2021 LAW Halloween Party! (Semi-Open Thread)

Seeing events pass by in her position, TORA decided that now would be a good time to go mingle with the other patrons of the burgeoning Halloween party. Helping herself up after some moments that constituted a loss of balance, she placed her hands on her hips, looking around to see if there's any familiar faces in the room, pondering for a moment and narrowing her eyes, scanning the entire place. Sure enough, she does happen to notice Skylar wandering off, and from there, TORA stumbles over to her general direction, but in a more careful manner (As careful as she can be in her inebriated state) as to not repeat the same event that happened on entry.

Cheryl had been the passive observer for now since her little entrance and helping Gil with her cards, and had little reason to change that since everything seemed to be going nicely. She mingled here and there but was moving from place to place just enjoying the party. It was when she took a seat and started to relax that she finally took the hat off.

"Lively bunch it's tiring just looking at them." Cheryl said as she stretched out a little bit while taking the moment to relax after walking around the entire party and getting here. Taking sips of her drink and looking around for anything else that might interest her.

Skylar was pretty quick to fade back into the crowd after her contest with Satsuki, getting more to drink and just living her best life. There was nothing Sky loved more than fun, and parties were among the best way to have fun. When she looked up, she saw a rather familiar girl kneeled over the apple basket, inviting someone to join her. Sky recognized her as Allie Lee, a popular Twitch streamer. A devilish grin spread across the brunette's face. Time to show Allie how dumb it was to lean over water like that.

With the stealth of a tiger stalking it's prey, Skylar slowly and silently approached Allie from behind. She loomed behind her victim, before suddenly pushing the poor streamer's head into the water. "BAHAHAHAHAHAH!" When Allie wipes the water from her eyes, she'll find Skylar laughing her ass off. "Gotcha!"

In leaning over the apple bucket, Allison had been hoping someone else would take her up on her challenge. After all, Satsuki and Skylar seemed to have had a lot of fun, and she was eager to have her turn. She was sure that everyone here would be open to another game, in the name of good fun and holiday spirit. But rather than meet Allie for a round of apple-bobbing, her would-be opponent had other ideas.

Allie was looking back and forth across the room in search of a potential partner, but she was completely unaware of Skylar creeping up behind her - until it was too late. Suddenly, she felt the hand on the back of her head, and she was shoved forward, her face landing in the water with a splash!

"AKPHFF-!!" she gasped, sputtering and coughing as she flailed her arms back and forth, in the process spilling more water in all directions. It would only be when Sky released her that she was finally able to draw her head back, catching her breath and shaking her head from side to side to wring out the water that was currently dripping off her hair and trickling onto the collar of her maid outfit. When she at last came to, she let out a sigh, her shoulders slumping. This was decidedly less fun than she had envisioned.

"Aww..." Allie pouted, before looking up to see Sky laughing uproariously. "My costume's all wet now! And not even, like, in a sexy way either! This sucks..."

Skylar was hunched back, laughing her ass off like this was the funniest thing she'd ever seen. Allie never saw her coming! God, this was hilarious. Though, she'd be lying to say she didn't feel a twinge of remorse when she saw the sad look on the streamer's face. "Alright, I'll grab you a towel, heh." She smiled, patting the soaked girl on the back before grabbing a folded towel off the buffet table and handing it to the streamer.

"I'll admit, that was a bitch move. Still funny though." The brunette would snicker as Allie took the towel. "Anyway, name's Skylar Jones." She says, offering Allie a hand shake.

Satsuki heard Harmonia, but before she could reply, something interesting caught her eye. The Queen of Clubs watched as her opponent for the apple-bobbing contest, Skylar Jones, stalked towards Allie, her old companion from earlier in the night. Based on the way that Allie was hunched over the pit and how Skylar's face was fixed into a mischievous grin, it was obvious that somebody's night was about to get a lot more wet. Quickly, Satsuki fished her phone out of her pocket, tapping a few times before pointing it towards the affair.

Sure enough, it wasn't long until Allie's face was dunked into the water! Barely stifling a laugh so as to not give herself away, Satsuki tapped away a few more times at her phone. "Don't use Twitter much, but... alright, there we go."

She turned back towards Harmonia. "Anyway, yeah, that's me. Satsuki Hayano. Back in Osaka, some old associates of mine used to call me the Queen of Clubs. Guess the name stuck." She shrugged, unimpressed by her own epithet. "I guess you've heard of me?"

Needless to say, Allie's close encounter with the apple bucket was putting a damper on her enjoyment of the party. She pouted, stepping back from the barrel as she hugged her arms closer around her sides to compensate for the chill coming from the air hitting her soaked dress. "Okay, okay, maybe I won't bob for apples, then..." she huffed to herself.

However, rather than mock her over her misfortune, the same girl who had dunked her head in the first place was now approaching Allie to make amends. "Huh?" she looked up at first, not expecting Skylar to show such mercy, but as the brunette returned with a towel, she realized her intentions were genuine. With a smile, she dried herself off before handing the towel back over to Skylar.

"Thankies!" she cheered, taking Skylar's hand for a firm shake. All prior ill will seemed to vanish as she faced the girl with a grin on her face. "Nice to meet ya, Skylar! I'm Allie Lee, but you probably knew that already, L-O-L!" she added, spelling out the acronym for good measure.

Silver had turned into something of a passive guest rather than an active hostess. She'd opted to mingle amongst the crowd rather than stand aside of it, though she'd be sure to offer drinks to those with empty glasses. And to her joy, it seemed that the buffet was slowly being chewed away at as well!

"I hope not literally...!" She'd laugh to Gil, whom mentioned the fact that many of the guests here tonight would be sure to try and beat one another black and blue had the ring been their locale for the evening, and not the now-filled side room. But with jokes aside, Silver was left with something of a nervous shiver running down her back as she slowly slid out of the group. To be stood next to the long curtain to the back of the room.

"So...Erm..." She'd try to raise her voice, hoping to gain the attention of all present if only to explain. "The entertainment for the party...I kind of...Forgot to get..." With her hand up behind her head, Silver awkwardly scratched her own back, whilst blushing from the only failure she'd suffered under the role of hostess. Soon after, she'd opt to peel the long curtain back, revealing a empty ring before the masses. One that would most certainly remain empty - thanks to the aforementioned forgetfulness of the heavyweight hostess.

"Sooo...I..." Sidestepping behind the curtain briefly, Silver equipped to hand a long stand and microphone, before sliding back into view.

"Does...anyone know any jokes?"

Emaline finished her current song just in time to allow Silver to make her disappointing announcement. "Hmph..." The pinkette scoffed. "How pitiful." She handed her microphone to Shira. "See to it that the sound systems are re-arranged for this new stage."
And with those orders given, Emaline sauntered over to the ill-prepared hostess and snatched her microphone right out of her hands. "Worry not, I shall remedy your blunder." The Viper assured the likely surprised Silver. Now with a new microphone in hand on a larger stage, with all eyes on her, Emaline sung her heart out.

She chuckled, a hint of nerves, maybe it was because she wasn't sure if they wouldn't literally actually tear her to shreds, given the chance. "...Well, none-the-less, you really did great...!" Gil swayed in place, tapping her foot with her hands behind her back. "...You know, I've wondered about how they make candy-corn for a little while now, it's waxy, right? But it doesn't really taste like wax. it's totally just 99% sugar! The other 1% has to be something to get it that way, maybe it's corn syrup, but how would they get syrup out of corn...? Unless it's not really corn, maybe it's fake corn... What do you think Sliver?" Gil turned back to look for her friend, but she has slipped away. "...Silver...?"

She spotted her up on the stage, looking for stand-up routine, but got something much more charming, a song sung be yours truly, Emaline...! Gil wasn't aware the woman could sing, but she was pleasantly surprised by the performance, clapping and cheering with a smile as she ended it...!
