Meeting in Shadows (For Arjuna)

Teuila was ecstatic. Hell ecstatic wasn't even enough to fully describe what she was feeling at the moment. Standing in the middle of the ring at the Shadow Fortress, which was really just the basement of the Ashford's compound, but despite that Teuila was in for a treat today. Last night she had received a email from Dana asking her to meet her here for a one on one session. Something of a rarity for her given how busy Dana was, so usually she found herself training with one of the woman's children or if she was being taught by her it was usually in a group with the other recruits.

But as far as just one on one time with one of the best wrestlers in the world? It was a rarity and Teuila was eager to make the most out of every single second of it. Spreading her legs and resting her hands on her knees Teuila smiled in excitement as she waited. Wearing her lioness issued yellow singlet and black stockings along with her red wrestling boots she was ready. Ready to show Dana what she had learned as well as to soak up whatever wisdom the matriarch of the shadows had to give her.

It was indeed a rarity for Dana Ashford to ask for a one-on-one training session, but since she got herself some free time, she decided to spend some time with one of her students, in this case Teuila. As the matriarch of the Ashford family as well as the owner of the infamous Shadow Fortress, Dana prided herself as a wrestling coach, and she wanted to see how far her students had gone in terms of their wrestling training. And with Teuila, she wanted to see how she was faring by doing some training session at the gym.

A little while after Teuila's arrival, Dana finally showed herself. She had gone to the changing room earlier, getting herself into her wrestling outfit; the strapless leopard-print leotard that she was well-known for. Seeing one of her protégés waiting, Dana made her way towards her, displaying her usual motherly smile that she she was well-known for, the smile that earned her the moniker "Smiling Demon". She made sure to approach Teuila in a way that she wouldn't alert her.

"Hello," Dana said with a smile. "I hope you didn't wait too long for me, Teuila." She said gently and softly like a typical housewife. Of course, a student of the Shadow Fortress would know better that despite her motherly disposition, Dana Ashford was still a very strict teacher. There were quite a few reasons why Shadow Fortress was infamous among the wrestling community, and it wasn't just because of the high-quality wrestlers it produced over the years.

Teuila continued to smile as she bounced on her feet softly in anticipation, waiting eagerly for the matriarch of the Ashfords to arrive. Natural eagerness and optimism being boosted by the opportunity to train with such a woman as Dana one on one. Perhaps it was this excitement that caused her to miss the soft foot steps of her teacher approaching from behind her, all the way up until the woman spoke, thus announcing her presence to the Samoan girl.

Nearly jumping in surprise Teuila stiffened as she recovered her composure before turning to Dana with a smile twinged ever so slightly with nervousness. Not necessarily cause of Dana herself, but more so from being caught unaware and Dana's notorious strictness, as well as Teuila's own desire to please the older woman. "OH! Mrs.Dana no I haven't no worries there!" Teuila said exuberantly showing her readiness for the training session with her cheery response.

Relaxing a little after the first bit of exchange Teuila would roll her shoulders back as her smile got a bit more chill as well. "I'm just really looking forward to a one on one session with you!" She said eagerly with a nod, bouncing on her heels once again as she did so, the excitement taking hold once more as she nodded to her teacher. "Where do we start?" She asked ready to go with the session.

Dana showed Teuila a warm smile as she listened to her. She considered her to be one of her bright students, and she wanted her to realize her full potential as a professional wrestler. She could tell that she could become a big star someday down the line, but she still needed more training before she could undertake the path of becoming a future star.

"Why don't we do a little sparring match?" Dana suggested as she motioned to one empty ring in the gym. "I want to see how much you have learned from us." Priding herself as a teacher, Dana wanted to see if Teuila had learned anything under her tutelage. Sure, she had no doubt about it, but she wanted to experience it firsthand by sparring with her in the ring.

Teuila smiled just a little more broadly at seeing the warm smile on Dana's own face. It was hard to tell with her sometimes, but Teuila had managed to more or less tell when Dana was giving a genuine smile and the more sinister kind that earned her her nickname and right now it was the former. For her it just meant that she was saying the right things and that if all went like this then this sparring session would be really truly exceptional.

At hearing Dana's suggestion to start off with a spar Teuila nodded exuberantly. "Sounds good to me!" She said energetically, ready to throw down with Dana even if it was only a spar where she would likely get woman handled. Jetting off to the ring Teuila would slide under the bottom ropes and get up to her feet. Smiling out at Dana with a grin as she waited for her teacher to enter.

Entering the ring after Teuila, Dana rolled her shoulder as she prepared herself for the sparring lesson. She looked at her protégé, showing her a smile before she took her position, getting ready to tangle with her. "Alright, now come at me. Show me what you have learned." Dana told as she took a stance, planting her feet on the mat and raising both her hands in preparation for a lock up with the younger woman.

Dana wanted to see the progress of her protégé, and she wasn't going to hold herself back. She knew that Teuila had the potential of being a great wrestler, and that was the reason why she wasn't going to half-ass this.

Teuila smiled eagerly as she stared down the older woman across from her. Even if that smile was tinged with nervousness there was no way Teuila would let herself give into that feeling, instead she was as focused as possible as she watched her mentor raise her hands up in a grappling position. "Right!" Teuila said enthusiastically as she darted forward, reaching up to grasp Dana's hands in the lock up!

As is she was fully aware that she would never beat Dana in a contest of pure strength but that was ok. Between her innate strength and all the workouts she was doing to specifically focus on her athletic prowess she was confident she could at least last against Dana in a test of strength... even if for a short period of time. But thats all she needed, because if able Teuila would lift one leg up and snake it behind Dana's leg, pulling back and pushing against the back of the woman's knee as Teuila pushed forward, trying to knock the woman over with a bit of smarts!

The two of them started grappling with each other, and Dana wanted to see how strong Teuila had grown. When she felt Teuila's leg snaking around hers, she knew what her protégé was planning and would react accordingly to it. She would widen her feet apart, keeping her ground and preventing herself from being taken down. In retaliation, she would shift her grip on Teuila as she would wrap her arms around her body before picking her up.

"Nice try, dear, but you can do better than that." Dana said to Teuila before she twisted around and slammed her down into the mat, back first. Then, she would regain her normal footing as she looked at her protégé to see how she was faring after being slammed down like that.

Teuila had attempted a more clever attempt at knocking her mentor down, looking to try and bowl her over by compromising her leg. But unfortunately Teuila just wasn't able to manage such a feat. Dana was far too clever and too strong for it to work since all she had to do was spread her legs out a bit to maintain her balance. 'Shit.' Teuila thought a she was lifted up and slammed into the mat!

"Ngh!" Grunting sharply from the impact Teuila would arch her back in pain as she cringed from the impact. Trying desperately to not show weakness in front of Dana. Rolling over a moment later Teuila would show a determined expression to Dana, refusing to back down after one slam. "You bet I can!" Teuila said as she charged forward at Dana. As she did so she reared her arm out as if she was gonna send a strike hight up at the woman.

But it was a feint. Rather instead Teuila would go low. Diving forward while dropping into a baseball slide, attempting to kick Dana's feet out from under her to take out Dana's leg from under her! 'If grappling won't work lets try speed!' Teuila thought to herself, using whatever advantage she could think of against Dana.

Right after slamming Teuila down into the mat, Dana watched her pick herself up. Smiling in approval upon hearing her words, Dana readied herself for whatever Teuila would try next. She braced herself as Teuila came closer, seemingly going for a strike. Dana was already prepared with a strike of her own, but seemed that her protégé had another thing in mind as the strike turned out to be a mere feint.

Instead of hitting her with a strike, Teuila went for a baseball slide instead, targeting Dana's leg. Fortunately for Dana, she saw the attack coming, and she shimmied to the side, avoiding the baseball slide. And when Teuila moved past her, Dana would make use of her current position to hit her protégé with a sudden hip attack right at the side of her head!
