted. "That's not very nice!" So saying, he would stand up, holding Weiss' boot in both hands and forcing her to hop around on one foot. Unless she did something to interrupt him, he would fling her leg to the side to make her spin around, and then tauntingly lean in and boop her on the nose with his finger, continuing to taunt her!

Weiss couldn’t wait to humble Skullface, all he had done so far is make a mockery out of Weiss. Not even having the common decency to share his name. Oh the words Weiss had for Skullface were numerous and none of them positive. Thankfully she was in the position to save her words and instead show her actions instead.

Hoping to start the match off violent, Weiss hoped to land her punt kick to Skullface’s face. Yet like many plans in the ring, it did not go accordingly. Skullface catching Weiss’s boot with both hands. Making matters worse, he continues to taunt Weiss. Oh I will certainly show you nice! Weiss said angrily as a response to Skullface. Even as Weiss was hopping about she was flinging her threats. Yet instead of using this position to his advantage, Skullface was content with playing with her food more. So as Weiss was spun around by Skullface, Weiss would even jump up and deliver and textbook perfect, masterful, black belt caliber (how Weiss would describe it) round house kick to Skullface’s face. Adding more power thanks to the momentum given to her by Skullface.

Maybe, Ryuji thought, he wasn't taking Weiss seriously enough. True, she had such a snooty attitude that making fun of her was actually quite fun. And true, he was confident that he had a weight and height advantage over her. And true, if need be, he wasn't afraid to fight dirty to win. But this match wasn't just about wins and losses: it was also about making the right impression for the crowd. He knew when to make the crowd laugh, and when to make the crowd hate him. And for now, it was time for the former.

That was what Ryuji was thinking, that was, until, as he spun Weiss, she moved with the spin, twirling elegantly..before smaking him hard in the head with a well delivered roundhouse kick! Stars exploded across his vision, and he staggered back, the blow reverberating against his heavy mask. "Gaaagh..." he groaned, clutching his masked face. "Lucky...hit..."

Skullface must’ve thought that Weiss was a jobber. That would be the only way to explain how he was treating Weiss. Regardless of the case, Weiss was going to make him regret such an insult. Weiss now wasn’t looking for a victory, but instead she was looking for a dominant victory. Physical advantages were only one aspect of the fight, and just because Weiss was on the weaker side of things. That did not mean she was bound for a loss.

Hence she moved with Skullface’s momentum using that to deliver and even stronger kick to his head! The effectiveness was immediately apparent as Weiss saw her opponent stagger back and clutch his face. Weiss would not miss this moment to apply pressure. If that's how you rationalize it, I have bad news for you” Weiss said as moved onto Skullface. Weiss would fake that she was going for another blow aiming for Skullface’s head. Instead the true move was a leg sweep to take Skullface down. If this worked, Weiss would flip forward and drop her leg on Skullface’s neck!
