Madeline Christiansen Vs Asuka Wakahisa - Written in the Stars
Re: Madeline Christiansen Vs Asuka Wakahisa - Written in the Stars
She knew it was bad luck for the groom to see the bride before their wedding. She was certain that was an actual thing. For some reason she had gotten it into her head it was similiar to bumping into her opponents in gorilla position for a match. Perhaps it was just a superstition she had made up in her head though. Still, she adhered to it, just as some people refused to step on cracks in fear of their mother's spinal health. She haunted the arena halls before the match, still in earshot of the staging area. It was only after she heard Maddie's music play for a bit did she head to gorilla position to prepare herself. The staffers had gotten use to her antics by now, and while not fully in support of them, they humored her in the least.
"You're on Ms. Star."
"Thank you citizen." She slowly backed away from the curtains until she was side by side the stagehand, and gave them a small wink.
"...What are you doing?"
Strider ★ Star dove through the curtains leaving them billowing in her wake, tumbling to the mid stage where she sprang upright, striking a heroic pose. She shot a hand to the sky, fingers wiggling before her fist clenched and she made a show of dragging something to the ground, struggling at first but giving it a sudden yank at the end. An explosion of star shaped colorful lights of varying colors and sizes spiraled around her from above, creating a cosmic aura swirling around her. She bounced with the bass in her theme, running from one side, lights following behind her like the tail of a comet. With a dramatic leap she planted herself at the edge, as she called out to her fans by her self imposed nickname. "Stargazers! Raise your voices and be heard!" There was a roar from the audience, while she was new, her gimmick seemed to have caught on. Her energy was infectious! She took off to the other side of the stage, dropping into a cartwheel until she had reached the edge (and almost falling). "Your wait is over, I am here with you!" Various hoots and cheers filled the crowd as she shot up a V sign.
As she jogged to center stage she pumped her fist, shouting "Star!" Over and over. Familiar with the chant now the crowd soon caught instantly, she had barely needed to get them going before they took it off on their own.
As the vocals kicked in she took to the ramp like a bat out of hell. Near the bottom she threw herself forward, sliding down the remaining ramp on her knee pads, throwing her arms wide. When she reached the bottom, all the colorful stars that had been following her exploded outward, the lights spreading out into the crowd dramatically. She popped herself up to her feet, running around the outside of the barricade along the ring, arm outstretched to provide as many high fives as she could along the way. The crowd was scorching hot tonight, already on their toes by the time she had entered the scene. She had to hurry faster than normal to try and get everyone, booking it to the ring as to not miss her cue.
She jumped up onto the ring apron, gripping hold of the top rope. Leaning back she pulled the rope tight before diving herself up and over, landing inside the ring in another practiced tumble. As she jumped out of her roll she struck another dramatic pose mid ring to an uproar of applause. Her timing had been perfect, striking her last big note before her music dyed off. She was starting to get the routine done to the point she hadn't winded herself tonight. A good sign! She turned to regard Madeline with a two fingered salute.
"Ms. Christiansen, I normally don't make it a habit to do battle with those who are not agents of chaos. It seems the stars have aligned and set us to face off against one another. I wish you good luck." Strider ★ Star as always spoke a bit more pronounced, more dramatic than she would as Asuka. She really played up the gimmick hard. Even now she was standing proud with her fists at her hips, puffed up like the cover of a comic book, her scarf flapping in the breeze.
She stepped from her pose, dropping herself into a grappling stand, rolling back her shoulders, hands held up and high. Her legs parted slightly, she rocked on the balls of her feet. As soon as the bell would ring, she'd attempt to start things off nice and clean with a good old fashion lock up. "Have at you!"

Re: Madeline Christiansen Vs Asuka Wakahisa - Written in the Stars
Rolling her neck as she paces back and forth, watching the curtains for her opponent. She could barely contain her excitement, the Brit doing what she can to at least excite the crowd. Until Miss Strider Star would appear.
And what a entrance she gave too, the woman diving straight passed the curtains like she was an action heroine, as if there was a bomb that was about to go off backstage. Whatever Madeline did, Asuka did it better as she got the crowd hyped, the audience liking her infectious personality and how they call her fans "Stargazers".
Wait, hold on. She's calling them Stargazers? Ironically enough, if things go Maddie's way, the Brit might get Strider Star to do some stargazing of her own...
Nevertheless, Asuka certainly put on a massive show as she came down the ramp, a few more flashy and striking superhero poses, Madeline stood with her hands on her hips. She wasn't mad since Asuka took her thunder. This shows that Maddie needed to work on her own gimmick more. As Asuka came inside the ring, she definitely played the superhero gimmick pretty well and even spoke like one. Madeline could only smile. She was really laying it thick there. But other than that, she couldn't complain. Madeline having a feeling that this would be a awesome match.
"Indeed." The accent alone would have told Asuka that she is British anyways. "It's also not as normal for me to face superheros like you. We shall see what the stars say as to who will best the other." Trying to play along to the theme, Maddie also having some star-themed moves of her own.
As Asuka dropped to a more grappling stance, Madeline dropped down with her, getting into business, her knees bent, arms raised and hands around chest height. Ready to pounce, the idol and the superhero awaits for the bell to ring. And once it does, both would come in, both having the same idea in going for the classic but best, collar and elbow lock up. "En Garde!" Madeline doesn't use full strength just yet, the British Idol just wanting to test the waters and get a feel of her opponent.

Re: Madeline Christiansen Vs Asuka Wakahisa - Written in the Stars
Strider ★ Star went in guns blazing, not holding back at all as she grappled with Maddie. If for some reason she started to overpower the girl too quickly though, she would dial it back. The fans liked the struggle, the back and forth between the two wrestlers so she would play to that. She hadn't heard anything back about Maddie, unlike some of the others she had been paired up against so she was going to play this very by the book. Of course, that didn't mean it was going to be boring by any means, but there was no need to pull out anything crazy here. Just two ladies having a good time, right?
"You're going to have to give me your all Ms. Christiansen, or else I might have you... on the ropes!" Strider ★ Star threw forward all she head, trying to break through their hold and step up beside Maddie to Irish whip her towards the ropes. She didn't have a followup attack in mind, no, just a bit of acrobatics to help wake up the crowd, to let them know they needed to be paying attention. She was more comfortable leading with something like this with someone who was seemingly as good matured as her... though they would see how true that was.
If Maddie had been sent to the ropes she would wait for her to make her return back, stepping up to leapfrog over her and strike a dramatic pose before whirling back around to prepare for another pass.

Re: Madeline Christiansen Vs Asuka Wakahisa - Written in the Stars
Madeline wanted to stay controlled in the first few moments, just testing how tough Strider Star was. While the Brit held back with her strength, Asuka certainly didn't, going all out just when their hands latched onto each other! Which did have the Brit take a step back and a half, only for Madeline to regain her footing and start putting more into this.
Asuka made it clear that she should give it her all, and Madeline did agree. Should she be holding back? What if she did and the opponent got the advantage earlier on because of a decision to not give her 100%. In every match, you should. Funnily enough, that did inspire the Brit as she smiled.
Although Maddie didn't get her chance to really put some oomph into the lock up as Asuka broke the hold and Irish Whip the Brit to the ropes, ironic with the name. Madeline bounced on the ropes before ricocheting off them and coming back with speed. Expecting a follow up to the Irish Whip, she was surprised when Asuka leapfrogged over Madeline, Strider Star seeming like she wants to do some acrobatics.
Well Maddie can certainly go with that.
As the British Star moves to the ropes, she decided to go for some acrobatics of her own, the move in mind intent to hype the crowd even more and show that this is a match you don't want to look away. With her athleticism shown as she made her entrance, Madeline isn't new to the whole flips and tricks show. As shown when she came near the ropes, she performed a no handed handspring on the ropes, just some showy tricks as Strider Star struck a dramatic pose. Landing on her two feet, Maddie would attempt to leap up onto the air, her body turning in the air as she attempts to hit Asuka with a corkscrew enziguri!

Re: Madeline Christiansen Vs Asuka Wakahisa - Written in the Stars
While Strider ★ Star did love to appeal to the crowd, she had a keen awareness of where Maddie was as the other woman kept moving. The only way she would have been caught completely off guard is if the woman had come to a sudden dead halt after the leapfrog. As it stood, she landed to strike her pose with a flourish, just enough to wet the audience's whistle. Her attention whirled back around to her opponent moments after, she knew better than to keep her back to a competitor for too long.
Still though, she had intended to keep the train rolling. Perhaps a nimble dropping to the floor to allow Maddie to pass over her, or a elegant twirl to the side as if she were bull fighting. The woman opposite had different plans in mind though. She witnessed her other half spring from the ropes and had fancied herself ready for whatever came next.
As Maddie took to the air, Strider ★ Star took a bracing step back as the woman twirled. Unfamiliar with her style and capabilities, she could be doing anything from a position like that. Her arms came up defensively, expecting to take the full brunt of the woman's weight in the form of a body attack. Instead what she got was a biting kick which almost entirely slipped back her last minute guard. While the kick hadn't impacted it's intended target, the momentum behind the blow was enough to send Strider ★ Star stumbling to the side, arms flailing wide as she fought to stay upright.
After she had found her footing, she continued movement away from Maddie, as a means to shield herself from another quick followup. Twirling as she neared the ropes to come to a halt, looking back to Maddie with a big grin on her face. She clammed a hand to the back of her neck, rubbing lightly. "Well okay! Seems like I need to keep my eyes on just one star at the moment. Consider it done Ms. Christiansen." She brushed back a few strands of black hair from her face with a heavy huff.
She slowly moved away from the ropes, tapping out the toes of her boots every few steps as she circled. "You'll have to show me that one again when I'm not on the receiving end." She tilted her chin with a smirk, twisting her body slightly as she quick stepped backwards rapidly to see how well Maddie turned to follow her movements. After a short burst of speed, she returned back to her former grapple stance, ready for round two. She would give the other woman the win for the first exchange. Had she actually taken that kick head on, she was sure she's be hurting far more than her sore arms.

Re: Madeline Christiansen Vs Asuka Wakahisa - Written in the Stars
In the battlefield, it's never wise to turn your back on the enemy, lest you wish to get hit while you aren't looking. Asuka went with a dramatic pose as Madeline used the momentum to fuel her own reversal attack, the British Idol certainly not a slacker in terms of athleticism. Plus, coupled with the pair's need for the flashy and dramatic, it certainly got the crowd's attention.
Would even get a bigger pop for the Brit had she actually hit her target. However it would barely hit the last minute guard of Strider Star, and not the intended target. But, since said guard was indeed a last minute one, it did send Asuka stumbling to the side, although not to the ground like Maddie did, doing a front flip in the air after the impact from the enziguri and landing on her back, her experience in this field of work did allow her to land well and safely. It may not have been a clean hit, but it did tell Asuka that she should really keep her eyes on her.
"Best you do that, chap!" Brushing her attire and her maroon hair as she rose up to her feet, not wanting to stay down for long. "There maybe many stars in the sky but you almost missed the shooting star." Grinning, she kept on with the star references. Still wise to play along and push a good narrative.
Shaking her legs and her arms, she took a deep breath before circling with Strider Star. "You'll have plenty of chances to see that on the replays." Her body reacted when Asuka took a step backwards, rapid with her movements, the Brit shuffled her feet forward in reaction. But after that, Asuka returned to the former stance, Madeline nodding in approval as she re-assumed her own stance, watching intently what might happen next as she edged closer and closer, cautiously getting closer...

Re: Madeline Christiansen Vs Asuka Wakahisa - Written in the Stars
She nodded her approval. The British wrestler seemed to have no problem keeping pace with her. That was good. It meant the crowd was in for a show. Despite them being competitors Asuka didn't seem all that intent on pushing for victory for the time being. Maddie was no villainous heel after all, not that she could tell. Trying to reign her in early and hard wouldn't bring anything to the table. It was time to give the people a spectacle.
She furrowed her brow in mild confusion. What was a chapter anyhow? Shrugging the question aside she inclined her chin at Maddie. "I'm not sure if you planet, but space puns are my thing. Keep it up and I am going to have you send you packing on your milky way with yourcomet tail tucked between your legs."
Strider ★ Star not content to stay back and wait, came forward, releasing her previous stance as she reached Maddie. She drew back her arm, stepping in firmly to plant herself before trying to deliver a thunderous backhanded knife edge chop across the woman's chest, the sort that would echo throughout the arena and bring gasps to the cringing faces of the onlooking crowd. She didn't follow it up right away, issuing a challenge for the other girl to take her swing next as she intimated a strike exchange.
