A corsair's reflection (For xalex)

Mandy would blink as Karin bombarded her with compliments, making the corsair crack a small smile. She wasn’t used to people being super nice to her but... damn, it felt good. Really good!
"Oh come on, as if I'd be a big enough bitch to ditch-"
Mandy was cut off and yelped in shock as Karin pulled her inside of the club, having a similar effect to when an infant grabs your finger and you can't pull away. The Loud music and crowds of people would sir a bit of anxiety in Mandy, having not been around either in years... it was almost overwhelming, but standing by someone she knew was helping as they got to the bar.
"O-oh yeah. A cocktail for me, thanks"
Holding onto the bar counter as if she'd fly away into space if she let go, Mandy would nod at Karin and do her best to calm down.

Karin would grab the drinks from the barkeeper as soon as she came back with them. She turned around and handed the cocktail toward Mandy and smiled happily. “here you go big girl!” Karin would use her bottle to gently tap it against the glass of her new friend.

Karin then to a big sip and sight afterwards. “to be honest didn´t really expect you to be a fan of such sweet drinks!” she would smirk at Mandy with a big grin on her face. “Tell me about yourself! You said you work as a wrestler, I assume you are under contract at law too?” would Karin say. “never saw you before backstage? Are you new? Were you on big break?” Karin would take another sip form her drink and look at the muscular woman in front of her. Her smile would get smaller as she saw how Mandy was holding on to the counter and looking not as confident and strong as before…

Mandy took the glass after Karin kinked it, but started leaning back a big as the young lady bombarded her with questions.

"Oh uh, well- just one thing at a time please"

The corsair nervously laughed before clearing her throat and continuing.

"Let's see... yes I'm contracted under LAW, I've been here for a few months, and yes I'm currently taking a break that's lasted for... uh... several months"

Mandy awkwardly tapped the side of her glass before sipping down her cocktail.

"It's been a lot, actually. I've just... y'know... been thinking about stuff"

Karin would take another sip from her bottle before looking down at the table and just talking on... “I know what you go through… you often ask yourself if the roll you have in law is the roll you actually want to play… Is that what the management went you to be what you actually are or are you just putting up an act… Can you life with what you do, does it make you happy…” Would Karin shake her head and tried to put on a smile.

“Mind if I ask what you been thinking about? What has been on your mind?” Karin would take another sip. “I am here to listen if you need to vent or talk about anything!”

Mandy sipped from her cocktail again and stared at Karin for a few moments, just listening to the woman. She could relate to a degree about not knowing who she was after all. When asked about what was on her mind, Mandy took a deep breath and slowly started to talk.

"Well... I guess... if I'm being honest here, I didn't actually sign up to be a big time wrestler or to learn or to even put on a show. Hell- I didn't even use my real name when I joined. When I got here I... only wanted to ruin things for someone else. Have you ever heard of a guy named Oscar Orelash?"

Mandy took another swig from her drink, seeming like just saying his name was enough to make her drink

"He's... well... he's my cousin. Family. The reason I signed up was to make him quit or ruin his career"

Karin would rub over her chin and look upwards trying to think about the name. It was ringing a bell but she couldn´t really tell who it was. Karin would look a little bit surprised when she heard that Mandy was out to ruin the career of her own cousin. That was unexpected…

Karin would lean over to the bar and after a moment of thinking she would ask. “can I ask you why? Why are you out there trying to ruin his carrier?” Karin would wait for an answer while looking at Mandy with a serious face. “did he do something to you or?” The young woman was kind of complexed right now. She never really understood why people in law where holding on to such long grudges, trying to ruin each other’s lives or carriers? Why couldn´t people just get over it…. Karin would still look at Mandy with an interested look on her view.

Mandy took another big gulp from the cocktail, flagging the bartender down for another before answering Karin.

"Well... he grew up with me because of some really crappy stuff that happened with his folks and... I dunno. I did some searching when he started getting into wrestling- mainly this LAW stuff. I got the idea that he only joined to fight and get tangled up with hot women and got pissed off that he'd ditch me to fly all the way from Toronto to Japan.

Mandy dryly chuckled and sighed.

"Then again... I chased him all the way over here to try and ruin him so that's just the pot calling the kettle black. Didn't know the first thing about wrestling either at first but tried to beat up his girlfriend. So stupid..."

With a THUNK, Mandy placed her head on the bar counter with a groan. She just seemed to be cringing at herself right now.

Karin would look a bit worried when Mandy slammed her head into the counter and she steppd in closer… she put her hand on the back of the big woman and gently rubbed over it. “And why do you have the need to run after him to ruin his life? What drives you? Why you hate him that much?” Asked the girl with a worried voice. “I think you are a great woman and deserve to have fun in law! You should take this chance and live your best life here, fight hot woman in intensive and rough fights! Go to partys and have wild one!” Karin would take another sip from her drink… “Living your best life and outshining him will show him anyway!”

Mandy turned her head to look over at Karin

"I think... I think I remember standing in the ring and screaming something about him leaving family behind but in all honesty, I think I was just jealous that he finally found something he wanted to do in life"

Mandy lifted her head from the table as she continued.

"Partying sounds good and all but... I dunno. It's all I ever tried to do back home in Toronto but nobody really wanted me around. Plus talking to people isn't... really my strongest skill, y'know?"

Karin would giggle a little bit. “I like having you around!” would she say with a huge grin on her face ordering another drink. “you seem like a honest woman, and sadly that became rare! Maybe we can rock law together beating up hot woman left and right!”
Karin would put her hand off the back of Mandy and she would lean against the counter. “but isn´t it a good thing that he went out to make his own way? Shouldn´t you try to do the same instead of trying to burn down what he tries to build? You are strong and powerful! Use this to build you own legacy! Become a legend of law!” Would Karin with a grin and taking another sip.
