The Fortunate Storm Before Apex: Lyra Heartfield vs. Alizeh Midori

Unread post by Pegasus »

Lyra had quickly ascended above many people in LAW quickly qualifying for their big Apex event in April and going up against some tough customers along the way. She had beaten Sanae Saitou and Helena DuBois to gain some momentum in those matches, but also lost cleanly to Chigusa Yukki as well as to Janella Johnson, but the referee had to stop the match in it’s tracks due to Lyra suffering an injured leg. However, Lyra healed herself and was ready to get back to action as management had a doozy for her on the way. She would be taking on Alizeh Midori, a rising star herself that also recently qualified for Apex. This would be a showcase match right before the big event.

Lyra had heard about Alizeh’s matches and how she always put her best foot forward to make sure she had a clear mind towards the ring. She had taken on tough customers herself in Alania Sanders, Harmonia Edelstein, Honie B. Bea, Panther Risako, and even the Hentai Champion, Rei Tachibana. They were both in contention to be crowned the new LAW Middleweight Champion in addition to possibly being the inaugural LAW World Openweight Champion. Tall boots to fill for both women seeing as how they are both young and winning either title would be good for their resumes. However, Lyra decided to focus on the match for now and worry about Apex in the future.
Theme Song
Lyra came out to mild cheers as some fans were going half and half it seems. Alizeh would have her fans and Lyra would have hers. This gave her flashbacks to her match against Sanae since it was a 85-15 ratio in favor for Sanae since she had a large fan base crossing over from her idol career. Green pyro went off and Lyra tossed out her usual charm necklaces making her way down the ramp.

The following contest is set for one-fall! Introducing first, from Illnois, Lyra Heartfield!

Lyra made it ringside as she took off her pink dress and folded it nicely to place in the corner as she got on the apron. She waved out to the fans and got through the ropes cheering with the fans getting in one of the corners to do some final stretches before Alizeh came after her.

Apex was rapidly approaching, as was Alizeh's fateful match against Karena Meadows, aka Mindy Midnight. While that match weighed heavily on Alizeh's mind, it wouldn't stop her from competing in others, especially knowing how drastically Apex would change the landscape of LAW going forward, so now was the chance to get in as many reps as possible without many lasting consequences. In this case Alizeh was presented with an opportunity against Lyra Heartfield, a relative new comer who made some big splashes, even defeating Sanae in a qualifier of her own!

That alone was enough to get Alizeh's attention but the blonde had already qualified for Apex in record time, so needless to say Alizeh was definitely looking to see how she fared against her. Nodding as he finished fixing her attire in place Alizeh would take a breath before heading out to the entrance ramp, smirking to herself as her music already began to play through out the arena, already sending the crowd into a roaring wave of excitement.

Introducing her opponent, from Port Aransas, Texas, The Emerald Storm... Alizehhhhh Midoriiiiii!

Stepping out from behind the curtain right after her name was called brought another wave of cheers for her as Alizeh stood proudly before everyone, smiling in excitement while raising an arm up proudly for all to see. White and orange outfit glistening under the lights, sending many cheering and whooping excitedly as Alizeh then made her way down the ramp, smiling at everyone and high fiving some fans before leaping up over the ropes and into the ring, popping up to her feet and runing on top of the corner to pose once more for the fans who cheered in response.

Hopping down from the corner Alizeh would then turn and look at Lyra with a smile wave. "Heya nice to meet ya! Sanae has told me a lot about you." Alizeh said, the aspiring idol having told Alizeh about her match with Lyra, as well as some of the other interactions the two had. Though not too much, but more than enough to help build Alizeh's expectations as she stepped to the middle of the ring and offered a handshake to her opponent.

Lyra saw Alizeh make her entrance and the green-haired upstart was certainly someone to make a lasting impression. The crowd were really into Alizeh and her entrance as she jumped down in the ring approaching Lyra. Alizeh mentioned Sanae talking to her about their Apex qualifier and about Lyra in general. Lyra blushed and looked off into the crowd to avoid embarrassment. Sanae talking about her….it kinda made her heart flutter, but she shook her lovey dovey thoughts out of her brain as Alizeh extended her hand for a friendly shake.

A pleasure, Alizeh. Oooh, a radiating orange for your aura. It fits quite nicely. Very dynamic and impactful,” Lyra greeted as she firmly shook her opponent’s hand.

As far as first impressions went Alizeh could say that Lyra was certainly making a good one. The girl seemed nice enough and the mention of Sanae made her go goo goo eyed which already meant she was fond of her friend and likely would be easy to get along with, as well as tease if and when Alizeh felt like it. More importantly though Lyra would offer her hand for a shake making Alizeh smile. "Hehe I dunno much about that sorta stuff but I'll take it as a compliment!" Alizeh said as she grasped Lyra's hand and shook it firmly before aiming to step back with her hands raised in preparation for the bell ringing.

Lyra smiled as the two opponents shook hands for a friendly, but fierce contest. Lyra backed up herself as the referee made sure both women were separated and prepared as she called to the ringside worker monitoring over the starting bell. The worker nodded to her colleague and raised a hammer to ring the bell three times starting this match off.

DING! DING! DING!

Lyra would close her eyes and ask for a vision from the universe on what she could be facing and she briefly saw Alizeh beginning a run towards her most likely capitalizing on Lyra being distracted by her vision. This would indeed give Alizeh some time to run over to Lyra provided the open window didn’t close the moment she would try to strike.

Alizeh would bounce on her heels, in fully prep mode for things to start off after shaking hands with Lyra. Nodding to herself she would break into a run as soon as the bell would ring. Oddly though Lyra wasn't doing anything, just standing there with her eyes closed making Alizeh wonder in thought... Though if her opponent wasn't prepared it was no sweat off Alizeh's back. Leaping up as she approached Alizeh would start things off strong, aiming to connect a massive pump kick to her opponent's face to start things off!

Lyra would just stand there having her vision as some of the crowd just kinda facepalmed a little bit knowing this left the fortune teller wide open. Alizeh took the chance and ran forward trying to take an early lead in the match. She thrusted forward a pump kick to try for the face of Lyra, but Lyra’s eyes shot open and she zipped to the side leaving Alizeh to kick the corner pad instead! Lyra smirked and then tried kicking the back of Alizeh into the corner and try to shoot a right forearm to the head!

Truth be told Alizeh, while hearing rumors of Lyra being some kind of fortune teller didn't really know what to expect. But if the girl was gonna keep her eyes closed she wasn't going to question it and instead sought to make the most of it. But as she approached Lyra suddenly zipped away allowing Alizeh to miss and barely stop herself from getting her leg caught on the corner as her foot hit the mat. But this left her stumbling from the landing and totally vulnerable to a kick from behind that sent her into the corner! "NGH!" Alizeh yelled out, not just from the impact to the corner, but from the elbow to back of her head, sandwiching her between Lyra and the corner!

Lyra would then lift Alizeh by her waist and looked to callback to her match with Chigusa Yukki actually picking up a little gem from the former Wrestle Angels wrestler. She would lean trying to give Alizeh a German Suplex! If that worked, Lyra would hang onto the waist lifting Alizeh for a brutal second one. If that one hit, Lyra would try to finish it off with a third German Suplex hoping Alizeh would go flying across the ring on this final one. Lyra threw Alizeh in the back of her and the fans were cheering loudly as the fortune teller fed off them hoping to keep her momentum going.

Alizeh groaned in pain against the corner, somewhat stunned from the hit to the back of her head. Unfortunately Lyra would take advantage of this, wrapping her arms around Alizeh's waist in an all too familiar position. "Wha-Agh!" Yelling in surprise and then pain Alizeh would meet the mat back first with Lyra's first suplex and unfortunately she would be helpless as the blonde then turned over and hit Alizeh with a second before turning over once more and then hitting her with a third! "Ughhhhh!" Groaning in pain from the last suplex Alizeh would slump over before falling onto her stomach, holding her back in pain and stunned from the early onset of damage Lyra had laid into her with in the early goings of the match.
