A New Star! - Blaise and Asuka Wakahisa

Blaise maintains that pressure in the lockup, taking an early advantage before she braces and progress slows - possibly halts altogether. He doesn't retreat, however. He seems content to let this be an honorable duel of strength and leverage. His back arches, leaning more in towards her. Should things continue to go his way, he'll be marching her back towards the ropes to arch her over them.

"I'm.. Blaise..!," he replies, a bit strained in the midst of the contest. "Wrestler.. for.. a local fed'..! Been here.. a few months..!" A snicker starts to bubble up, despite the strain at play. "I'm.. wearing my gear..! You didn't notice?" His head dips to indicate his scanty attire before affixing his gaze to her face again.

She was doing an alright job of holding him at bay, possiblity even starting to even the both of them out. That was until he started talking. Her staining face was ablaze with confusion over this whole scenario. "I... What? No... I didn't..." she took her eyes off his face for just a moment... Sure enough he was in ring gear. The distraction she imposed upon herself was enough for him to gain proper leverage on her, walking her back to the ropes steadily as she back peddled to try and gain back her footing.

She grunted as there was no place left to go, be bent back against the ropes she raised her arms away from the lock up, there was no point in struggling against it now. She put up her arms to silently request a break, no ref around to do it for her. "Why didn't you say anything?"

He didn’t anticipate it, but the distraction is one he’ll gladly take advantage of! After all, the girl is strong, as advertised. He ushers her forcefully against the ropes, arching her until she lifts her hands. It wouldn’t even have been a two-count before he released the pressure on her, letting her stand straight again, and backs off a step.

“Because ya never asked what I do,” he replies. “And then it just seemed more fun to let you find out like this.”

Fists prop to hips, lopsided, somewhat goofy smile playing on his face. “Nice to meet’cha.” Again.

Oooooooh she gave him such a look. Lips pouted, eyes narrowed. " Nice to meet you. Again." She was still leaning against the ropes gently rocking against them. The small bouncing in place really cut down on whatever it was she was trying to get across with her look, a bit more comical than intended.

She cautious slipped away from the ropes, trying to circle Blaise to make her way back to the center of the ring. "Okay Blaise, Mr. Wrestling Man. If that IS your real name and occupation." She spoke with a light hearted air, prodding at him verbally. She planted her feet and dipped her upper body, looking far more ready than she had previously, even when the two had briefly locked up. Arms raised she turned her hand over to gesture with two fingers to motion him to "bring it on" as she smirked.

"Show me yours and I'll show you mine." She teased, speaking of course about their moves. In her mind the context made perfect sense. She wasn't sure what to make of him, but the show of acrobatics had been a bit telling. She was watching him now, looking at him far more closely as a whole than she had until this point.

Despite the attempted delivery of her tone, Blaise meets her re-acquaintance with a smile that causes his eyes to go briefly squinty. It may not have been the reaction she was looking for, but Blaise had a tendency to wear his heart on his sleeve; it couldn't be helped. He was having a good time, whether or not she was.

He makes no effort to stop her from moving around him and to the center of the ring, turning to face her. "Got it printed right on my ID. Mister. Wrestling. Man," he states matter-of-factly. And suddenly, he pops back into the standard opening posture, legs spread and hands raised. He's ready to meet her and resume their.. what exactly is this they're doing, anyway? A match? He'll treat it like a match. She'd probably prefer it if he did, anyway. No more treachery!

Of all the ways he could've interpreted her invitation, he took it precisely the way she'd intended; context remaining intact. But it doesn't stop him from teasing her back: "Thought you'd never ask," complete with flirtatious wink. She may be relieved to find that rather than do something lewd after that statement, he instead attempts to invade her personal space and physically grab at her personage. You know, a standard lockup! No trickery, just a proper 'start' to the match, with a repeated effort to quickly overwhelm her.

"Left it with your bag, huh?" She had questioned him on her way around the man, giving a small shake. She lightly pat her two fingers to the side of her chest. "Whole point is to wear the name tag ya'know." She poked her tongue out him before dropping herself into a ready stance where she had issued her challenge from

She got what she was expecting and what she was hoping for as they locked up. His initial surge into her threatening to buckle her form, but she held. Blaise had a height and weight advantage on her, but she was holding him at bay surprisingly well. She would give a few smaller shoves, testing his hold and strength.

Asuka's sneakers squeaking against the canvas as she moved them to circle the ring with one another in almost dance like fashion. she was finding him hard to try simply forcing back or over due to his few inches on her, so she decided to use her lack of height to her advantage and attack his center of gravity directly.

She tugged her arms down in and effort to break herself free, hoping to throw him off balance, but that boon wasn't required. Dipping down she thrust her shoulder out, trying to catch him hard in the abdomen. Her arms reached out, one to wrap around his waist, the other to try and grab a handful of his trunks at the hip.

She had stepped in at this point on the gamble this would work, she needed to be closer, needed the footing to lift him without momentum behind it. She threw herself back, bring her shoulders and neck up to try and catch the underside of his arm as she pulled to drag him up and back into a northern lights suplex. If all went according to plan, she would arch her back, getting up onto her toes to bridge the move into a pin... Just showing off really, since there was no ref around to count a early pinfall attempt.

If he managed to cut her off early after she broke from the lock up... Well, she would just awkwardly be clutching at his waist after placing herself in a rather poor position on a chance move.

Asuka's strong - laudably so. But so is Blaise. He's wiry, perhaps, but he's clearly taken his physical conditioning very seriously. Given his current wardrobe, the toned chest and sleek six-packed abdominals are likely dead giveaways of this. But in a physical contest like a lock-up, the streamlined muscletone of his arms are also flexed, tensed to meet her every ounce of pressure in equal measure. He moves with her, leaning into her, continually testing the sturdiness of her frame, her balance, her determination.

"Nah... the point..," he continues, brow nearly touching brow at this point, "...is to be immediately.. recognized!"

No, strength isn't his failing as a competitor. Nor is it speed, agility, or skill. It's what gets highlighted next as she digs in low, taking him completely by surprise. "Whuff!" He finds himself grabbed, hoisted, and ultimately slammed with nary a modicum of resistance. She landed the move perfectly, ending with her bridging a pin on him. Without belittling her obvious level of refinement, Blaise's failing is surely his profound lack of defense.

And perhaps one other facet that's yet to rear its ugly head.

"Grrf..!," he grunts, wriggling a little in her clutches. But then he pauses struggling, in favor of giving a breathless laugh. "That was snappy!," he chirps. "But there's.. more to come..!"

Finally, he makes a concerted effort to kick loose of her hold.

Asuka's suplex had been picture perfect... in her mind. Never mind the shaky bridge atop her toes... It was harder than it looked. She held her breath the entire time, secretly counting in her head for the full three count. She was considering lording it over him if she actually had him down for the entire thing. When he finally kicked out, she bucked off of him awkwardly from her arched position, rolling herself away quickly in fear of some form of immediate attempt to grab for her. Just shy of the count in her head.

"Thanks." From a crouch she sprung to her feet, bouncing a bit to shake her arms and legs out. "High praise from Mr. Wrestling Man himself. I'm touched." She held her hands to her heart, batting her eyelashes as she pretended to swoon. With a shake of her head she returned to herself, nodding to him as she kept herself mobile.

"You're pretty strong though. Still doesn't mean you don't need a spotter." She wondered faintly he he was still messing with her. She likely would have never landed something like that so early into a real match. He was clearly capable, so did he let her do that, or had it really taken him by surprise. She waited for him to rise as she back peddled into the ropes, tossing herself at them roughly before springing back to charge directly at him!

Blaise was not counting. Hadn't even crossed his mind! To be fair, his mind was mostly reeling from the sudden suplex he'd found himself in. But he's collected himself fast enough, rolling over and ending on his knees to face her. The fluttery lashes and hands over her heart earn a subdued grin; she's cute. He already knew that, but it got buried a little in the midst of what was going on.

He lifts to his full height again and rolls his shoulders, limbering up his joints a little more. He takes a single step forward, only to halt when she begins moving back against the ropes. The next thing he knows, she's charging him! And if it's one thing Blaise is known for, it's meeting a challenge head-on! He rushes forward to suddenly meet her, body angling forward before bursting in a lunge! His right arm extends, aiming to catch the girl across the collar with a diving clothesline! It could go wrong in a number of ways, but he's committed to the action! One way or the other, he'll be meeting the mat again very soon!

As she came off the ropes she had so many ideas of what she wanted to do swirling around in her head. Most of those were dashed on the rocks the moment Blaise took off for her.

"Oh shoot!" Every single thing she had wanted to do previously flew out the window and she was already out of time.

She grimaced as she took shorter hopping step forward and hurled herself up into the air over Blaise. Her legs shot out to the side as she tried to leap frog the man, throwing her arms down to clap him on the head with her palms to boost her over him as he dove.She landed into a tumble, ducking her head down to follow through to keep her momentum literally rolling. When she finally popped upright again it was to throw her back to the ropes just barely managing to thread the needle on her timing.

She came roaring back to where Blaise had moved to, coming in fast. Depending on if he was upright or on the ground, the answer for her was the same as she took to the air again. Her legs kicked out as she pulled her body horizontal to try and strike him with a dropkick.
