A New Star! - Blaise and Asuka Wakahisa

Blaise lets her foot go free, but not without considering making her work for it. But ultimately, her snorting is more interesting. He lets her sit up unimpeded, as well. "No, I definitely heard it. You snorted. You're a snorter! Hah!" He flashes her a lopsided grin. "I'm gonna tell all the world about it!"

He's not even trying to be credible with his threat.

Fortified herself in the impenetrable walls of denial while recrossing her legs. "I am not a snorter, maybe YOU snorted. You should really get your facts straight before accusing people. That's just rude." She folded her arms firmly, head lifted to the side. She still peeked at him sideways, to watch if he was buying the ruse. "You'd better not go around spreading false information about me, otherwise we're going to have beef. Like hamburgers full."

She turned back to face him, pointing two fingers at her eyes before jutting a single finger ta him as she squinted. She was watching him now. Look out. "Lets back to talking about you, I liked that more. Like... what is the most embarrassing thing you've ever done that you haven't ever told someone about?"

Blaise's face is plain to read: Eskimo-Blaise is not buying your icecubes, wayfarer!

The teen transitions onto hands and knees only to leeaan in closer to her. His eyes narrow, achieving a challenging look. "I like hamburgers." Which is the least-threatening thing anyone could ever say, ever. And he knows that.

He relents, however, plopping back down to his knees. She's given an owlish blink.

"Well, if I told you, it wouldn't be something I never told someone, would it?," he posits. "But, uh... huh..." His eyes lift in thought, sincerely wracking his brain for a genuinely embarrassing moment he's not told anyone about. The problem here is that few things embarrass Blaise. Losing a match to a girl? Big whoop, she earned it. Losing a match to the federation's token loser? Bah, look how much they've grown! Having zero wins? Improvement takes time! So tracking down something that embarrasses him, even in his personal life, is a challenge. Add to that one that no one else knows, and you have an uphill battle for days. "Geeze... tough one..."

His lower lip is nipped onto, worrying his teeth over it. The pressure's on! Every second he doesn't say something, the more awkward the moment becomes!

"Oh!" He finally releases his lip and looks back to her. "My family hates what I do."

As Blaise leaned in, she leaned a bit further back almost in sync. Two magnetic forces working opposite each other. She blinked at his admission of liking hamburgers met with a bit of confusion before she linked it back to what she had just said, immediately feeling a bit foolish. "They... are alright, yeah."

As he returns to his side of the world, she straightens herself to sit upright again, rocking lightly on her legs. She seemed genuinely surprised her request was being taken seriously. She had only really meant it as a joke to shift the topic away from her, not intending it to bear fruit. Her head tilted to the side as he struggled to think of something. Was he really the unflappable or was he just trying to give her some fluff answer? The longer and more serious he seemed to be pondering the question had her leaning slightly closer and invested. It was hard to temper her want to giggle again, but she did so with her curiosity under threat she might snort again and start the cycle again.

"Oh... really?" She blink, pouting faintly. Her father wasn't fond of what she did either, but she wouldn't say he hated it. More like a quiet disapproval. He didn't really believe women were meant to be doing something so violent. He felt that way about just about any strong female character in the movies too. A bit too old school in his thinking of roles perhaps. Still, he hadn't tried to stand in her way. Maybe he knew it didn't matter, maybe he had understood he hadn't had enough impact in raising her for it to carry enough weight, or maybe her brothers had convinced him. She wasn't sure.

She slowly sat back again, eyeing Blaise with a twinge of sadness in her expression. Hearing him talk about wrestling so passionately moments ago to having the crushing realism that he wasn't supported in what he loved by his own blood was something she thought was crushing. Imagining their roles reversed, she felt as though it would do far more damage to her then it appeared to do to him. "I'm sorry to hear that. Thank you, for sharing. You didn't have to."

It's impossible to say how effected Blaise is by his family's disapproval. His expression is set at a rare neutral, his attention present, but his gaze drifting. "Well, I mean... you asked," he submits mutely. "They used to go to my shows, back in the States. Then they stopped. Then they got more vocal about it. Then they stopped talking about it altogether."

The bright blue eyes flit back to Asuka's face with a dull smile. "M'dad said I was throwing my life away before I got on the plane for Japan. Aheh. He was never much for inspirational speeches."

Had she known his record, she might have been a bit more realistic with him. Not to be down on him, but out of concern over being a living punching bag for other people. It wasn't exactly a healthy existence. Blissfully unaware of Blaise's secure jobber status she opted to be her usual optimistic self in hopes of lighting the mood again. "Parents just want what they feel is best for their kids, ya'know? Sometimes it's hard to really see the value in things we don't understand." She left it at that, not wanting to overstep her bounds by speaking more directly about people she knew nothing about.

She smiles brightly over at Blaise as she rocks forward, hopping up to her feet. She reached a hand out, offering to help the other wrestler to his feet. "When is your next show date? Maybe I'll get a ticket to come cheer you on." It seemed only fair. He had offered to come to a LAW show to see her in action. Maybe this would help boost his confidence back to where it had been previously. She didn't mind seeing how other promotions in the area operated either. She might be able to pick up some interesting tidbits for her to use over in LAW.

Blaise simply nods, a relatively somber note for an otherwise energetic individual. But his smile does seem to brighten a little at her words. The hand is taken, though clearly isn't needed as he simply rocks back to his feet and stands. "In a couple days," he says. "Like, the mid-week show is usually when they have me on. I've not quite broken into the weekend cards yet. They got their favorites," he purports.

"If you come to the show, though, you've gotta let me know so I can wave at'cha or something!"

Regardless if he needed it or now she helped Blaise to his feet. She stepped up to him, lightly brushing off his shoulder lightheartedly as if dusting him off. Good as new, ready to go. Though likely not. "Mid week show sounds good. We should exchange information, so you can text me if you're on the card this upcoming week. I should be free to snag a ticket assuming they don't sell out regularly."

She took a small step back, locking her fingers in between one another as her hands tucked against the back of her neck. "Maybe if you know for sure enough in advance, I can even make a sign or something. That way I'll be easier to spot... unless you have a lot of fans..." She furrows her brow in deep thought. "I guess I could just text a picture of the sign and send it to you that day so you know what to look for." It seemed as though the maybe had turned into a definitely.

She may be underestimating this teen's physical resilience. He's sore, and he won't be back at 100% for a while, but he's already got pep back in his step. To wit, he's bobbing excitedly on the balls of his feet at the prospect of a sign. "That'd be cool! Actually, that'd be the first time anyone's ever made a poster for me before!" That might answer the question of whether or not he has a lot of fans. "And if it's half as bright as you, I'm sure I'd see it!"

What he means is her flashy way of dressing. But that might not have come out quite clearly. Either way, he's all smiles now. And the brushing off of his shoulder barely merits a blink from him. He's used to physical contact, and it didn't feel particularly charged with anything.

"It will be my first time making one too! A whole evening of firsts!" For all the shows she had been to, it was nrmally ehr brothers who handled the props, as they were the ones made to hold them. As the smallest among the bunch, and the only female, she often times pulled the girl card as to why she couldn't help hold the signs all evening. She clapped excitedly at the thought. While she did arts and crafts all the time, most notably for her ring gear, this would be a departure from that. She hadn't drawn anything for other people's eyes since secondary school. She was already planning out a shopping list. She didn't seem to make a connection between the lack of fans and signs.

"Aw, thank you!" She had taken it as him calling her smart, of all the possibilities. She stood tall and proud, grinning from ear to ear. She was bright though, a captured beam of light embodied as a girl nobody knew. Yet. The mood had changed for the better in the lonely gym. This was far more her speed. "I'll have to go get my phone from my bag." She casually tossed a thumb back to the locker room.
