The Lightweight Classic Match 2: Samantha Roberts vs Chika Igarashi

Chika managed to overturn the momentum of the dropkick to her side, managing to turn what she planned to be a regular knee strike into a much more powerful Kitchen Sink, flipping Sam over her knee as the blunette flipped in mid-air before falling on her back, left sucking air on the floor!

Chika planned to stand strong and follow up her attack...but she ended up falling to the floor as well. Just because she used Sam's dropkick against her didn't mean it wasn't hurting, and indeed, a second after hitting the Kitchen Sink, she fell to the floor, trying to catch her own breath, all the while the crowd applauded the performance of the two lightweights so far in the match.

Despite falling victim to Chika's strike, Sam soon discovered that she wasn't the only woman that was downed! It took her a moment to find her bearings. She rolled over onto her front. She grit her teeth and summoned all the spirit she could to slowly will herself up to her knees. And when she did, Sam found herself stuck. She wanted heavily and waited for Chika to meet her.

"I'll show you...how badly I want this!" Roberts would roar as she wound up a stiff forearm and aimed it at the side of Igarashi's head!

If the blow wasn't enough to knock Chika down, Sam would fully expect Chika to meet her blow for blow! The strike contest would be on! And Samantha would be determined to power through it and come out on top!

As Sam and Chika found their way to their feet, the blunette would want for Chika to see how motivated she was to go for the title, moving towards the Joshi and smashing her forearm in her head:

Chika grunted, but looked back at her rival with a fierce, competitive gaze, shooting and trying to ram her forearm into her head back!

Chika wordlessly met Sam's forearm with one of her own! Sam's entire frame would lean to the side as the blow left her reeling. Sam would place a palm on the canvas to catch herself- to stop herself from collapsing.

The audience would look on with respect and approval as the pair of wrestlers put their drive and fighting spirit on display. Sam would take a moment to will herself back into this. And when she did, she'd rise to her feet and very quickly aim a roundhouse kick at Igarashi's chest!

"RAGH!"

Rather than repeat the same strike again, Sam, who managed to keep herself from falling to Chika’s forearm, would unleash a hard roundhouse kick across Chika’s chest!

Chika shook and almost fell to a knee, but managed to catch herself at the last moment. She couldn’t let herself be beat in the kick department!

She swung her leg in a similar motion to Sam’s, except aiming to do so quicker and with more momentum, practically whipping Sam’s chest with her own Roundhouse Kick!

Sam fought fire with fire, and so did Chika! The blue-haired brawler rose up and kicked Igarashi for all she was worth! But she soon found that her opponent was something of a veteran in the ring and as a striker! Sam would be kicking herself later for thinking the shin guards and fighting gear may have been more for show! Sam stood there doubled over and breathing heavily after landing her own kick. And when Chika took a stance to return the favor, her opponent paid her back in spades!

"AUGH!" Roberts gasped as Chika nailed with a more forceful and precise kick than Sam had thrown earlier! Chika's Roundhouse sent Sam teetering several steps backward! The lightweight eventually caught herself near the ropes and sank down to one knee!

Sam would hold her chest and collect herself! When she found the resolve, she'd try and fire back by running at Chika and taking to the air to attempt a crossbody in desperation!

"Haaaaa!"

Chika’s kick knocked Sam down to a knee…and had she not been so close to the ropes, she would’ve definitely knocked her rival down. Chika motioned Sam to come at her, to unleash her next attack…

Sam would rush straight for Chika, jumping at her with a crossbody! Chika didn’t anticipate her foe attacking her with her whole body, as she couldn’t dodge or catch the blunette from midair, as Sam successfully knocked Chika onto her back!

More and more it was becoming obvious that Sam wasn't going to win an outright brawl or a kicking contest with the likes of Chika! Roberts recognized that she needed to change the pace!

"Got you!" Sam would cry out as she felt all 110 pounds or so of her petite, lightweight frame crash against Chika's upper body! The crowd roared as Roberts managed to take her opponent down! Having landed on top of Igarashi, Sam acted with urgency! She'd grab hold of the bare heel of Chika's outside leg and roll towards the girl's head to fold her into a deep cradle-style pin!

"Count!" Sam would yell to the official who was already racing to the canvas to check Chika's shoulders! Should Sam manage to pin Chika, the official would start counting and anticipation in the arena around this quarterfinal match would rise!

"ONE....!!"

Sam would quickly work to fully trap Chika in a pin. After taking her down with a solid crossbody, she would swiftly fold her body into 2 to try and effectively pin her!

"ONE!"

"TWO! NO!"

Only for Chika to use her back to push her lower body into the air to kick out, trying to roll away from Sam. The blunette likely realized that she couldn't outstrike Chika and was taking a new strategy going forward...as Chika should've after the 2 collided again.

Sam had applied all the leverage she could in this pin! She grit her teeth with effort and she pulled down on Chika's bare heel and folded her rival lightweight up well! But even with this, Igarashi proved to be a tough opponent!

"Rgh!!" The bluenette would grunt as her opponent powered out and kicked out at 2!

The kick-out saw Sam dislodged from Chika's person! Roberts had momentum on her side and even if it didn't convert to a win here and now, the petite, peppy, wrestling performer would quickly rise to her feet!

"Not yet! I'm not done yet!" Sam would will herself up and nod to the crowd for a moment before making a beeline for the ropes on her side of the ring!

Sam would build up speed as she looked to rebound off the ropes and throw herself at Chika, this time with a Running Dropkick! If the Dropkick connected, the girl would push herself up to her feet and point to the far corner of the ring! Sam would look to follow up on her strike by scaling the turnbuckles and taking her place on the top ropes! Roberts would look down at ringside and wink to Thirteen as she once again waited for Chika to rise! If Samantha managed to maintain her momentum, she'd look to leap high into the air in the hopes of landing a shotgun dropkick from the top rope!
