That was Kathleen's refining trait; her complete and total ruthlessness. No matter how long a match went, even if every muscle in her body burned, she'd always go above and beyond to make sure that her opponent was in deep agony.
Just before she could deliver that crippling elbow, Hitomi had enough mind to push her away, causng Kathleen's boots to skid against the mat and for her to stumble back, losing her advantage over the heavyweight. "Grh, you litt- GUH!" The Queen couldn't even let out her insult before that kick near impaled her, striking her gut with surprising force and making her stumbling backwards. A hand shielded her stomach while the other clutched the top rope to hold herself up, leaving her momentarily vulnerable to the veteran.

Re: Kathleen Hendricks vs. Hitomi Rodouko - Queen vs. Teacher (Apex Qualifying Match)
Hitomi when she finally struck, really hit hard, and it seemed that Kathleen had felt it, as she stepped back and was held on the ropes, a message would become clear to Hitomi, in terms of strength, Hitomi and Kathleen knew how to land good blows.
But the fight continued, and seeing her opponent holding on for that blow, gave the veteran a chance, throwing against her to jump for a full knee to Kathleen's head, knowing it was time to put her training to the test.

Re: Kathleen Hendricks vs. Hitomi Rodouko - Queen vs. Teacher (Apex Qualifying Match)
Kathleen was hurting pretty bad right about now, that boot like a javelin thrown from an Olympian striking her gut and leaving the Queen vulnerable to any sort of follow up. Her abs ached, and just as she looked up to get an eye for her opponent, and measure what to do next, all she saw was the veteran's knee aimed right for her face!
"GHUF!" She let out an undignified cry as her face was smashed in by that powerful knee, a damn near concussive blow that forced Kathleen's body to fall through the ropes and collapse on the floor outside. Her hands clawed at the ground as to try and get herself moving again, but that was easier said than done when her vision was blurred and her body felt as heavy as a sack of bricks.

Re: Kathleen Hendricks vs. Hitomi Rodouko - Queen vs. Teacher (Apex Qualifying Match)
Hitomi hit hard, that she knew, and when Kathleen fell out, Hitomi felt ashamed of that, knowing that normally didn't happen, thinking that she would just fall on the canvas, but anyway, Hitomi when she saw the queen fall on the ground and see how she was crawling, Hitomi instead of going for her, just looked at Kathleen.
Come on Queen! You are better than this! C'mon, this fight is important!!!
She would say while waiting to see if anything would happen or if that would be the end of their fight.

Re: Kathleen Hendricks vs. Hitomi Rodouko - Queen vs. Teacher (Apex Qualifying Match)
Hearing those words, Kathleen snarled and shook her head. Already, she was losing her temper with the veteran. That kick to her gut, and then that knee to her head, they were quite powerful and if the Queen took many more of those, she'd be-- "Grrh!" Nay, she shouldn't think like that. She cursed herself for even entertaining that idea, and her fists slammed against the ground as it seemed that pure anger was awaking her from that cloudy drawl that swirled in her head just moments ago.
Eventually, she was at her knees near the apron, and decided to try and use that to her advantage. Assuming that Hitomi was near the ropes to call out for the Queen, Kathleen's hands shot forward to wrap around the ankles of the taller competitor and yank on them! To trip her up and hopefully pull her outside of the ring.
And if that succeeded and the two came face-to-face, Kathleen would then shoot an elbow forward, as to try and nail Hitomi right in the face with that hard strike. There was a lot of fun to be had on the outside, and any size disadvantage could be neutralized with enough punishment. Plus, the referee's count would be reset if Hitomi exited, so there was plenty of time to play around if the Queen's plan worked.

Re: Kathleen Hendricks vs. Hitomi Rodouko - Queen vs. Teacher (Apex Qualifying Match)
Hitomi although not wanting to show herself in a rude manner, could have done it unintentionally, especially when she noticed how Kathleen hit the ground in fury, so when she finally realized she was getting up, but in one swift move, Hitomi would be grabbed by the ankles and taken to the ground, falling to the canvas and subsequently doing the same but falling out of the ring, Restarting the Referee's count which had reached 9 seconds.
Once on the floor outside the ring, Hitomi would see that Kathleen would rush against her, throwing her elbow against her face, although fast, Hitomi could barely cover her face with her arms, leaving her exposed, but at least protecting her face, while she tried to push to get the Queen off her back.

Re: Kathleen Hendricks vs. Hitomi Rodouko - Queen vs. Teacher (Apex Qualifying Match)
Kathleen was rattled still, but at the very least, she had some semblance of control back after yanking Hitomi out of the ring and causing her to fall down to the ground, in which she attempted to capitalize with that sharp elbow smashing against the veteran's head. But instead of her face, that elbow connected with her arms, saving the blue-haired woman from the worst of that strike.
But the top position at least assured that Kathleen could dictate the next move, and that's what she did. With Hitomi covering up, the Queen then moved her hands down low, to that left leg, and pinned it to the ground, just for Kathleen to thrust her knee harsh against the teacher's own, and target that very leg she injured so long ago!

Re: Kathleen Hendricks vs. Hitomi Rodouko - Queen vs. Teacher (Apex Qualifying Match)
Hitomi when she covered her arms to protect herself from Kathleen's attacks, felt as if she had not done it would have been worse, but things gradually took a sudden turn, with her leg being caught, but that would not be a problem if it were not for the fact that the leg that was caught was her injured leg, so when she received the impacts, she would scream in pain seriously, stopping blocking herself to try with her arms to get Kathleen off of her.

Re: Kathleen Hendricks vs. Hitomi Rodouko - Queen vs. Teacher (Apex Qualifying Match)
Kathleen had scouted Hitomi, of course. And a story long told about her was how she injured her left leg long ago, and with her age creeping up on her, that limb could turn out to be weak-- a target for the Queen to attack!
That scream was rich, and suddenly the teacher was far from coordinated as she tried to push the younger woman off. But escape wouldn't come easy, and Kathleen yanked on that injured leg to drag Hitomi across the outside, just a few feet, before they were at their destination, at one of the corners of the ring in which the Queen had found her legal weapon of choice for further punishment.
Lifting up that leg, Kathleen then swung it hard, aiming to smash it up against the solid metal corner post on the outside!

Re: Kathleen Hendricks vs. Hitomi Rodouko - Queen vs. Teacher (Apex Qualifying Match)
Hitomi was trying to resist as much as she could, her leg felt like a damn sledgehammer was hitting her right in that place, and wow, Kathleen's movements when she tried to take it off showed that it could be much harder, she lifted her leg up, and when it was hit against the hard emtal of the corner, she let out a heartbreaking scream, so much so that on the cameras you could see on Hitomi's face tears for the pain that this meant, trying to hold Khatleen and hit her as much as possible, no matter the place, the amount of force or how much it served, it was necessary to get out of that movement as soon as possible or her leg would only be dust and bones if she didn't stop it.
