Athena Wonder vs. Scarlaheart - Red and Red Don't Mix

Holding Scarlaheart by her head, Athena forcefully pulled her back up, preparing herself for her next attack. But when she was about to get Scarlaheart back to her full height, she suddenly took a chop right across her collarbone, causing her to cry out in pain as she lost her grip on Scarlaheart's head!

"GAHH!!"

Wincing, Athena would immediately regain her footing and look at her opponent. In response to the attack, the blonde veteran tried to retaliate by attempting to hit her with a palm thrust right to her face, hoping to rattle her with the sudden strike as she tried to recover from the chop that she had received from her opponent earlier.

Fresh from the chop that numbed her hand across the bone, Maria’s arm followed through, glided off the collar and across her chest. Her leg came forward, jutted into a bladed stance with that same arm cocked into a V, where the blade of her hand rested against the opposite shoulder, ready to strike again. She stared towards her shoulder, unhinged by her attack’s momentum, before she turned to give face and got blasted by a palm. Pain erupted inside her sinus, and her neck felt almost unhinged as her gaze sent skyward. Both knees turned to fluid. She bumbled back, remained lateral by mere instinct and an ounce of luck as her hand clutched the top rope, and seated the middle rope. Scarlet hair needled her dishevelled face. Pants leaked from her ajar lips; one eye closed, and the other gaped. There was a whimper, and this dizziness spun her world into chaos, enough that the ceiling lights felt as though it was the ground, and she dangled upside down. It rendered her nauseous, and a paleness settled on both cheeks as she dipped lower to seat the bottom rope, her arm now fully extended to keep herself from falling. Whatever direction that may be.

The palm thrust seemed to have done the trick, and Athena looked at Scarlaheart who was pushed back towards the ropes. At first, Athena thought about following it up with another strike, but she also needed to regain her bearing, so she would keep her distance, which would certainly allow Scarlaheart to recover as well.

Huffing, Athena made her way to the center of the ring, reorienting herself and preparing herself for her opponent once she recovered. She rolled her shoulder as she kept her eyes on Scarlaheart, waiting for her to come so that she could continue this match.

The demon that spun her mind seemed to slow with time. She came to spy singulars than multiples and found the chains around her limbs grow light as she clambered them beneath her person. A growl hitched her breath as she slapped her cheek, once, twice and on thrice, she pushed off to square off with Athena centre-ring, bladed stance. “That won’t happen again.”

She threw a leg at them, aimed to punish their thigh, then thrust her cocked back right fist towards their abdomen. Speed and succession - quick-paced and without hesitation. She had to do what she knew.

Seeing Scarlaheart preparing for her next attack, Athena braced herself, and when she saw her opponent throwing a kick aimed at her thigh, she would tank the hit, grunting as Scarlaheart's leg impacted against her thigh. She was preparing herself to take her opponent's next attack, which was a strike aimed at her body. Seeing Scarlaheart throwing a fist at her abdomen, Athena would try to catch the hand, looking to trap her.

If she managed to catch the hand, Athena would try to give her arm a twist, looking to bring that arm right to Scarlaheart's back, hoping to put her into a hammerlock.

The leg strike landed picture perfect. Moments beyond, that arm, already cocked back, shot to deliver another payload but was caught within the web of Athena’s larger palm. Her limb wrenched over until the socket screeched, forcing a lurch as her free hand came to unravel, but whipped around, and her captured arm folded against her middle-spine, fist still grit. She stood on her tippy-toes, arched her back over the hold, and tried to step forward. A hiss sallied out; facial features scrunched, and a shaky gasp racked her next sharp exhale.

Trapping Scarlaheart in the hammerlock, Athena would keep the pressure going, making sure to crank on her opponent's arm and shoulder in the hold, putting more damage on her. And then, Scarlaheart started insulting Athena, and the blonde veteran wasn't one to take such insult lightly. "The hell you're calling second-class granny, huh?!"

A little miffed, Athena would warp her other arm around Scarlaheart's neck while still maintaining the hammerlock. While the one-armed sleeper might not be as effective as a normal sleeper hold, Athena still had enough strength to make it work, and she would begin squeezing her opponent's neck as she would put her opponent into the combination of hammerlock and one-armed sleeper hold.

“What’s wrong, did I strike a nerve? Don’t be too upset. Before you even realize, you’ll need another na- GRK!”

Athena’s arm lynched her tired chuckle; eyes gaped, mouth formed an O for her tongue to poke out, and her depleting breath sounded like nails across a chalkboard. Her cheeks turned red as her arms came up; all ten fingers hooked their forearm to pull down while her whole body shivered. A million miles a minute couldn’t fathom her heart rate. Her lungs felt they could burst inside. Clenched teeth frothed at the corners. A foot raised and attempted to blind-stomp Athena’s while she leaned back, even more so than the sleeper and hammerlock already mandated, and jumped straight up, where it’s hoped that her crown could bash Athena right in the head.

Now trapping her opponent in the combination of hammerlock and one-armed sleeper hold, Athena knew that her opponent would be too weakened afterwards, and she would keep applying pressure into the hold in order to retain her upper hand. But then, Scarlaheart suddenly stomped her foot on Athena's before she went to hit her face with the crown of her head.

"AUGHH!!"

The impact was enough for Athena to let go of her opponent. But she would make sure to shove her away so that her opponent wouldn't be able to immediately capitalize on this as she stepped back, nursing her face that was struck by her opponent's head.

The shove sent her feet to chase her head.
She collapsed onto her hands and knees, then took a moment to cough and rub her throat that had sweltered and flushed red. There she looked back, over-shoulder and sharpened her glare. “Hmm…”

It descended into a growl, and she planted a knee, pressed on it and stood. She didn’t push Athena for anything nor advance but retreat until she could hook the ropes with one arm and walk towards the next turnbuckle. There she stuck out her arm and delivered the thumbs down. “Your size isn’t helping you, is it?” A smirk donned, “What is it? Are your knees too filled with dust? Or maybe your arms are just turning to mush. After all, we haaaave been at this for a long time, for someone your age. You must be tired.” She said, followed by weak laughter that had its very own pause, then re-continued.
