Crimson Emeralds: Ruby vs Alizeh

Post by Tiamat »

Apex Qualifier
Standard Match Winner by Pinfall or Submission
Okay Ruby wasn’t new to this wrestling thing. But It wasn’t like she has been doing this thing for a while either. It was like being in the middle of a rookie and a vet. Maybe that’s a bad way of putting it. Ruby is closer to a rookie than a vet. Leave the expertise to her sister Yang. Even Weiss looked like she’s been doing it longer. But something Ruby had that a lot don’t, which is a good work ethic. Ruby was more than willing to put in the time to get better. Not as much as a gym/workout rat as her sister but Ruby cared more than most.

So after hyping herself for a little bit in her head. You could hardly tell that she was nervous before hand. Afterall if Ruby goes out there with hard work and still losses then she has nothing to complain about. Wait isn’t that still thinking about losing? Of course I wanna win, but I don’t wanna set myself up for failure…. Ruby thought to herself putting herself right back to where she was before. It was a sick cycle that Ruby would put herself before a match. This night especially since she was going up against a seasoned wrestler in Alizeh.

Not one to do her homework. Good thing Weiss is. The little Ruby was able to find out was that Alizeh is a all-rounder type that has gone the extra mile in her matches. Safe to say this was going to be tough for the Silver Bullet. It was a good thing the officials backstage were close by. They told Ruby that she would make her entrance first. This warning brought Ruby back to reality and made things easier kinda. Since Ruby could now focus on her entrance as opposed to the match for now.
Spoiler
Hopping up and down for a bit. Ruby would get her blood flowing, waiting for her music to reach its highest point. Once it did Ruby would fire out of backstage with enough energy to feed the entire L.A.W arena. Ruby greeted the fans with a smile that could warm anyone’s heart and waving at them. Good thing she did this because Ruby would show her speed off a bit as she bolted down the ramp and towards the ring. Not needing some sort of steps to jump off of. Ruby would show her leg strength in jumping up high and in between the top and middle ropes. Rolling afterwards and stopping on a cool pose with her on one knee. Popping back up was she waved to everyone. The display was cool enough that everyone got hype over Ruby’s speed and athletics. Not wanting to take to much time from the crowd or Alizeh. Ruby would head over to a turnbuckle facing the stage to wait for Alizeh.

Alizeh groaned softly as she stretched backstage, preparing for another Apex qualifier. Technically speaking she had met her required number of matches, so officially, she didn't need to do any more. But she had told her agent to simply make any matches she was scheduled for a apex qualifier so long as her opponent was also registered, or had a interest in registering even. It was her own way of trying to prove that she was worthy of the belt. That she was willing to go above and beyond the requirements necessary while helping to grow the pool of potential challengers, speaking of which.

"Ruby Rose huh? Not a lot of matches on record, so she's fairly new. Not young lioness new, but not as experienced as me." Alizeh said to herself, already thinking of her opponent and what she should be looking out for with the information she had. 'Too bad all I could really gleam was that she's fast. But all that means is that she's probably a high flyer. Not a lot to go on.' Alizeh thought to herself while walking through the backstage hallways to the entrance area. In truth Alizeh was especially interested in this Rose girl after seeing her entrance. She was energetic and confident, as well as cute and physically fit. All qualities that Alizeh looked for in opponents and rivals. "Lets hope she's worth my time." Alizeh said to herself with a small smile before getting for the ok from the worker to make her entrance as her music queued up and played around the arena.
Spoiler
Coming out amid the rumble and crackle of thunder and lightning along with the high paced energy of the guitars Alizeh would come out, posing proudly for the fans who cheered and whooped loudly in response for the rising star in LAW. Dressed in her white and orange attire Alizeh would began to jont proudly down the ramp towards the ring. Veering to the sides to high five and smile at fans Alizeh would soon break out into a run as she approached the ring before leaping up, under the bottom rope and smoothly into the ring itself.

Popping up to her feet Alizeh would run at the corner and hop up onto it, perching with both feet and extending an arm out, posing once more for the fans who popped again for the green haired girl before she hopped down from the corner. Turning to face her opponent Alizeh would approach the center of the ring while holding her hand out for her younger opponent. "Hey! Looking forward to a good match!" Alizeh said amicably in a eager tone and equally fierce smile on her face, one that promised that despite her kind words she was determined to win.

Ruby waited patiently at the corner of the ring facing the entrance ramp. Even after doing her entrance Ruby still felt nervous about the whole match. Stupid little things would fill her head. Things that could never happen, but the fact that Ruby thought of it was enough. Doing some light breathing exercise to get her composure. Thankfully as an added piece Alizeh was making her entrance. Giving Ruby something else to focus on.

Alizeh’s entrance was super high energy to say the least. The way she came out to the thunder and lightning was honestly something Ruby had to make a mental note of. That’s so cool!!! Ruby thought to herself as the arena was in full cheer mode for Alizeh. It was safe to say Alizeh was a favorite around here given the response she got. Ruby wasn’t sure if Alizeh was trying to one up her or something. But Alizeh would break out into a full sprint into the ring. Once she reached the ring Alizeh slid under the bottom rope and into the ring. Hmph, at least mine was cooler Ruby also thought to herself. Almost making a mini contest with the entrances in her head.

Getting back on her feet quick. Alizeh would get onto the turnbuckle and extend her arm. Giving a nice pose for the crowd and getting a wave of cheers for her show. Once she got back down from the turnbuckle, Alizeh would head to the ring and hold out her hand. Alizeh would also greet Ruby and was eager for this match. Usually Ruby would be awkward in these sorts of situations. But after the entrances finishing, Ruby wasn’t sure why but she was way more calm now. Extending her arm out also and holding Alizeh’s for the handshake. Hi there! Same here, hope we get to have fun while we are at it! I won't lose! Ruby said kindly as she shook Alizeh’s hand. Now she would get herself prepped for the start of the match. Knowing that the start of this match would be important.

As Alizeh stepped into the ring and approached Ruby she would be sure to overlook and inspect the appearance of her opponent. 'Probably a year or two younger than me.' Alizeh thought to herself as she came to be right in front of Ruby, expressing her wish for a good match and holding her hand out to offer a pre match handshake to the girl. Such a thing was almost always a action that came with risks, but one look at Ruby was enough to tell Alizeh that the risk of retaliation would be almost non existent.

So as the two shook hands and Ruby returned her sentiment for a good match Alizeh would nod happily at the girl. "Haha we'll see about that cause I'm not planning on losing either." She said with a wink to Ruby after the handshake before backing up towards her corner, more than willing to wait patiently for the bell to ring.

The moment it did so however Alizeh would immediately bound forward out of the corner, looking to circle Ruby with a small smirk on her face. 'I'm gonna assume she's fast based on her size and what matches I was able to get info on.' Alizeh thought to herself, strategizing on the fly before holding her hands up to the girl. 'I heard a rumor she's competitive... so lets try this.' Alizeh said as she looked at Ruby with determined eyes. "Say Ruby you wanna get this match started off with a classic?" Alizeh asked with a grin before narrowing her eyes in a more serious expression still matched with a lopsided grin. "Or are you scared?" Alizeh would ask, trying to bait Ruby into accepting the test of strength.

Ruby might’ve accepted Alizeh’s handshake to easily. At least she realized that after the fact. Alizeh could have easily attacked Ruby from that. Ruby has seen that happen so many times that it’s a matter of when is it going to happen to Ruby. Thankfully Alizeh didn’t use that chance to take advantage of Ruby. This at least gave Ruby some info on Alizeh seeing that she is mostly fair. Still would have to watch out for anything as she can’t come to conclusions from just a handshake.

Alizeh would shoot back at Ruby laughing and saying that she doesn’t plan on losing. Ah well that does make things harder honestly Ruby said semi joking, now being ready for the bell to ring and start this match off.

Once it did Alizeh would come out of her corner and circle Ruby. Usually Ruby would be the first to start things. But this match was different, Ruby had to be safer about things. Alizeh’s presence alone at least demanded that. In this case Ruby thought that it would be better to try and react to whatever Alizeh had in mind. Knowing full well that she is faster than her. Ruby being a chatter box is something her past opponents would complain about. Naturally being self conscious, Ruby would try the keep the dialogue internal. Instead Alizeh would already start talking to Ruby.

Alizeh would go on about beginning with a classic. Holding her hands up high, signaling she wanted to do a test of strength. Ruby being the cautious daredevil would rather stick to her strengths. Even if Ruby was sure she could muscle Alizeh out. Scared? Sure of a lot of things. But I’m not dumb enough to walk into your plan, whatever it is. Ruby said as she tried to start things her own way and aim low quick and try to sweep Alizeh’s legs and well sweep Alizeh off her feet.

Alizeh smiled softly as she circled Ruby slowly, inviting the girl to a test of strength. Partially due to genuine competitiveness, but also partially in just wanting to see if the girl would accept it. After all there would be a clear disadvantage for her, but Alizeh was interested to see if Ruby would factor it. As it turned out though the girl did in fact take that into account and was adamant about refusing Alizeh's offer.

'Hehe so she's clever at least.' Alizeh thought to herself as she watched Ruby's fiery refusal before the girl darted in, going low for Alizeh's leg. 'She's fast.' Alizeh thought to herself, making a mental note of the girl's speed as she came in.

Luckily Alizeh was already tensed up and ready to move one way or another. So while Ruby's speed was impressive Alizeh was at least ready to shuffle her feet to one side, dodging out of the way of Ruby's attack. "Nice try but you'll have to do more than that!" Alizeh said as she then moved to swing her own leg around, aiming to send a kick of her own aimed at the top of Ruby's thigh.

That opening moment had been exactly what Alizeh needed to recognize what Ruby's biggest asset was, and that was her speed. So if she had any target this match it was the girl's leg and back. damaging both to try and wear the girl down and hopefully weaken her enough for a submission or pinfall early on. But that was dependent on if this first kick even connected. After all the girl was fast. That much was all too clear and in all honest Alizeh wasn't one hundred percent sure if this attack would connect, so just in case Alizeh was preparing herself to hunker down if it came too it.

Ruby being a somewhat new to this wrestling thing is not a secret. Fighting sure she knew how to do that, but this is the big leagues. Hardly something she could afford to mess up. So taking a picture out of her big sister Yang’s book. Ruby decided it was best to run straight at her goal. That was a check of her drive and aggression. This did not mean that Ruby would throw a careful thought process and planning to win. Ruby knew that she did not have much to hang her hat on, except for her speed. Hell the Silver Bullet could run circles around anyone. But everything was a work in progress. Still that would not deter Ruby on her path to victory!

Showing her hand early, Alizeh was surely able to gather that Ruby is forward thinking and is supremely fast. A glass cannon so to speak, but Alizeh was unable to check for Ruby’s durability at the moment. Though given the space between them Alizeh was able to react in time to Ruby’s first attack. A mistake that many newer wrestlers make is leaving themselves vulnerable to counter attacks. Ruby was making such a mistake right now. Despite the age gap not being quite large, Alizeh was able to show her experience and counter appropriately. Agh! Ruby let out as Alizeh landed her kick onto Ruby’s thigh. The true meaning behind the move would escape Ruby but she understood the basics of the situation. Failed attack equaling to a counter attack.

I guess you are right about that. So why don’t I pick up the pace! Ruby said as she picked herself and sprinted towards Alizeh. Ruby refused to show fear in a match like this. Otherwise she would just lose from the start. Still Ruby would need to utilize her speed if she wanted to win this match. With enough space between them, Ruby would try a spinning clothesline hoping to knock Alizeh flat on her back. The spin would add further momentum and therefore increase the power behind the move.

That is if the clothesline was the goal. Ruby knew that Alizeh would probably dodge or block as she was still feeling things out. Using that as a base, Ruby would miss her move on purpose. Keeping the momentum she had and running into the ropes behind Alizeh. There Ruby would jump onto the middle rope and as if the ropes were spring board, Ruby jumped off them doing a backflip in the process. Trying to catch Alizeh with a splash from it! If Ruby was able to get this daredevil move off she would look to get a quick pin since she’d be over Alizeh.

So far Ruby was proving to be a somewhat interesting opponent so far. Alizeh could tell off the bat based on the smaller girl's build that she was a more speedy type fighter. Heck if her body type didn't say it then the speed she came in at certainly did, luckily Alizeh had managed to hit her right off the bat with a kick to her upper thigh, something that Alizeh knew, or rather hoped would be the start of more attacks to the girl's legs to hamper that quickness of the younger girl.

Still though what Alizeh found even more interesting was that even after a kick to her leg that definitely had an effect, Ruby still seemed rather intent on going for more speedy based offense. Raising an eyebrow at this strategy Alizeh would play along, readying herself as Ruby raised her arm up, no doubt going for a clothesline with the added momentum and speed of her still admittedly impressive speed, all while making a promise to pick up the pace. "Lets see how that works out for you!" Alizeh said with a grin as she immediately would move to duck under the clothesline.

However immediately after doing so something felt... off. With how fast Ruby was moving Alizeh had at least expected to feel a whiff of Ruby arm surging overhead, and despite that nothing. It was as if it went completely over her all together. 'So either Ruby has really terrible aim or...' Immediately Alizeh would turn and be greeted by the sight of Ruby on the top ropes above her. Shi-" Before she could finish what she was saying Ruby had already descended from the ropes and crashed down hard on top of Alizeh!

"Ugh!" Groaning in pain as the smaller girl's body crashed into her own Alizeh would be taken off her feet immediately by the lightweight and forced down to the mat. Right after it seemed Ruby was intent on taking her place on top of Alizeh to go for a quick pinfall as the ref got off a ONE count right away, only for Alizeh to kick out just after it had been made, refusing to be weakened this early on in such a way!

Ruby painfully knew she wasn’t the greatest fighter, hell not even a great wrestler. It would take a lot of hard work to get to the place she want to be at. But that would take time, right now she would have to use the strengths she already has. Being scared in the ring is a one way street to losing. So she would have to check her worries at the door. That’s a big reason as to why Ruby was undeterred when her first attack missed and lead to a counter. Deep down Ruby knew she would have so many other chances to attack.

Focusing on her speed Ruby refused to slow down. Doing so would just give Alizeh even more of an advantage. As fast Ruby was, she’s an even faster when it comes to gameplaning. She just needed to be in the right mindset. There is more than one way to use her speed instead of blitzing her opponent. Using it perfectly to trick Alizeh into moving how she wanted. Ruby knew her plan was going to work, once she heard Alizeh talk back at Ruby.

Ruby would have to use the entire ring if she wanted to win. The ropes weren’t just there to keep the wrestlers in. She could also use them in ways not everyone can use them. Something Alizeh was finding out the hard way as Ruby crashed onto her body with full force.

Completely taking Alizeh off her feet, both of the wrestlers were down on the mat. Ruby would try to be a little cheeky and run with a quick win. But the referee would only get to a ONE count before Alizeh kicked out of the pinball. Yeah I figured, it’d be to good to be true. Ruby said as Alizeh kicked out. While not being able to win at the current moment. Ruby was still in the lead here, not wanting to give anything up. Ruby would try to quickly wrap up Alizeh, flipping the green haired wrestler onto her stomach. Ruby would get onto her back and lock in a single legged Boston Crab! Most people would go for a normal Boston Crab, but Ruby wanted to focus her strength on one leg. Since if she did a normal Boston Crab, odds are Alizeh would get out easily. This way the hold would be harder to get out of!

Re: Crimson Emeralds: Ruby vs Alizeh

Alizeh groaned softly in pain after taking that splash from the Ruby, the impact leaving her a bit out of breath and with some pretty sore ribs as well, but she was far, far from done yet. So when the ref went to come down and start the count the green haired girl was of course quick to throw her body up and kick out, refusing to be done in so easily.

Something that of course didn't sit well with Ruby who was quick to try and go back on the attack again. Though this time the girl was aiming to try and change gears a bit by the looks of it. Rather than try for a aerial move Alizeh felt Ruby grab her leg. Something that could mean a few different means of attack, but given Ruby's apparent in experience it was a bit easier for Alizeh to guess what Ruby was going for...

Sure enough just as Alizeh thought it would be, the girl was turning Alizeh over and starting to bend back with the green haired girl's leg in tow for a single legged Boston crab! "Ngh!" Grunting in pain Alizeh would grit her teeth and ball up her fists as she pushed her torso up on her arms, focusing herself and getting ready for what to do next. Unfortunately for Ruby, while a submission to wear her down was a good idea, she made a grave mistake in her choice of holds.

While the single legged crab was great for doing some good amount of damage to a specific limb, it was a pretty insecure position and should only be used on a tired or inexperienced opponent that wasn't able to plan out their escape very well. Neither of which applied to Alizeh who felt right at home with submission holds. So despite the pain she was in from Ruby's high flying Alizeh would use her hands to push herself to the side, twisting her hips to try and turn Ruby over all together! If successful in doing so then Alizeh would pull back with her caught leg while lifting her other leg up before shooting both out, aiming to slam both her feet into Ruby's chest with a double kick!
