A Gale Storm Over Ireland: Moira Kilgannon vs. Karen Gale (D)

The crowd was restless as they waited. They were excited for the upcoming match. It featured two tough heavy hitting women. Moira had wrestled before, so the crowd knew just how intense the Irishwoman could get. They chanted her name and erupted in cheers when her familiar music came on.

Moira ran out of the face runnel excitedly pumping her fist in the air to the beat of the song. She then ran down the entrance ramp and around ringside high-fiving fans as she went. She truly enjoyed that part. Moira then got in the ring and readied herself to face her opponent.

The crowd was already excited over Moira's entrance: the Celtic Hammer never failed to entertain in any of her matches, and win or lose, she always put on an impressive performance. The audience expected tonight to be no different, no matter who this newcomer was who would take the Irish giantess on...although there was still the question of who, exactly, Moira's opponent would be.

They did not have to wonder for long, however, as soon over the PA another track began to play-- specifically, a trap remix of the Maori haka.

"AND HER OPPONENT," the announcer declared, "FROM DUNEDIN, NEW ZEALAND...KAREN GAAAAALE!"

To the enthusiastic cheers of the audience, a tall, muscular woman with dusky skin, a yellow leotard and short white hair entered the ring. Striding onto the foot of the ramp, Karen stood with her legs wide and did the initial gestures of a haka-- crossing her arms above her chest, and squatting, staring down with an intense, almost scary focus towards the ring-- before breaking into a smile and striding confidently down the ramp. Taken in by the cheering of the crowd, the white-haired New Zealander smiled as she strode down the ramp, enthusiastically hi-fiving members of the crowd as she went. As soon as she reached the ring, she rolled under the ropes and hopped to her feet, raising her arms again to the cheering crowd.

This was not Karen's first time in the ring. She had fought in other leagues before, in front of large crowds before...but all the same, it felt exhilarating, to be making an introduction into a new league like this and having people cheer her. At that moment she knew, deep down inside, that moving to LAW had been the right decision.

Slowly, she turned to face Moira, and crossed her arms nonchalantly. "So you're the Celtic Hammer I keep hearing about?" she asked with a wry grin. "Hmm...I honestly thought you'd be taller." Truth to be told, for all of Moira was easily taller and larger than Karen, and the Kiwi would be lying if she had said that the large Irishwoman didn't intimidate her. All the same though, Karen wasn't about to show any fear or weakness in front of her opponent, instead deciding to start things off with a round of friendly trash talk.

The two women faced off while the announcer went over his introductions. Moira smirked at Karen’s comment about her height and stepped forward, putting herself face-to-face with the Kiwi. ”Oh I’m sorry I’m not tall enough for ye. I’ll throw you around to make up for it, lassie.” When the bell rang, Moira raised her hands in the air, inviting Karen to a test of strength and accentuating their height difference.

Karen watched as Moira edged closer to her, so that the two of them were eye to eye. Well, not quite eye to eye: Moira still had a few inches over Karen, and looked down at her slightly. This close, their breasts pushed against one another. Karen didn't back down and didn't break eye contact, and met Moira's confident grin with one of her own...even though, this close, it was readily apparent to the audience that Moira had a slight advantage in size and power.

"We'll see who throws who, 'lassie,'" Karen retorted, breaking away as the ref signalled for the bell to ring. Moira raised her arms, gesturing for an obvious test of strength: Karen was all too happy to oblige, and lunged forwards to tie up aggressively with the Irishwoman, her own muscles visibly rippling as she locked up and pushed against Moira, trying to push her back,

The two amazons locked up, their muscles straining as they gave it their all. Moira struggled for advantage. While she was larger than Karen, the Kiwi was muscular and had a lot of power. The two brought their arms down to their sides and pressed their chests together like rams locked in a struggle. Moira tried toppling Karen, but Karen's base was too strong and her lower center of mass served to help her here. Moira found herself being pushed backwards slowly but surely. Eventually Karen managed to push Moira into the corner, where the two women were still locked up.

The two kicked things off with a bang, each wrestler going for a true test of strength as they grappled and twisted with each other, light skinned arms crisscrossing with dark as the two interlocked. Karen's cheek rested next to Moira's as she gritted her teeth, grunting as she poured all of her strength against all of Moira's. The Irish powerhouse was strong, really strong, and it was taking all of Karen's effort to push her back.

But push her back Karen did, step by step, until finally Moira's back was pushed against the corner. At the referee's instruction, Karen let Moira go and backed away for a second, a victorious smile on her face.

That was, until she yanked on one of Moira's arms to pull her forward, spinning around to lock an arm around her head and squeeze her against the side of her chest in a tight side headlock, her biceps bulging slightly as they squeezed. "So...how's that so far?" she breathed, trying to walk Moira away from the ropes even as she squeezed her head.

”Oh it’s grand. A nice biiiig streeetch,” Moira grunted as her face was pressed against the Kiwi’s muscular chest. Her arms wrapped around Karen’s torso, the Irishwoman looked for a weakness to exploit. Moira grabbed Karen’s clasped hands and started yanking on them. She hoped to pry herself loose through raw strength, slip behind Karen, and lock her in a full nelson.

Karen was still grinning as she squeezed Moiras against her side, giving the Irishwoman yet another taste of her own Maori muscles even as her opponent's own arms wrapped around her waist. She braced herself, thinking Moira was going to try for a suplex. Even as she squeezed, though, she felt Moira grab onto her wrists and, slowly but surely, pull. "Hnn...what are you..."

And then, suddenly, Moira's head whipped free of her arm. The next thing Karen knew, Moira was behind her, sliding her arms under Karen's and locking in a full nelson! "Nnngh...not...bad!" she hissed,gritting her teeth as her arms were folded upwards painfully. She twisted her arms left and right, trying to get them free...before suddenly stooping low, trying to get low enough that she could grab for one of Moira's boots to grab for it and unbalance her foe!

Moira kept grinding Karen with her full nelson, swinging her back and forth to disorient her. The Kiwi then started bending over and reaching for the ground. Moira maintained her grip, but couldn’t stop Karen from crouching and found herself bending over as well. Realizing what Karen was doing, Moira deciding to head her off by flipping over herself and, upon landing on her feet, run over to the ropes. Moira then attempted to rebound and hit Karen with a lariat!

"Ennngh...." Karen strained as she suddenly bent low, the action causing her butt to grind a little against Moira as she tried to droop down low, enough that her hands would be able to grab onto the Irishwoman's leg and trip her down. So far, although she was proving a match for Moira in strength, the Celtic Hammer was also demonstrating that she had quite a lot of ring experience. She was definitely turning out to be a worthwhile opponent after all.

Just as she was about to grab for Moira's boots, however, her opponent suddenly flipped over her. Righting herself up, Karen wobbled a little, nearly unbalanced by the lack of her opponent's weight. "What the--" she breathed, before suddenly seeing Moira rebounding back at her! Cursing, she tried to counter, but it was too late--- Moira's arm slammed just above her chest, knocking her backwards and sending her slamming down hard on the mat! "UUUUGH!" Karen grunted, and was left rolling on the mat, breathing hard; around the two of them, the crowd cheered at Moira's skillful counter.
