"And her opponent, from Detroit, Michigan! At 5'6, weighing 135 pounds...CECILIAAAAA LOMBARD!!"
As soon as Cecilia's name had been called, the lights overhead suddenly went dark, heralding her entrance as the music began to play - and when the lights went up again it would reveal Cecilia standing atop the entrance ramp, her arms folded as she cast a glower down on Nashi from above.
"Hmph..." she muttered, rolling her neck from one shoulder to the other to limber herself up as well as to issue a threat to her opponent. Cecilia knew who she was up against tonight...and, even if Nashi had a few wins under her belt, she wasn't impressed, not with her record and not with her past as an idol, either. She already knew the story - she'd be up against another prissy little bitch with more fame than sense who hardly knew her way around the ring. Her declaration that she was going to end up with the Openweight Championship was so laughable it was almost endearing, not to mention the cheers from all the fans who really thought she could do it. This was going to be easy.
As she made her way toward the ring, Cecilia's glare remained on Nashi, unwavering, and she brought her hands up to crack her knuckles.
"You're that big famous idol, aren't you? Hmph...I'm willing to bet you won't last a minute. Let's be real here, there's no way anyone like you would make Openweight Champion...so if it's going to take me to show you how stupid you are, allow me."
Cecilia climbed under the ropes, rising up to ready herself for the match...only to look back over her shoulder at the sound of eager cheers, as the first judge for the match made her entrance - no less than Astrid Ostberg herself!
Astrid had been
Nashi's first opponent in LAW, and that match had left her disappointed when she witnessed that her opponent seemed less than qualified for the promotion. But she had seen Nashi's willingness to improve, and to push past her limits - and if there was any a time to see if she would make good on her promise, it would be now, when her chances at getting onto the card at Apex hung in the balance! Astrid smiled to the crowd as she stood by her table, striking a few poses - she was, after all, a champion, and she could afford to live a little. But she soon sat down, focusing her close attention on Nashi.
"I hope you can make me proud..." she muttered to herself.
