Méi giggled at Skylar's irritated objection. To Méi, getting under people's skin was like a
puzzle—and seeing Skylar get worked up was like solving part of a puzzle. A reward for Méi's efforts.
But it seemed like Skylar was reaching her limit. Méi knew that if she pushed Skylar further, there was a chance that Skylar would leave. Or punch her in the face. And Méi was not about to end the fun prematurely.
"I have been fine," stated Méi in a deadpan manner. Then, Méi caught a glimpse at the whiskey bottle that Skylar was drinking, and a smirk slowly appeared on Méi's face.
"It is not every day that I buy a drink worth more than four-hundred thousand yen for someone I barely know." Right as she was finishing that sentence, Méi swiftly pulled out her iPhone from her purse. What followed was a flurry of taps and swipes. Within the span of twenty seconds, Méi had pulled up the following tweet:
"Yamazaki Mizunara, 2017 edition," remarked Méi, showing Skylar the screen.
"Same as what you are drinking right now. It can go for over three grand in US dollars. How Eiji Matsumoto ostensibly manages to afford that is beyond me." Méi began to giggle again, before taking another sip of wine.
"So maaaaybe, he's a liar~"
