“The Anomaly” Jonathan Steele vs. Selket (The Anomaly’s Sanctuary Match (Cinematic Match)

[Pegasus]

This wasn’t possible. The Anomaly could feel pain in his eyes and he was visibly vulnerable against Selket. The priestess mocked him as expected and he saw the purple-robed supernaturalist come up to him as her clothes were drenched from laying in the fountain water. Selket launched an arm forward hitting The Anomaly from down under with the demon viably screaming going to his knees and bowing down in front of Selket. That confirmed that Selket had somehow neutralized his ability to become immune to natural pain. She had found a secret to gaining an advantage over him.

Not to mention, Selket grabbed the demon by the throat and dragged him over to the fountain. The demon figured he was going for a ride in the drink which wouldn’t hurt as much, but the priestess had something far worse in mind. Selket hit a Chokeslam to the stone edge of the fountain as the demon sprung up and off it immediately upon impact as he groaned in pain and grabbed his back. This couldn’t stand. He was the one in charge here! The Anomaly shakily raised his left arm as he pointed to the dark hallway seemingly using some magical powers of sorts to call forth something or someone.

In just a few minutes, a few Egyptian solders carrying spears and swords wearing gold pharaoh masks and headdresses would come down the hallway barefoot. They pointed their weapons at Selket and uttered a battle cry running for the priestess for seemingly attacking their prophet. It seems The Anomaly was busy coaxing more believers to his cause before Selket arrived and they would no doubt worship him and follow his lead. The soldiers were gaining ground coming at the priestess, but the demon felt they would just be dismantled very easily considering Selket held a big advantage of supernatural abilities over them. Not that The Anomaly needed them to beat Selket. Just distract her as Lyra helped him out of the water and they made their daring escape.

[Bare]

Cracking the Anomaly onto the stone edge of the fountain with a chokeslam Selket would stand over him victoriously with a dangerous smirk on her face. Granted he was likely not done. But a move like that would have ended the career of anyone else, so surely he would now be on his last legs. All she had to to was keep pressing him. Bending down and grabbing hold of the demon's hair to lift him up the Priestess would raise an eyebrow seeing him raise his hand up and then hearing something... strange coming towards them.

Dropping the demon's head Selket would stand to her full height. Watching down her nose as she saw the soldiers enter the room and bare their fangs at her. Sneering in disgust Selket would let out a sound of disinterest. "Standing against the vessel of a goddess? You boys clearly chose the wrong side." The woman said as she spread her arms out, causing the sand in the room to shift and pick before blowing, swirling around the room in a in doors sand storm blinding all the soldiers in the process!

Confused and unsure of Selket's positioning the purple clad goddess would make her move as she took one of the men from behind, choking him out and leaving him while the rest of the men were unaware. Getting up Selket would dash and take another out, dropping him with a head first impact on the stone. It would continue like that, the soldiers unable to find Selket and slowly panicking as the priestess picked them off one by one until finally.. the sand storm dissipated, revealing Selket holding the last man up with one arm in a choke hold on his throat.

Sneering once more Selket would drop him before stomping his head into the floor to knock him out. Turning to find the Anomaly again though Selket would realize what he had done and found her blood boiling as a result. All that work, that damn hard as hell concoction of ingredients necessary to make a mist that weakened Anomaly and he disappeared right after she got a good hit in?! Selket was angry. That was all that can be said, and it wouldn't bode well for the man when she found him again.

"RAGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!"

Something Selket sought to remind him of as a scream of pure fury tore its way through the halls of the tomb.

Sure, Selket got one over on the demon, but they were still in HIS realm. He could bend anything to his will and make reality his playground here. The soldiers were just useful puppets and he expected Selket to mow through them. Each soldier was sent into oblivion as the sand storm Selket conjured confused them as to her location and they, one by one, were disposed of in the waves of grain knocking against their masks. The last one would be stepped on as a huge crack appeared on his mask and then Selket would realize the demon’s plans unleashing a scream of rage through the halls. Dark chuckling could be heard in response as The Anomaly loves toying with his victims.

Selket didn’t know that behind her in another hallway, a contraption was being placed on the floor near her. A black glove flipped the switch on and sank back into the darkness as white smoke started emitting from the machine. It would surround Selket at her feet and eventually moved up once she moved around in it. Suddenly, the effects would start to overtake the priestess. She was being hit with sleeping gas!

[Bare]

Selket had released the roar of fury as an intimidation tactic though she doubted it would work. Although it still felt good to let it out. Now she had to focus on finding her damned opponent and his little stooge... or so she thought. But as it turned out she had... other problems. Looking down she saw smoke rising up from her feet and getting higher. "Smoke again?" She asked sarcastically unimpressed... up until it got to her nose and allowed her to recognize just what this was. "Gas!" She hissed out in recognition, immediately pulling up part of her outfit to cover her nose and delay the effects.

'Gotta move.' She thought to herself as she began running, turning corners, blitzing through the shadowy halls of the tomb like an expert, trying to outrun the gas before it overwhelmed her and took her! If it did... she would surely lose this bout regardless of physical or mental capabilities!

Selket may have avoided the sleeping gas that was intended to put her to sleep, but she was on the run and that’s when the demon would make his move around the corridors chasing her. Selket would run into a room filled with ancient hieroglyphics on display along with a medium-sized sphinx statue in one corner and two gold sarcophaguses in the other corners of the room. Some dunes of sands from outside managed to transverse through the walls of stone and fell on the floor surrounding the artifacts on display. Upon closer inspection of the sarcophaguses, one would expect The Anomaly and Lyra to be hidden in them.

However, Lyra would be hidden on top of the ceiling in a small corner hidden just out of Selket’s view. The Anomaly kept silent letting the sands under his feet quiet his movements. They were hoping Selket would check out the sarcophaguses in order to make her think she was on to their plans. Now, they needed the priestess to take the bait. She found a way around the demon’s immunity so trickery would have to suffice for now.

Selket had to run fast and efficiently, taking care not to turn down any corridors that she knew would lead to a dead end. If that gas caught up with her it would truly be the end of things for her in this match, and that was not something she could afford to let happen. Eventually however her run would bring her to a room... a room that was far too elaborate to mean nothing. In fact.. it felt as if all the hairs on Selket's body were standing on end, practically screaming at her that there was danger somewhere lurking in this room.

Narrowing her eye at the two sarcophagi in the room she would immediately make her way forward with no signs of fear, though internally the priestess didn't like this one bit.There were two crypts for her to check, not easy to do with one set of hands, meaning that if Lyra and Jonathan were there she would surely be attacked by the other after checking the first. Likewise they could just as easily be hidden in the room given the sand that would mask footsteps and the plentiful hidings spaces. Either way Selket was damned, but she had to get the fight going while Jonathan was weakened... So she would take the bait presented to her and start to open up one of the sarcophagus... but she still had a few tricks up her sleeves regardless of what her opponents chose to do next.

[Pegasus]

Selket took the bait like expected and was easily swayed to check the sarcophagus caskets for Jonathan and Lyra, but according to their plans, they were empty as to be expected which means Selket set herself up. However, the demon still held back knowing that Selket wouldn’t be easy to catch off guard and instead had Lyra go first to try to set up an aerial assault. Lyra did a slow motion jump in order to come down on Selket hoping for a Diving Clothesline to trip Selket up.

However, this would be entirely dependent upon Selket looking up and not reacting quickly enough. She was still a supernaturalist and could easily teleport or she would be strong enough to catch Lyra in order to deliver more punishment like she did before. Not to mention, his back still hurt somewhat from that Chokeslam earlier and he had to avoid Selket beating him down since his immunity is gone for the meantime.

[Bare]

Selket had opened the sarcophagus only to find it empty, not so much dust or a cobweb, let alone a person. 'Figures.' Selket thought before looking up and seeing the descending form of Lyra. However, rather than fear taking over her face Selket instead only smirk. "There you are." She said to herself before throwing her hand out, causing a fire ball to expel forward and into Lyra's face mid flight!

If the supernatural trick had worked and caused the girl to lose control of her fall than Selket would reach out to grab the girl out of the air and break her fall. A kind act that would be quickly revealed for the malicious intent behind it as Selket closed her fingers around Lyra's neck and lifted her up off the floor and into the air. "This is what you can expect demon!" Selket called out, knowing Jonathan was in here somewhere before turning and lifting Lyra up before slamming her into the sarcophagus, shattering the lid and putting Lyra through it until she was inside herself! laying in a mass of dust and debris!

[Pegasus]

Lyra expected to hit Selket with an outstretched arm, but it seems Selket had expected as such lighting a fireball to blind Lyra as the cloaked woman screamed and shrieked! Selket caught her to prevent a nastier falling and held Lyra in a bridal style hold, but the charity was soon lost as Selket's evil would make it even worse for Lyra as this wasn't the embrace she wanted to be in. Lyra would feel fingers around her throat and next thing she could understand was the lid of the sarcophagus plowing her body as she was fully engulfed into a cloud of dust smashing into the coffin. Luckily, she hit the bottom of the coffin so it broke her fall, but her back was going to be killing her and taking her out of the action for now. Selket had won that exchange!

However, to say The Anomaly did not prepare for this would be an outright lie. Lyra bought him enough time to come up with a plan to get back at Selket for what she caused him. The Anomaly reached out his right arm towards Selket and snapped his fingers which activated his psychological mind games allowing him to possibly probe Selket's mind. He did this with the Heartbreakers and he did this to Marzia with just a little voice of doubt. However, this little voice would be the voice of Selket.

"Fine. Toss away what's left of your pride with your body. It will be your choice."

That was what Selket said to Astrid during their last match together at last year's Fight The LAW and the demon intended for it to sink into Selket real good. The demon came out of hiding and ramped up his rampage with clawing at Selket raking her right in the eyes to blind her! If that succeeded, The Anomaly gripped Selket by the throat and held her high like a trophy before looking at the other sarcophagus. He knew what needed to be done. The Anomaly charged forward intending for himself to hit a Chokeslam to Selket through the sarcophagus lid just like she did to Lyra! However, he was aiming for deeper then that hoping the blunt force sent the entire sarcophagus and Selket through the stone wall!

[Bare]

Smashing Lyra though the lid of the coffin Selket would smrk confidently at the state of the girl who dared to help her opponent. "Good riddance." Selket said mockingly after taking in the sight to its fullest extent. Now all that remained was her bos- Before the thought could even finish in her mind Selket heard something, her own voice in fact, saying a line that the Egyptian woman knew all too well. Immediately the smug smirk on her face was wiped away and replaced with one of unrelenting fury.

"You DARE use my own words against me!?" She asked, everything seeming dark around her as she squeezed her fists so tight blood started to draw. "I am the incarnation of a goddess you're nothing but a- AGH!" As she ranted Selket would turn, trying to find her foe, only to be met with a rake across the eyes that blinded her! Hands immediately going to her eyes before her throat was seized, making her gag and gasp, hands going to the hand on her neck, clawing at it to try and get it away, but the grip was iron clad as she was listed up off her feet.

A rare occurrence for the heavyweight as she kicked her feet about fruitlessly, carried forward, before being dropped thunderously though the lid of the second coffin, and even going through the bottom of it all together. "Nghhh...." Left releasing a small whine of pain Selket's legs laid up on the edge of the sarcophagus still, twitching slightly while her arms had crossed over her chest, the woman's eyes hald lidded as she lay among the debris, looking to be on the edge of consciousness after such a massive impact.
