4 matches. That number matched the amount she had done already and she needed 4 more just to get on Apex. It was not a position she would have put herself in but it was still the situation she had to get through it she wanted to win the Apex prize of LAW. That meant she had to get through tonight with Kathleen who she had heard nothing but unpleasant things. She knew what would follow would be a match that tested Ayame’s patience but Ayame had faced many different kinds of people since she got here and she knew how to handle insufferable people like Kathleen. Block out the mind games and focus to keep those tricks from messing with her. A simple goal for a simple girl with Ayame stepping out once her music was playing. The Path of the Wolf felt so fitting for the road ahead for her, one that would be brutal filled with struggles all before she had to do it all over again. The crowd loved her and she gave that love back where she could by shaking hands and waving at people she saw because the fans were something she would always appreciate about being a wrestler and being able to excite people. She had the ring to herself and used it to give the fans more appreciation by encouraging them to make their voices louder so everyone in Japan could hear them. Her mood was bright and she told herself she was not going to let anyone ruin this feeling for her.

Apex was Kathleen's moment to shine, and she'd be damned if she lets anyone get in her way of getting to that event, and winning the Openweight championship. One qualifier was already in the books for her, and now she was set to go up against yet another heavyweight, the 6 foot Ayame Akan. A woman who didn't have too many matches in LAW yet, but still not one to be underestimated. Her size and strength was apparent, but her biggest asset was likely her speed, being quite fast for a heavyweight, and that meant that Kathleen would have to be precise and overbearing in order to keep the purple-haired woman down.

Her music hitting, the Queen walked her way out, her face flat and eyes staring with dis-contempt out towards the crowd and the ring, before marching down the ramp. No time for any unnecessary posturing, this event was too important, and she needed to put her opponents away thoroughly to impress management.

Walking up the steps and entering through the ropes into the ring, Kathleen went straight to her corner, staring a hole through Ayame. No need for pleasantries, she was here for one reason and one reason only, and that was to crush the purple-haired woman under her feet. like grapes in a barrel.

The differences in their entrances told the story of how both competitors were. Ayame came out and was happy and excited to be performing for the crowd. Kathleen came out and not only didn’t do that but the mere presence of the fans seemed to irritate her. She treated Ayame with more of the same with the only difference being that Kathleen had to pay attention to her and was trying to stare through her head. Ayame didn’t even try to be friends after that since it seemed her reputation as someone nasty was true. “Oh good. I was worried you were going to waste time insulting me about something.” Ayame would take silence and stared over insults any day. This way they could both focus on the match.

Kathleen didn't have friends. She didn't attempt to make friends. The only reason she was in LAW was to impose her will and dominate others. And in this case, to win the Openweight title, and the eggplant-dressed foe in front of her was just a stepping stone on her path to that championship. No taunts, no insults, just a cold stare at her as though trying to make her submit through her glare alone. But of course, that would not occur, and as the two were in their corners, the bell rung. DING DING DING.

With the match underway, Kathleen raised her arms and began her approach, as though trying to initiate a grapple with Ayame and test their fortitude. Only, when she got close enough, the Queen's leg would suddenly shoot upwards, aiming a toe kick right for the exposed solar plexus of the heavyweight's, hoping to catch her offguard and take her breath away early on.

No words were needed between them. Both of them just got ready for the match ahead of them. One of many on their Apex warpath. It was actually calming that she had time to think and focus before the start of the match with Ayame and Kathleen both moving in at the start. She could feel Kathleen’s fierce eyes checking her but she tried to ignore the contempt she felt in them. She had to worry about the match and lock up with Kathleen for the start of the match, her first mistake was thinking Kathleen would take a fair lock up against an opponent who was the clear winner in a test of strength. The sudden jolt to her stomach caused a painful hiccup for Ayame and her hands instead moved to her belly in surprise.

Kathleen normally didn't play far, doing whatever it takes to win a match-- but it was especially so in a scenario like this, where every match mattered to if you were to become Openweight champion. Maybe in an ordinary match, the Queen would've allowed herself to test Ayame's strength, just to know what she was up against. But now, there was no reason for that-- Kathleen was planning to beat her before she even had a chance to use that strength.

Her kick worked just as intended, halting the heavyweight in her tracks, and Kathleen moved in to lock her arm around Ayame's head and yank her in a DDT position. But instead of dropping down and spiking the purple-haired woman, the Queen instead lifted her other arm and began to fire down elbows for the back of Ayame's head and neck, repeated strikes targeting Kathleen's usual point of attack, wanting to weaken them to set up for the Culmination. And she'd keep those elbows up until the referee eventually stopped her... or until Ayame collapsed.

Careless mistakes like that had cost better fighters matches. Ayame was lucky that she was still on her feet even if the kick hurt like hell and left her leaning forward. Close enough for Kathleen to grab her head and pull her in close. She was expecting to get dropped on her head but Kathleen went for something that inflicted a bit more pain. An elbow hit the back of her back and Ayame felt the sharp pain it caused while she called out from the pain. Trying to pull her head free more strikes just like it came causing some terrible pain for Ayame as Kathleen kept striking too of the most sensitive parts of the human body and she was struggling in her place feeling the back of her head and neck take precise and hard hits that soon brought Ayame to her knees.

And just like that, Ayame was brought down to her knees before the might of Kathleen Hendricks. She had made just one mistake, but it was one that she was paying dearly for it. There were few who were meaner than the Queen of Domination, and Ayame was suffering that firsthand as her head and neck was bludgeoned with those sharp elbow strikes that cut down that size advantage almost instantly.

Bigger fighters were one of Kathleen's favorites, not just because of the challenge they naturally put against her because of their size, but because of just how satisfying it was to bring them down to size, and show them how little their height meant when faced against pure brutality coming from the QoD. And now, with the wolf vulnerable before her, Kathleen stared down at her, eyes gleaming with a silent taunt, with hunger for her prey.

Then, she took a step back. But it wasn't a movement to give her opponent any respite or rest. Just as quickly as she stepped back, the Queen came crashing back in, with a knee strike aimed right for Ayame's face! Maybe in the late stage of a match, it'd be a KO blow, or one to win a match, but in the opening stages of the contest, its purpose was merely for sadistic purposes, to hurt Ayame, and further weaken her for what else Kathleen had in mind.

The sharp kick smacked her abs really hard. Hard enough that Ayame was brought to her knees by the strike. She was no softie so it was a visual that good everyone just how much it hurt to the crowd and the very pleased Kathleen. She didn’t notice Kathleen step back however she did notice Kathleen come in towards her with a knee that came up and hit Ayame’s face from her kneeling position. The knee hit her chin forcing her to look up at the lights before she started to fall back. The big Wolf brought to her back, awake but hurt enough that with only two hits she wasn’t getting up with any urgency.

*SMACK!*

The sound of that knee slamming against Ayame's chin echoed throughout the arena from the sheer force, causing a few fans to flinch while the purple-haired heavyweight to stare up at the lights and collapse. From there, Kathleen merely glared out at the audience, standing over her fallen opponent and scowling. This was the sort of brutality that one came to expect from her, that same mean streak that she showed vs. Alaina, vs. Thereisa. Cutting them down to size with her sheer cruelty, and so far, it seemed that Ayame was another name to add to that list.

But, the Queen wasn't giving Ayame too much reprieve, knowing any sort of break for the Wolf was a mercy, and Kathleen wasn't in the league of giving anyone mercy. She also wasn't going for the pin, knowing that this early, it wouldn't be anymore than a two-count, and thus she went right back on the offensive.

Grabbing onto the legs of Ayame's, Kathleen lifted them up and spread them by the ankles. And while maybe the fans sitting front-row being able to getting 'bared' the woman's clothed crotch would appreciate the sight, there was nothing dirty in mind for Kathleen. Instead, she lifted up one of her boots and thrust it down hard right onto the exposed abs of the heavyweight. If that connected, Kathleen would twist and shove her heel down against the Wolf's navel, almost like an act of torture, but also trying to entice those hands to move down.

Because the Queen wasn't just trying to torture her, but also goad her. If those hands were at her stomach, Kathleen saw that as a perfect opportunity to raise her boot up once more and push Ayame into a more compromising position. Using the grip on those legs to almost fold up the purple-haired woman, before thrusting her boot down once more, this time to stomp down onto the head and face of the heavyweight!
