A New Star! - Blaise and Asuka Wakahisa

"Lil' bit," Blaise says with a nod. After a beat, he adds a coy, teasing grin. He's just needling at her in an effort to get her proverbial goat. In the end, he shakes his head with a chuckle. "I dunno if I can inspire anyone. I just like to think I'm entertaining while being out there, doing what I love, and proving I've got what it takes!"

Those videos she finds on him are going to be horrible. Every last one of them. Though they're rife with a can-do spirit and a refusal to give in until he's, one, generally incapable of even standing, and two, on the verge of passing out from pain. Or three, simply knocked out.

"I'll leave the inspiring to the dazzling, athletic, yet heartthrobby types like yourself," he notes.

"I dunno, if I didn't know how reckless you were being by not tapping sooner, I would have for your determination to keep going to be pretty inspiring." She unfolded her legs, stretching one out to poke his knee with the toe of her sneaker. "Really though Blaise, you need to take better care of yourself than that. You had me worried... And I was suppose to be your opponent. A bit scared for you if you come up against someone who actually wants to really hurt you. Those people are out there in this business. Just be careful, okay? Can't have fun if you're in the hospital, unless you like being in traction and jello."

Asuka could by into the first two compliments no problem. She reddens slightly at the tail end, furrowing her brow. "What do you mean heartthrobby types?" She folds her arms, eyeing him an a judgemental way that she had earlier. She didn't seem offended, just taken a not aback by what she felt was the suddenness of it. She clearly didn't see that in herself.

Blaise might have elaborated, were her question not fresh on the heels of an extremely tired, droning lecture he's heard millions of times before. But he doesn't let it bother him much. The most dismay he expresses at the repetition from yet another source is a brief little 'hah' of a sigh. "I always give my best. Every match could be your greatest match, unless you don't let it be. Leave it all in the ring, I say."

That and he's physically capable of handling a ridiculous amount of punishment. A full career of taking abuse has at least that as an upside. Not that he'd ever spin it that way. It's all determination!

But given he's been called to defend his never-say-die approach to wrestling yet again, his disposition has adjusted slightly. So rather than what may have been a more satisfying explanation, all she gets is an, "And you heard me," with a stout nod.

The lack of actual explaination flipped her switch again. She was puffing up and getting huffy as her cheeks flared pink. "I heard you. I don't understand you." it seemed any topic revolving around her appeal would be met with resistance at this point regardless of how gently presented or genuine.

While she not only enjoyed and embraced her femininity, it being brought up was another thing entirely. She grew up within a cluster of all male siblings, something that conditioned her to call the girlie aspect of herself into question, especially when it came from another man. It was her own show of machismo... Granted she looked far more adorable in her outrage than anything else. "Explain."

Blaise cocks his head at her and leans back, propping himself with a single hand. The poise is meant to project confidence and superiority, the latter being something Blaise generally never felt with anyone. Confidence, though, that he has in abundance.

"And what if I don't?," he counters with a perked eyebrow.

His defiance on the matter only seemed to flustered her more. She sat up as straight A's she could trying to look bigger than she was. "I will be very, VERY, cross with you." Oh... Please no... Not that. She didn't seem very capable of a real threat, mostly bark and no bite when it came to people who didn't seem terrible in nature. Though Asuka wasn't the strongest judge of character... Something that would surely never come up again in her career to bit her in the butt.

"Why do you have to be so difficult! You shouldn't say stuff if you aren't willing to explain. That's extra levels of rude." She nodding firmly, power pouting at him for effect. She extended her leg to set her sneaker his way to gave him a light shake.

One must not extend things at others if they aren't in offering. So Asuka reaching her leg out to Blaise is clearly just that, and one he takes. That is to say, he grabs at her offending foot.

Catch or miss, his eyes roll at her scolding. "Ugh, just think about it for like two seconds and you'll work it out," he chides back to her. "Some things are blunt'n straightforward!" Should he happen to have her foot at this junction, he'll bob it about a moment before steadily elevating it to see if she eventually topples over.

She huffs loudly as he grabs hold of her foot, leg still extended as she refolds her arms tightly. She gives him a look like this was all his fault, again. A familiar look. He had a way of drawing it out of her. "I'm not heartthrobby... That is like, boy band stuff. NOT wrestler stuff." She opens her mouth to say something more but as he lifts her leg she blinks in surprise. She just sort of... plops over onto her back, arms still folded, leg raised assuming he still held it. She just sort of half laid there, compensating how her life had gone to get to this point.

She giggledsnorted softly, clapping her hands to her mouth before trying to pull her leg back. "Wow, okay!"

"Hey, you're the one who's a lady-wrestler. I can't say if dudes are heartthrobby. I'm not into'em," Blaise explains. Of course, in that one sentiment there's a whole lot to unpackage. But he isn't going to be the one to do it. No, sir.

Still holding her foot, Blaise lifts on his knees and leans towards her with a stare that's equal parts accusing and skeptical. "Did you just snort?" In this position, he'd be holding her leg at a vertical tilt while she remains on her back!

Asuka may have questioned it, if she had the time to really think about it. The more pressing matter at the moment was being called out on her embarrassing laugh habits. She peered up at him awkwardly as she tugs to take back her foot to put her leg back down. "No! Of course not. You are hearing things!"

She was scooting herself back now, trying to sit up. "You might want to get your hearing checked when you go in for a checkup for all that... stuff I did to you. Better safe than sorry."
