"Apparently I need to push my name out there even more," muses Katsumi. "It's Kat-su-mi, O-shi-ro. Best remember it!" She winks an eye at her, then feigns shock and offense.

"Cheat!?"

She looks at the audience. "She thinks I might cheat in the ring!"

The audience snickers. She looks back to Suzume.

"Cheat!," she repeats, ever-so-scandalized. And then coyly, for the audience's benefit, purrs, "I would never." Hardline cheating is a rarity for Katsumi. But bending the rules, she tends to enjoy. "In fact, just for that..."

She turns again, an arm remaining securely around Suzume's shoulders. "Who wants to see a match between the Punk Princess and lil' bit here!"

Suzume was puzzled by all of Katsumi's showboating. It was effective though as the brunette was unlikely to ever forget her name. She didn't quite know if Kat was being serious about cheating though. At least to Suzume she looked like the type that might bend the rules a little. That wasn't anything that couldn't be handled though.

Things soon took a turn though when a match was proposed between the two. "Wh...what?" Suzume gasped. The crowd seemed more than on board with it, some of them cheering in excitement. "I...but...and it's SUZUME!" She finally said, yelling out the part about her name. The last thing she wanted was for the nickname lil' bit to stick. She had enough image problems to deal with without people calling her that. Although if it would help people remember who she was, Suzume thought maybe she wouldn't mind it...if of course she could get some wins first.

"Lil' Suzume Bit," nods Katsumi, as though 'Suzume' were her title, or middle name. It's becoming more and more fun to tease the poor girl.

The roar of their audience gets a smile from the Punk Princess, nodding along. "I don't see why not. I've gotta show'er how I do things in the ring, don't I?"

She turns then to face Suzume, finally withdrawing her arm from her shoulders. Her hands plant to her trim waist, confident smile playing on her lips. "What do you say? Wanna wrestle?"

"That's lil' bit Suzume! ...I mean just Suzume!" The brunette responded, her face becoming more flushed with each passing second. The crowd's enjoyment of the teasing only made matters worse for Suzume who just couldn't seem to be taken seriously. "Hmmphh!" She finally pouted, puffing up her cheeks.

"Fine...but when I win it's gonna just be regular Suzume...Taller than Katsumi Suzume!" She finally said before putting out some ridiculous conditions for their match. She doubted they'd be followed but it never hurt to put it out there. Really she was just looking to gain a bit of respect from just about anyone she could.

Katsumi is once again beleaguered by giggles, shaking her head quickly. "No! Stop! Come on, I can't beat you up if you're too cute!," she fusses. "That's cheating!"

She steps away from Suzume and motions outwards with her arms. "That's it, then! I'm gonna put in word with the bookers! Suzume versus Katsumi! Best tune in!" After a beat, she grins. "Now 'scuse us! I'll do some autographs at the door later!"

With a few grumbles from the audience, they begin to disperse. Katsumi turns her attention instead to Suzume, hip cocked and left fist poised against it. "No shit, you're with LAW?," she asks. "I'm still a little new to the fed', so I didn't recognize ya."

Suzume sighed. It seemed however hard she tried she just couldn't get anyone to take her quite as seriously as she wanted. The bright side though was that at least she was taken as enough of a threat to make a match with. "Fine...but if you don't try to win then I'mma beat you up." She replied finally.

As the crowd dispersed Katsumi appeared to become a bit more serious. "Oh ummm well yeah. It's totally fine, it's not like I recognized you either." Suzume said. She was glad she wasn't the only one feeling bad about that. "Honestly I think I kinda like it that way." She said, not particularly wanting to be known as a wrestler outside of the LAW environment.

What she says perplexes the punkette. "What? Why? Why even wrestle if you don't want the fame?" Her head tilts to the side in a decidedly feline manner, watching Suzume more closely.

Her motivation was certainly the fame, the fortune, and the titles. Anyone willing to risk their bodies for less would have to be crazy, right?

"And you don't have to wrestle me, if you don't want to. But I want to. Gotta beat ya down after you embarrassed me in front of my people!"

It wasn't that Suzume didn't want the fame, it was just that she had done nothing to garner any fame. "I...well I mean...it's not like I DON'T wan't fame. I just haven't really won yet." The brunette mumbled barely audibly. It wasn't a fact that Suzume was particularly proud of. Plus she didn't particularly want her coworkers to know some of the matches she was put into.

"But I totally have to wrestle you now! The crowd saw that and everything. And I can't have people taking me lightly so I have to beat you!" The woman declared. She was a bit more eager to take Kat on now. The woman didn't look terribly tough, or at least not any tougher than most of the other wrestlers around. She only had a few inches and pounds on Suzume anyway.

So Suzume's not won a single match? That's why she doesn't want the attention? Katsumi can understand that. If all she had to show of her wrestling career was that match against Kyoko, she wouldn't want anyone looking her way either. Suzume has her sympathy - and she's finding herself in a weird position.

Dark green eyes drift sidelong, lips pursing. Suzume seems nice. She's cute, when she's really into something. And if she's been wrestling a while with nothing to show for it, she should get a win. A little something to give her that bit of encouragement. Sometimes attitude is all that's needed to tip the odds. But at the same time, it can't come at the expense of Katsumi's career. She's fighting to be the best of the best, to have the title, to be at the top of the pile. She's had considerable success so far. No fight is a throwaway fight for her, and losing to someone with a losing streak could ruin her image.

"Fuck."

That may seem like a random thing to say. An astute observer might be able to put the pieces together based on body language, expression, and tone.

Her eyes return to Suzume, lacking the typical mirth or coy qualities usually behind them. It's only a sincere look, really taking Suzume in.

"I have to beat you, too," she says, her delivery mellow and somber.

"Hey...don't give me that look." Suzume complained. As far as she knew she didn't need anyone's pity. She didn't have a debilitating condition or anything, just a lack or wrestling ability. Of course in the fighting business that could be detrimental, but people still seemed to come and see her matches regardless. Perhaps they liked to see her or perhaps her opponent, but either way the seats were filled.

"Well duh." Suzume finally said after the last comment. "I mean that's the point right? And I gotta beat you too? Or like give up on me giving up? Ummm... giving up is what kills people? ...when you give up that's when the game ends? Gaaah I don't know." The woman rambles, tossing out as many relevant anime quotes as she can think of. "Either way I'm getting my first win whether you like it or not!" Suzume declared with uncharacteristic confidence. The quotes seemed to have an effect on her. She was finally pumped up about their match.
