Tiki Lowell vs Raina Jaeger: LAW Apex Main Event Match

Tiki had chosen to be merciful to Raina, but the veteran had not been careless. It was not coincidence that Tiki was holding her opening face down, with the Heavyweight's back to the ceiling. The greenette had her head tilted back just enough to be able to keep an eye on Raina, watching for the moment when she stirs and starts trying to fight back. Tiki had no intention of throwing the match with her theatrics.

Tiki would see Raina's face start as hazy, before turning to fear, confusion, and then anger. It certainly appeared the the Heavyweight intended to continue fighting, so the veteran would have to act in kind. Before Raina could go on a counterattack, Tiki would drop the Heavyweight on her own. Sending her rather unceremoniously to the floor, though the drop certainly couldn't have felt good.

She's lucky I dropped her inside the ring, thought Tiki as she moved to take advantage of her vulnerable opponent. The veteran would drop down to her knees, planting them into Raina's back as she did do. Tiki would then stand back up, planting one foot between Raina's shoulders and grabbing the Heavyweight's wrists as she did so, while keeping her other foot firmly on the mat for balance.

With that set-up, Tiki would lock Raina into a surfboard stretch. The veteran had consciously chosen a move that avoided targeting Raina's head, but also one that would still make herself appear powerful to the audience. Using her strength to hold Raina's body trapped under her foot, and holding the Heavyweight's arms helpless within the grasp of her own. A true power submission that would make Tiki look all the more mighty the more it managed to make Raina scream. "Do you give up?" Tiki called. "Either show me why you're a champion, or admit that I've earned the right to be one!"

Raina had been hauled up into the air, used to display Tiki's power like some prop! Really it was starting to frustrate Raina how important this experience gap was but she refused to admit it, even to herself as she shook her head and tried to turn some lemons into lemonade by pushing herself off Tiki's hands in a effort to bring the woman down with a crucifix pinfall attempt. Only Tiki seemed to pick up on what Raina was doing, or simply had her fill of embarrassing her since she would soon push Raina off, letting the girl faceplant into the mat.

"Ugh! Agh...." Groaning softly at the impact Raina would try and push herself up, holding her face from the drop and trying to gain some clarity after such an impact. However Tiki wasn't done with her yet as the woman would come down, grabbing at Raina's wrists the LAWless champion would soon find her arms pulled backwards, a boot planted on her back, keeping her down against the mat while Tiki pulled back, stretching and straining the champions arms and shoulders to their uppermost limits with a brutal surfboard stretch!

Immediately pain flared up Raina's arms as the stretch continued to burn and strain her arms making Raina bite her lips in pain, but even she couldn't hide the pain for long! "Nghhh gah! Shut up old lady!" Raina shouted out, pain and frustration lacing her voice as she kicked her legs against the mat, refusing to admit to what Tiki wanted her too, but not being able to do much. That being said however the mounting frustration and anger was starting to build up, and Raina would soon start huffing, trying to work up some energy to try and start pulling her legs in under her so that she was in a kneeling position, in turn also forcing her back up and offering Raina some leverage as she tried to reach back and grasp hold of Tiki's own wrists. "Get... OFF!" Raina would yell as she tried to use her new leverage and what raw power she had left to try and pull down on Tiki's arms, aiming to throw the woman off of her!

Tiki knew that she was on the right path when she forced Raina to cry out in pain from the veteran wrestler's Surfboard Stretch. But that pain and anger brought an extra burst of strength on for the Heavyweight. Raina forced herself to her knees. Tiki could still apply the same pressure with her hold, but this most definitely was not a good thing for the greenette.

Tiki had a decision to make in this moment. First, she could release her Surfboard Stretch to protect herself from however Raina would try to escape. Tiki saw the strength and power building up in Raina, and knew that she could probably muster the muscle necessary to power out of Tiki's hold in one way or another. But that might actually be a good thing for the veteran. Since Raina had already been heavily weakened, if she was going to burn through another big burst of her strength, Tiki would much rather Raina used it to defend herself rather than use it to attack Tiki. And with the Heavyweight's burst of strength already bubbling at the surface, attacking Tiki was exactly what Raina would do with it if the veteran let go.

So Tiki resolved to maintain the hold and force Raina to break out of it. If she could shut down the Heavyweight's attempt here, then the match would be all but over on the spot. But even if Raina's burst managed to overcome, Tiki would still ensure that she was prepared to handle whatever Raina tried to throw at her and find some way to take advantage.

Despite Tiki's best efforts to hold her down, Raina's might managed to overwhelm Tiki's. The Heavyweight grabbed the veteran's wrists and pulled her forwards, sending Tiki tumbling over Raina's back and onto the floor in front of her. Having prepared herself for something like this, and expecting Raina to need a moment to recover, Tiki tried to do something as fast as possible to beat her to the punch. The moment her body was able after she had hit the mat, Tiki shot her leg out at Raina's stomach. Then if she wasn't interrupted, Tiki would fire two more kicks into the Heavyweight's body was she moved backwards, before rolling onto her stomach and getting up.

Raina grunted and growled with effort as she pulled and pushed, getting her knees under her gradually but surely, insuring that she now at least had a base to work from going forward. 'Almost... there.' Raina thought to herself before finally roaring in triumph as she would pull forward, aiming to take Tiki off her feet and throw her over her!

Thankfully this seemed to do the trick, forcing the older woman off and away from her, earning herself some brief reprieve, emphasis on brief. Before she could react Raina felt a leg coming up and impacting with her gut! "Ngh!" Raina groaned out in pain, forced to immediately back up and thankfully avoiding two other follow up kicks!

'I wanna rip her apart... But I gotta be smart she's gonna be expecting me to go for some big move.' Raina thought to herself, watching as Tiki started to get up. 'Lets use that.' Raina then thought with a smirk forming on her face as she charged forward, arm out, acting as if she was going to go for a clothesline and banking on Tiki preparing for such.

Assuming the woman did so then Raina would duck down right as she reached the point of no return! Looking to slip behind Tiki and grab her from behind Raina would attempt to lift the woman off the mat! If she was successful then Raina would turn and spin Tiki's body around with her while leaping up, attempting to slam her veteran opponent down into the mat with a massive blue thunder bomb! One where Raina would try and set her weight forward while pushing up on Tiki's hips in an attempt to turn the move into a pinfall right out of the gate!

Though Tiki's submission hold was broken, the kicks that she fired out to protect herself once she had made impact with the mat had worked. Only the first kick had actually connected with Raina's stomach. But with the one kick itself, as well as the Heavyweight's own choice to retreat away from the veteran wrestler, Tiki's goal of creating distance between herself and Raina had been successfully achieved.

But with Tiki's momentum halted, Raina naturally wanted to take control of the flow of the match. At this point, she couldn't afford not to. The greenette was too far ahead of the LAWless Champ for her to have any chance if she didn't start making up ground real fast. Raina charged back in once Tiki's kicks were no longer threatening her, arm outstretched. Either a clothesline or lariat was inbound as Raina's choice of a comeback starter.

A desperate attempt, falling back on the raw strength she's always depended on, Tiki thought as she started to go low, around Raina, underneath her outstretched arm. But the younger wrestler had some trickery of her own with which to catch the veteran. Proving Tiki's thoughts wrong, Raina darted behind the greenette and grabbed her.

"Oh bug-GEEER!" Tiki had started to say once she realized she had been gotten, though she started yelling from being spun around in Raina's attack. "AGH!" said Tiki once Raina had put her back to the mat with her spinning, jumping slam. Trying to make the most of what she had, Raina went for the pin straightaway. But thankfully for Tiki, the force of the impact had loosened the Heavyweight's grip on the greenette's body just enough for Tiki to throw her weight forward and roll off of her shoulders, and onto her stomach. Not to say that this put her in a good spot, however.

'God that felt so satisfying.' Raina thought to herself with a smug grin after hearing Tiki's cry of shock and then pain as she managed to get the older woman with a excellent blue thunder bomb. Of course that wasn't the end of it since Raina would then go for a pinfall attempt on the woman to try and close this match out, hoping the shock and sudden pain of the move would keep the old lady down!

Unfortunately that wouldn't quite be the case for her. Before the ref could even make the first count Tiki would managed to roll herself over, escaping Raina's clutches! "Agh come on!" Raina shouted out in annoyance as she pushed herself up and marched over to her foe, bending down and aiming to wrap her arms around Tiki's waist from above she would try and start lifting the woman up bit by bit until she was holding the large woman aloft with a huff of effort.

"This time... stay down!" Raina would yell as she tried to lift up while pulling Tiki around before throwing herself forward, trying to land a gutwrench powerbomb on the Oracle before once again, if it connected successfully, trying to go right for a pinfall attempt! Though this one would basically just be Raina draping herself over Tiki's body to keep her down, the exhaustion from using big back to back strength moves starting to show.

Tiki was actually somewhat relived when Raina started trying to pick her up. The veteran was concerned that Raina would get on Tiki's back and lock her in a submission hold made especially nasty and difficult to escape courtesy of the Heavyweight's sheer weight advantage and strength. That wasn't to say Tiki was looking forward to most likely getting slammed again, but she considered it the lesser of two evils.

Tiki tried to keep her stomach glued flat to the mat to try keeping Raina from getting anything at all, but the muscles in her attacker's hands gave her fingers the strength to worm their way under Tiki's tummy. Soon the rest of Raina's arms came, and then the greenette wrestler found herself up in the air once more. And then when Tiki was up, once more did she go down.

"Ugh!" Tiki grunted as her back crashed into the mat. The veteran had held her head and shoulders up as much as she could. Both to protect her head from impact and to preemptively guard against a likely pin attempt to follow up the Powerbomb. Raina's pin attempt showed her fatigue, as the Heavyweight was trying just to force her body on top of Tiki's and let her weight do the work.

In response, Tiki pulled her legs back and braced them against Raina's stomach, trying to push the Heavyweight away. The veteran's legs were like springs, trying to push out to their natural size, while Raina's body was a weight trying to compress them down as small as possible. Tiki wanted to pull back a leg and try to force Raina off with a kick, but it would carry match losing risk. If it failed, Tiki's other leg would not hold up, and she would get folded up into a Matchbook Pin that would be hopeless to escape.

So instead, Tiki would take a slower, more cautious approach. With both legs keeping Raina's pin attempt at bay, Tiki would start using her elbows to start scooting backwards. This way, there would be enough distance between the two wrestlers that Raina would no longer be able to come almost straight down on top of Tiki's body and shoulders. Once she got enough space, Tiki would try to make a complete escape from the position by pulling her legs back in and rising back to her feet.

Raina had now landed two big power moves on Raina after using quite a lot of power to escape her previous bad position at Tiki's hands. So to say she was burning through her reserves was an understatement. But what she was losing in energy she was making up for in in big gains of damage to Tiki with such monstrous moves done in succession, followed directly by pinfalls that would cost Tiki even more stamina to kick out of, assuming she was even able too.

Only problem with that plan though, was that Tiki, being the savvy veteran that she was used those long legs of hers to hold Raina at bay, a consequence of the heavyweight trying to use a rather weak cover on Tiki, but that was just a simple matter of the fact that Raina didn't have the time or thought process to go for anything better.

So being held off by the woman's long limbs there wasn't much that Raina could do but watch as Tiki scrambled away from her on her elbows, escaping Raina's clutches and leaving her to fall on her hands and knees, gently rubbing her stomach where Tiki had planted her heels into to hold her off.

"Ugh.. Damn.." Raina thought to herself as she started to push herself up, taking deep, measured breathes to build up some quick reserves, knowing she had to be quick for what came next. After all, despite being unable to get the pin there, Tiki refused to even let it happen, and she saw the look of concern and worry on the veteran's face. It was practically confirmation to Raina's mind that if she had managed to get the pin there, then she may have had this match.

So as she got to her feet and saw Tiki doing the same, Raina knew that all she had to do was keep Tiki off balance, get her off her feet once more, and set her up for one final big move. If she could do that then Raina knew she could finally win this and put the old bat away for good and get one step closer to Apex. So with one more finally deep breath Raina would clench her fist and push forward, bursting towards her opposition with an arm raised, trying to come in at Tiki with all the velocity and force she could muster, trying to land a king kong lariat on Tiki while she was getting up, hoping she'd be too out of it from the previous two moves to avoid it!

When Tiki got out from underneath Raina, they Heavyweight proved unable to remain upright without having the veteran to lean on. So any hopes that Raina may have had of following up and catching Tiki while she was still on the ground to continue her attack were gone. Both wrestlers were back up onto their feet soon enough, putting the fight back to square one.

Despite having taken two power moves back to back, Tiki still looked to be in better condition than Raina. The hits the veteran had taken were more recent, but Raina had taken considerably more. Tiki charged in, wanting to make the first move before Raina could. As it seemed that in this match, the wrestler who went on the attack was the one who took the advantage.

But Tiki wasn't the only one who wanted to attack. Raina ran forward as well, arm raised to signal another Lariat. The last time the Heavyweight had done this, it had been a fake. But Tiki couldn't just ignore it. Raina's attack was far too dangerous for Tiki to try calling it out as a feint and be wrong. But the veteran also now understood that she had to be prepared in the event of another false attack.

Tiki had little time to make a decision, so her solution ended up being quick and simple. Once the two wrestlers could run no further without collision, Tiki would simply keep going. The veteran planted her foot, turned her body sideways, away from Raina's outstretched arm to ensure that she hit before the Heavyweight did. Then Tiki launched herself forwards, straight into Raina.

If Raina's Lariat was a fake, and she broke to one side to get around Tiki, then the veteran wrestler would simply send herself flying beyond the reach of the Heavyweight. But that wasn't what happened. Raina stayed her course, and the two aspiring champions collided with a loud, meaty sound echoing throughout the arena from the force of the impact.

Raina was bigger and stronger, but Tiki led with her shoulder and hip into the Heavyweight's chest and stomach. As well as generating additional force by launching her body into Raina instead of just running into her larger foe. The result was a nasty trade. Both wrestlers were stung by the collision, and staggered in different directions as they tried to maintain their footing. Tiki would manage to keep hers, and was soon ready to go back in for more.

Tiki had come charging at Raina almost the same time Raina began running at Tiki, meaning that the momentum both of them were carrying would be roughly equal to each other as they closed in on one another. Colliding with each other mid way into the ring Tiki had turned her body and leg with her shoulder, carrying with her more force through a better part of her body, while lessening the impact of Raina's own blow, in exchange Raina's greater size and weight would give her a slight edge over Tiki as they clashed with a meaty smack.

Forced to back away from the impact Raina would hiss and wince softly as she was forced to back away a few feet with a groan of pain. "Damn it why won't you just stay down!" Raina yelled out in frustration, the knowledge of how close she had been to victory before it eluded her making her angry, while her own exhaustion and Tiki's skill up until now starting to make her desperate. So desperate that with a surge of adrenaline Raina would start to rush towards Tiki, trying to build up momentum again as she leapt up, trying to make the most of her long, tree trunk like legs as she sent a big pump kick towards Tiki's face, desperate to take the woman down!
